about fighting against the odds we dont have same view. if i fight for example a bc and i am in ceptor i am fighting against the odds, if i win due to better fit and him being the noob that means i win becouse of skills. becouse when i engage that bc i dont know what skill he has, i dont know his exact fitting i can only assume and see how it goes during the fight. same is when for example 10 bs is coming for our 5, we dunno how much ew they have nd which types, we dont know do they have remote reps or drones, but we still fight them and win. well i dont wanna give out tactics we use, but those tactics get us the victory against the odds. for example last night we fought crow, istar and for 3rd ship i dont even remember what it was, i know it was some cruiser size, but he never aggroed so doesnt matter anyway against drake, 2 ravens, abadon and megathron. we killed the drake and didnt lose anything couldnt cope with their dmg so had to stop attack. was it fight against the odds ? 1 hac, 1 ceptor and 1 bc (i think) against 1 bc and 4 bs ? and did we win ? mind you they were all agressing us, no one was afk, they had some dampening. we had no ew at all.

Overall Best Pirate Corp of 2007: Honestly who can answer this, I mean sure this guy was good, and that guy but really unless you have flown with and/or against each and every one how can you really give an answer?
Most Forum W***e Pirate Corp of 2007: Scroll through the list of people in this thread from pirate corps, I nominate them all.
Overall Best Pirate of 2007 (individual): For this I have two people I'd have to say: First is Dr Slice, he's the guy that got me into piracy in the first place, really the whole reason why DKI exists as it does today. However I have never flown with him, so I can't say anything other then he has been my role model almost since I started playing eve.
The second is Cursed Vendetta, this is the guy who I have flown with frequently since joining Blood Blind. He is a great guy, lots of fun to fly with and knows what he is doing. All in all a great pirate.
But really there could be hundreds of pirates out there that I have never met that are simply amazing so again who can really say which one of us is the best.

You offered a 1v1. I took it knowing you'd have jammer drones and I had a standard fit. I wanted to see if I could take out your drones with a standard fit and I failed and spent a good portion of the fight jammed.
If I was looking to strictly win that duel. I would have fit smarties and done a couple of other things specifically for the fit I knew you'd have.
I didn't and I lost. Its just a ship. Oh and you'll notice it wasn't nano'd so stop with the nanofag whines.

It's pretty difficult for anyone to be able to say who're the best pirates (whatever that means in the first place). Few people have experience with every sector of the space, so everybody's opinions will tend to be highly localized. Every area has their own threats.
So, just based on my own highly subjective views, I'll have to say that I would have to give props to Veto - even if it is a bit unsurprising. They do a more roaming style of piracy and get around a lot to cover a lot of territory, which makes them distinct from other groups in my eyes. Too many pirate corps specialize in just camping one station or one gate. Also, a few good fights with them proved to me that they actually deserve their reputation. I'll just say that I wish they flew a bit heavier gangs, so we'd actually get more of those fights with them (there's usually a weight imbalance in a PAK vs Veto encounter, which results in a fruitless cat'n'mouse, but that's not really anybody's fault per se).
As for naming another group, I'll have to second BEEs. I remember fighting them (very briefly) way back during some off-contract pirate hunting in the MC and not being too impressed at the time, but lately we've had a few run-ins with them in which they've given us a run for our money and proved that they're not pushovers like most of the thugs out there. So, yeah, I'll vote for them as the pleasant surprise of the year.
I'm not gonna go into the worst pirate group category at all. How the hell are we supposed to make that distinction? Let's just say that most of the folks out there are pretty damn craptacular and totally unprepared for a target who actually shoots back.

When I was refering to nanofags, I was refering to your corp not you, grats for not flying a nano ship, and grats for accepting the 1v1, yes the main reason I won was because I had ecm drones and I did get a good jamm in when I was 30% from Hull, but you had a TS Explo + Ts Kinetic hardener and Explo + Kinetic rigs, Damage coming from my Rupture was non existant, my resis was a EANM II + DC II and no rigs, "If I was looking to strictly win that duel. I had a TS Explo hardener sitting in the station, I could of fitted it but I didn't fit it,

To all the people saying "pirates are still as good now as they were 3 years ago". They arn't. It is why I, and many other older players, have stopped pirating. 3 years ago most of the best pvpers were pirates, now very few pirates are willing to risk actual pvp and focus on ganks and overwhelming odds.

If getting smashed by eve uni is having 176 kills and 11 losses (and yes we did actually lose a cs) with an avg of 4 ppl online while also hunting in germinate, flying with SAS at the time etc. Then ya you are right we got smashed... And thats why we could hold an irongrip on syndicate for like 5-6 months and had to move on since nobody would fight us... Cause we got smashed all the time...
Though Dancers became another corp when alot of so called "old school" players left including myself some 18 months ago but some of us are returning again.
Anyways your ignorance agitated me there for a second...
But long time no see Zola and ya if todays pirates look to the forum for their reputation that makes me sad... We made our victims do that for us...

Garmon is a very experienced pvp'er, probably the best rupture pilot I've ever seen. So please, stfu about your BEES. Stop calling good pirates noobs. I'm tired of seeing you forum whoring and claiming to be oh so much better then everyone else. We get it, you gank people in amamake, congratulations. Now stfu about it. Cuz you're not that good.
Oh, and having "been around for well over a year" does not equal instanberbbq. So stop bragging about it.
