From: The Imperial Public Relations and Diplomatic Services Bureau
To: General Public of EVE
Following the untimely death of the Forsaken Emperor and the Huff Rebellion the remaining four ôPillars of the Empireö have taken steps to ensure that the stability of the Forsaken Empire remains in tact. The Imperial Navy has rallied behind the joint regency set up by the Four Pillars to endorse their authority.
In their first act as joint regency they have ratified a new open mining policy within The Vale of the Silent and the Tribute region. Mining firms wishing to mine in this region may obtain a pass from Lord Bjorn of Imperial Public Power and Energy Commission. The Commission wishes to emphasize that the passes are for mining only and all ore must be refined at one of the designated Imperial Refineries. Lord Bjorn will provide other details according to the circumstances of the pass.
The Imperial Naval Command has issued a stern warning that this is only a mining pass and any attempt to smuggle anything in or out of Forsaken Empire space will be met with the wrath of the Imperial Navy.
This new policy has been implemented in an ongoing effort to demonstrate the Forsaken Empires desire to open up free commerce in the Northern Region and its commitment to bringing stability and order there.
This is the will of the Collective Regents and it will be done. May the Others protect our late Emperor.

So they can mine in this space but can't move their minerals out of it?

Miners have to refine their ore in FE controlled stations is all. --------------

Please lets keep this on topic and any inquries serious and non flammable. The pillars in there infinite wisdom have made this decision and shortly another post will go out inacting it i suspect.
This is serious, and anyone trying to take advantage of the legitimate citizens of the Empire or anyone working legitimately in the tribute or the vale again, will recieve our usual discreet eviction from Forsaken Imperial Space.
Other than that LETS KEEP THIS ONE POST CLEAN AND CONSTRUCTIVE FOR ONCE. If you are not wishing to partake in the legitimate mining of the noted 2 regions then...please dont post. We're all adults if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say it. This isnt a post about the past, or who did what to who or he said she said. Just serious and productive questions only please.

Not much happend Omniwar, we still do our fair share of fighting, we have just decided to develope the vast amounts of Space we have procured over the past 8 monthes. I mean useless space is dead space, and the few people we allow to operate there have seemed to behave and be productive citizens of the empire so...were increasing our citizen base.
A unused mined or develope region is a useless region. We have 3 regions that are hardly touched, nigh virgin land and we have decided to open 2 of them. Geminate still has no stations and is extrememly difficult to mine in, as well hunting sucks, so it remains closed.
We allow reasonable, peaceful industrial corps to grow, and at the same time we grow aswell. While people with passes arent exactly alighned with us, i consider them citizens of the empire whom have always indirectly recieved the protection of the empire.
In the end its not totally political, but it gives us a base, and allows other neutral corps that have no malice or malevolence in thier hearts the right to the 0.0 Industrial experiance.
But for the Pvpers that join us we still maintain one of eve's most powerful and certainly active militaries and along with our allies from the tip of the SE to the tip of the NW, we remain a force hard to rekon with, and people still try so we still get our good deal of fun excitement and action.

Nope this is no joke, This is not a ploy, we really do want to open up commerce in the 2 specified regions.
There are no pirates left in our roll call.
Tank Ceo left, a few others and our PvP noobs joined Huff and went galivanting off near syndicate.

I was just wondering what exactly the costs of this mining pass are and what it allows us to do. I know we get to mine, and we have to refine everything at a designated station. Is there anything else to it, and what do you get out of it if we refine at your station. |

Well bud. The plan ws hopefully creating a peace in the north, As the R-K guy put it taming the north. It is the way of things. There was always action, but most of huff never went looking. And now with certain events you are in the middle of it.
However Its not my place to post off on that topic.
This was pretty much bound to happen, with control of 3 regions and a 4th protectorate, We believed it was necessary. The decision was not shunned, the discussion held no objections to do this.
F-E has traditionally been, since the days of M3G4 a xenophobic empire. Though through its evolution from one of the 2 most feared pirate corps to a powerful alliance to a unified legitimate corp, we have come to the decision to open our doors to honest and legitimate industrialists whom wish to mine free of the fear of harm.
EVE has a select minority of super corps, and generally its a closed and discreet club, We came ot the conclusion that this would be a good thing for EVE and the more veteran citizens of empire whom are ready to spread thier wings.
Those corps should contact Lord Bjorn and work out thier move into either the vale of the silent and the tribute region. There are little stipulations and restrictions, basically play nice, dont fight each other and dont interfere with the F-E, as we are the owners of the regions we are allowing to be developed. Most of the time you will prolly only see a militia or the actual F.I.N. at certain check points through out the regions, these should be set up in the near future for your safety and law enforcement. Unless there is a problem then the militia or F.I.N. will respond.
But just be courtious and civilized and if you have a problem your ceos and co-ceos will be given a list of the Forsaken Chain of Command, to contact should you have any questions comments or concerns.
Again If you are a legitimate industrial corp and are neutral feel free to contact Lorg Bjorn.

Not that you will believe me. BUT. I can assure you that FE has a different Agenda. I love the idea of open space for people to mine in 0.0, and paying a small fee at the refine station is well worth it.

I dunno how I feel about all of this, but I can tell you something, I've heard very familiar words before.
When Biomass split from M3G4, they went legit. Didn't last too long because they got bored. Personally, i think we will all be keeping a close on developments in this region and whether or not F-E can remain legit this time for longer than a month.
Either way, I would hope that denouncing piracy will also mean denouncing pirate alliances like the RSA. Otherwise you will be no better than they are and still the pirates you claim to have changed from.

Well I've reserved comment until now and it seems the public announcement has been met with a level of respect and civilised debate that nicely contrasts the brawling tone of responses to early communications from Forsaken Empire commentators in related matters. Good, nobody benefits from unsightly ranting and froth-filled imprecations.
So in the spirit in which it was asked, here is the Jericho Fraction [JERIC] response to this initiative from the Forsaken Empire [F-E].
1. We do not recognise the Forsaken territorial claim on the Vale, Tribute and Geminate regions of space. And do not support or yield to the assumption of control or legal authority by an aspirant "space empire" with designs on adding structural control to the realities of a simple organised crime syndicate and mineral cartel functionality.
2. We do not recognise the authority of the Forsaken Empire fleet to restrict access or otherwise limit the free passage of independent starships and free traders and miners and explorers in these regions of space.
3. We do not recongise the right of the Forsaken Empire to levy tolls, issue warrents, demand refining locations, or in any way judge, assess, implement, or otherwise control economic process and wealth aquisition in these or any other regions.
That being said we do recognise the right of individuals and corporations to make their own decisions in these regards and though we would strongly advise all entities and organisations considering these arrangements to learn the history of the Forsaken Empire and antecedent identities before committing to potentially dangerous paths, we do at the last appreciate this is a decision for individual conscience from informed risk.
We do however make plain that should Jericho Fraction ever be attacked or abused or otherwise confronted by the Forsaken Empire, Forsaken allies, or individual pilots with F-E allegiance in times to come we will consider F-E passholder mining corporations in these regions full and valid war-targets for guerilla operations and economic destabalisation. In short, entering an economic relationship with the Forsaken Empire in cooporation with their territorial claims will make your corporation a potential war target should Forsaken Empire political direction once again veer into criminal acts and shameless banditry. Remember well that though Jericho Frigates are surely not able to destroy the Forsaken Empire fleet in direct confrontation, our fighter wings are fully able to eliminate mining vessels, haulers, support infrastructure and all unescorted craft.
We make this linkage in full awareness of the implications and political fallout and make absolutely no apology for considering economic appeasment of tyranny a crime of equal weight to tyranny iself.
Jericho Fraction believes in the freedom of each individual to meet his or own needs and destiny without interference and restriction from greedy dominions and petty cartels in the depths of space. We believe ultimately that a war is coming between those who desire societal change and cultural reform and those who profit from the continuence of reactionary patterns and restrictive economic controls.
I trust this makes our position perfectly clear.
