From: The Imperial Public Relations and Diplomatic Services Bureau
To: General Public of EVE
Following the untimely death of the Forsaken Emperor and the Huff Rebellion the remaining four ôPillars of the Empireö have taken steps to ensure that the stability of the Forsaken Empire remains in tact. The Imperial Navy has rallied behind the joint regency set up by the Four Pillars to endorse their authority.
In their first act as joint regency they have ratified a new open mining policy within The Vale of the Silent and the Tribute region. Mining firms wishing to mine in this region may obtain a pass from Lord Bjorn of Imperial Public Power and Energy Commission. The Commission wishes to emphasize that the passes are for mining only and all ore must be refined at one of the designated Imperial Refineries. Lord Bjorn will provide other details according to the circumstances of the pass.
The Imperial Naval Command has issued a stern warning that this is only a mining pass and any attempt to smuggle anything in or out of Forsaken Empire space will be met with the wrath of the Imperial Navy.
This new policy has been implemented in an ongoing effort to demonstrate the Forsaken Empires desire to open up free commerce in the Northern Region and its commitment to bringing stability and order there.
This is the will of the Collective Regents and it will be done. May the Others protect our late Emperor.

Please lets keep this on topic and any inquries serious and non flammable. The pillars in there infinite wisdom have made this decision and shortly another post will go out inacting it i suspect.
This is serious, and anyone trying to take advantage of the legitimate citizens of the Empire or anyone working legitimately in the tribute or the vale again, will recieve our usual discreet eviction from Forsaken Imperial Space.
Other than that LETS KEEP THIS ONE POST CLEAN AND CONSTRUCTIVE FOR ONCE. If you are not wishing to partake in the legitimate mining of the noted 2 regions then...please dont post. We're all adults if you dont have anything nice to say then dont say it. This isnt a post about the past, or who did what to who or he said she said. Just serious and productive questions only please.

Not much happend Omniwar, we still do our fair share of fighting, we have just decided to develope the vast amounts of Space we have procured over the past 8 monthes. I mean useless space is dead space, and the few people we allow to operate there have seemed to behave and be productive citizens of the empire so...were increasing our citizen base.
A unused mined or develope region is a useless region. We have 3 regions that are hardly touched, nigh virgin land and we have decided to open 2 of them. Geminate still has no stations and is extrememly difficult to mine in, as well hunting sucks, so it remains closed.
We allow reasonable, peaceful industrial corps to grow, and at the same time we grow aswell. While people with passes arent exactly alighned with us, i consider them citizens of the empire whom have always indirectly recieved the protection of the empire.
In the end its not totally political, but it gives us a base, and allows other neutral corps that have no malice or malevolence in thier hearts the right to the 0.0 Industrial experiance.
But for the Pvpers that join us we still maintain one of eve's most powerful and certainly active militaries and along with our allies from the tip of the SE to the tip of the NW, we remain a force hard to rekon with, and people still try so we still get our good deal of fun excitement and action.

I was just wondering what exactly the costs of this mining pass are and what it allows us to do. I know we get to mine, and we have to refine everything at a designated station. Is there anything else to it, and what do you get out of it if we refine at your station. |

Well bud. The plan ws hopefully creating a peace in the north, As the R-K guy put it taming the north. It is the way of things. There was always action, but most of huff never went looking. And now with certain events you are in the middle of it.
However Its not my place to post off on that topic.
This was pretty much bound to happen, with control of 3 regions and a 4th protectorate, We believed it was necessary. The decision was not shunned, the discussion held no objections to do this.
F-E has traditionally been, since the days of M3G4 a xenophobic empire. Though through its evolution from one of the 2 most feared pirate corps to a powerful alliance to a unified legitimate corp, we have come to the decision to open our doors to honest and legitimate industrialists whom wish to mine free of the fear of harm.
EVE has a select minority of super corps, and generally its a closed and discreet club, We came ot the conclusion that this would be a good thing for EVE and the more veteran citizens of empire whom are ready to spread thier wings.
Those corps should contact Lord Bjorn and work out thier move into either the vale of the silent and the tribute region. There are little stipulations and restrictions, basically play nice, dont fight each other and dont interfere with the F-E, as we are the owners of the regions we are allowing to be developed. Most of the time you will prolly only see a militia or the actual F.I.N. at certain check points through out the regions, these should be set up in the near future for your safety and law enforcement. Unless there is a problem then the militia or F.I.N. will respond.
But just be courtious and civilized and if you have a problem your ceos and co-ceos will be given a list of the Forsaken Chain of Command, to contact should you have any questions comments or concerns.
Again If you are a legitimate industrial corp and are neutral feel free to contact Lorg Bjorn.

Not that you will believe me. BUT. I can assure you that FE has a different Agenda. I love the idea of open space for people to mine in 0.0, and paying a small fee at the refine station is well worth it.

I dunno how I feel about all of this, but I can tell you something, I've heard very familiar words before.
When Biomass split from M3G4, they went legit. Didn't last too long because they got bored. Personally, i think we will all be keeping a close on developments in this region and whether or not F-E can remain legit this time for longer than a month.
Either way, I would hope that denouncing piracy will also mean denouncing pirate alliances like the RSA. Otherwise you will be no better than they are and still the pirates you claim to have changed from.

Well I've reserved comment until now and it seems the public announcement has been met with a level of respect and civilised debate that nicely contrasts the brawling tone of responses to early communications from Forsaken Empire commentators in related matters. Good, nobody benefits from unsightly ranting and froth-filled imprecations.
So in the spirit in which it was asked, here is the Jericho Fraction [JERIC] response to this initiative from the Forsaken Empire [F-E].
1. We do not recognise the Forsaken territorial claim on the Vale, Tribute and Geminate regions of space. And do not support or yield to the assumption of control or legal authority by an aspirant "space empire" with designs on adding structural control to the realities of a simple organised crime syndicate and mineral cartel functionality.
2. We do not recognise the authority of the Forsaken Empire fleet to restrict access or otherwise limit the free passage of independent starships and free traders and miners and explorers in these regions of space.
3. We do not recongise the right of the Forsaken Empire to levy tolls, issue warrents, demand refining locations, or in any way judge, assess, implement, or otherwise control economic process and wealth aquisition in these or any other regions.
That being said we do recognise the right of individuals and corporations to make their own decisions in these regards and though we would strongly advise all entities and organisations considering these arrangements to learn the history of the Forsaken Empire and antecedent identities before committing to potentially dangerous paths, we do at the last appreciate this is a decision for individual conscience from informed risk.
We do however make plain that should Jericho Fraction ever be attacked or abused or otherwise confronted by the Forsaken Empire, Forsaken allies, or individual pilots with F-E allegiance in times to come we will consider F-E passholder mining corporations in these regions full and valid war-targets for guerilla operations and economic destabalisation. In short, entering an economic relationship with the Forsaken Empire in cooporation with their territorial claims will make your corporation a potential war target should Forsaken Empire political direction once again veer into criminal acts and shameless banditry. Remember well that though Jericho Frigates are surely not able to destroy the Forsaken Empire fleet in direct confrontation, our fighter wings are fully able to eliminate mining vessels, haulers, support infrastructure and all unescorted craft.
We make this linkage in full awareness of the implications and political fallout and make absolutely no apology for considering economic appeasment of tyranny a crime of equal weight to tyranny iself.
Jericho Fraction believes in the freedom of each individual to meet his or own needs and destiny without interference and restriction from greedy dominions and petty cartels in the depths of space. We believe ultimately that a war is coming between those who desire societal change and cultural reform and those who profit from the continuence of reactionary patterns and restrictive economic controls.
I trust this makes our position perfectly clear.

No offence taken, it was simply a factual response to a press release. No need for spear rattling and nonsense from any party. We have never made any secret of our intention to avoid all "fair" combat with the mighty F-E fleet. Only a fool would fight a line battle with an economic giant. You have every right to publicise this policy monsieur Later, and equally we have every right to make a public response.
Thats the rich cycle of political debate and public relations in action. And its all part of the game.

The instinct to command others, in its primitive essence, is a carnivorous, altogether bestial and savage instinct. Under the influence of the mental development of man, it takes on a somewhat more ideal form and becomes somewhat ennobled, presenting itself as the instrument of reason and the devoted servant of that abstraction, or political fiction, which is called the public good. But in its essence it remains just as baneful, and it becomes even more so when, with the application of science, it extends its scope and intensifies the power of its action. If there is a devil in history, it is this power principle.

Trust, is the real question here.
Many remember when what is now F-E was Biomass Cartel and it's allies. Many remember M3G4 before that. They were quite well known for their penchant for piracy and murder. They had a reputation for being quite capricious at certain times.
Even now, after the death of the Emperor, F-E continues to present itself as one of the most fearsome groups in the Eve star cluster.
The Forsaken Empire, opening it's borders to allow mining? And the only requirement is that those who mine do their refining at the F-E's stations?
It certainly sounds good.
The real question is, how can these miners trust F-E? Here we have a large, primarily military organization with a history of xenophobia, rampant murder, and internal divisions (the most recent of which was the splintering of some players to Huff Technologies). Who's to say that the miners that abide by this proposal won't meet with "accidents" on the part of splinter groups remaining within F-E?

Actually Limpy when Biomass formed from the ruins of M3G4 they presented themselves as legitimate miners and they asked for my help to set them up on their "honest road". Chrisopher Xen declared his "nation of Eve" and for a time was a voice in the wilderness, then Biomass took him back in and all of a sudden "the nation of eve" was forgotten and it was back to piracy again.
Now don't get me wrong, I am no rapid anti-pirate. As everyone likely knows I have represented piractical powers in the past in public relations campaigns and alliance strategy. It is also fair to say that I believe "pirates" pose far less threat to the freedom of Eve star cluster than closed border tyrannical alliances do. Being "a pirate" is not the issue here. Telling people a place is "yours" and demanding the right to levy laws and warrents and say what goes and where, these are far worse crimes against the freedom of the human race. And the Forsaken Empire claim on Geminate, Vale and Tribute is anathema to free thinking individuals across the face of Eve star cluster. Who elected you the rulers of the frontier? Nobody, simply the power of the gun and your own aspirations. In essence since power is purely the issue, and since you claim the right to murder and destroy anyone who speaks or acts against you, why bother with the debate about "piracy" at all, since its clear represent something far worse ... a reactionary territorial cartel and spaceborn protection racket.
Quote: ok then so now i read up and i saw this: "Blah blah blah. In short, jf are terrorists and are to be shot on sight by all pilots in FE space." jf= jericho SO now I am at an utterloss here, Jercho is pirate and F-E aren't? what the heck did i miss...
To the confused chap who asked about FE being pirates or not, I have to say that its not really relevent what the definition is. The actuality of the situation is this:
Forsaken Empire have declared that a section of free space is "theirs" and you must acknowledge this to go there in safety. You have several options:
1. Kneel and kiss their pinky ring and keep their laws and acknowledge their sovereignty. 2. Ignore them and use your wits to avoid their patrols (consider them slightly more dangerous Gurista pirates). 3. Fight them.
Jericho Fraction have declared that if Forsaken Empire take hostile actions against our ships we will consider everyone who takes "option 1" to be a collaborator and a valid war-tactic in the event of future hostilities.
In effect neither side here is adopting a traditional "piratical" role ... this is more to do with asymetrical warfare than commerce raiding or banditry.
Jericho Fraction is probably considered a "terrorist" or "guerilla" agency by the Forsaken Authorities because we will not fight war on their terms or recognise their government as legitimate. It is common propaganda practise for an empire seeking to legitimise itself to declare its enemy's illegitimate and criminal. But for this propaganda effort to work it means that the listener must acknowledge the Forsaken territorial claim first off.
But really, terminology is a flexible weapon of war and you are best to search for your own definitions and understanding of the dynamics in such matters. Searching for which side to label "pirate" will not bring a greater awareness of the issues at hand.
For what it is worth, you have my word that Jericho Fraction is pro free-space and that means we support unrestricted access to 0.0 frontiers and we hope one day to see an end to these reactionary cartels that prey on honest traders, wayfarers and industrialists alike. We aren't whiter than white, and we are no saints and paragons monsieur, but we are pro-freedom. your freedom, our freedom, and the hope that future cultural development will be better than the past. But make no mistake; we will get our hands dirty and we will end up killing innocents; physical bodies will die and people will suffer. This is a war about ideology and dreams and its being fought in the centre ground of philosophical opposities and such matters often have no quarter, neutrals and bystanders get shot in bloody combats and that sadly is a fact of life. I hope you can appreciate the unalloyed truth. Its all I have to give you.
And I hope this helps.
Love and peace

But you say it like its a bad thing Skillz, but as long as the politics stay IC and its characters debating with characters I actually love this. Its the kind of thing that makes Eve great. I don't get upset with IC rhetoric, never have ... I really enjoy this whole clash of ideologies part of the game. It provides meaning for the spaceship fights and corporate logistics stuff. The only thing that ever irked me was the ooc personal attacks. As long as we stay off that its absolutely fine ;)

I don't understand why JF is here at all. And I certainly don't understand why you feel the need to, yet again, tell us your version of the already well-known history of m3g4 and biomass. If you have forgotten, there are 3 other corps that make up F-E, and none of them have the tarnished reputation that you wash us ex-biomass people with every chance you get.
For one thing, F-E and the rest of EVE could really care less what Jericho's official stance is on our opening of our space. It would be more polite if you had opened your own thread and seen what goes on in it. But, as it were, you felt the need to poke your head out a little higher than the other children in order to get some attention.
Also, to all of you JF people that have found a place in Jade's shadow, please, PLEASE, PLLLLEEEEEEEAAAAASE, come up with some original content. Half of the things you write seem to be cut and pasted straight from Jade's posts! Its a waste of time, especially when all it does is further hijak a totally legit post!
Anyway, back to the point. We already have many individuals as well as corps that have expressed interest in this opportunity and have begun setting up camp. Time will tell what will come of this new direction we are taking, but EVE certainly could go without a history lesson every time we post anything at all.

2 things I find amusing:
1) FE are pirates, and are basically at a permanent 0.0 war status with JF, and they called JF pirates. lol. it reminds me of when we chased sinister/rus/tlbc/m0o to Curse for terrorizing Fountain, but we got labeled pirates by the same ppl and their allies for it.
2) FE posts... JF responds... FE cries hijacked thread, when JF are responding directly to the topic at hand?
FE, if you don't want people to respond to your threads, don't post them.
If you don't want Jade specifically to respond to your threads, don't post them.
Or, you could learn how to properly debate, so you won't have to run back to the 'yap yap yap' 'wah wah hijacked thread' que all the time.
Oh, and on topic, Evol will keep all FE pirates on kos until the end of time. You chose to be pirates, you can be treated as such.

If you're a pirate once, you're a pirate forever.
What Evol is, doesn't matter here. I wasn't making any claims about what we are, or denying any either. I will state a simple fact though:
Evol has never sat at a system and just killed every single ship that came through as real pirates do. If we did, everyone would know it, and there would be no opinions about it. I do not condone indiscriminate killing in high travel systems, but as everyone knows, warzones take civillian lives too.

The primary reason is explained very clearly in the polite and factual response made to answer your "empire" press release. IE. to warn potential F-E mining pass corporations that they will be held answerable for collaboration should F-E conduct bring us to another direct shooting war. (And lets face it this is very likely, given our lack of recognition of your territorial claims and your statement that you will consider us "terrorists" and engage without mercy)
The comment about M3G4 ancestry was made directly to Limpy Bint who had stated that Biomass had never claimed to be anything but "pirates" ... since I know from personal experience that Biomass did claim to be innocent and law-abiding and had a "change of mind" it is pertinent history given the number of Biomass in Forsaken Empire. If some of your governmnent have a repution of changing their spots on a regular basis then people have a right to know.

You don't (and never will) speak for "the rest of Eve" so don't be silly. And responding factually to a press release is "polite". If for example I had posted "yap yap yap loser tards die I rulz ya freakoboys" ... now that would have been impolite. If you can't see the difference you might ask a grownup to translate for you ?

Whereas a could majority of the things you chaps write seem to be direct liftings from the collected wisdom of those ancient wits ... beavis and butthead. Stones and glass houses i wonder? But the import point here ... debate is legitimate. The points raised by our people are legitimate. If you don't want your policy discussed don't post it.

Once again, Jade, you completely disregarded the most poignant part of my post. What I was saying is that the vast majority of EVE could really care less what you or your fraction thinks about our claim to space, and moreover, you've already posted your stance multiple times. So please, quit wasting our time (and I know i speak for MOST of eve on this one) with you long, drawn out posts that are usually redundant. Be polite and easier on everyones scrolling fingers and make your own posts about your stances. I saw that you did this a couple weeks ago, and i liked the trend.
To evolution: you still speak to us as if you were the badest-badasses in EVE. The morally superior pirate hunters that will stop at nothing to rid eve of scum, whether it is for their current transgressions or past. And yet, you team up with m0o to kill some CA. It doesnt matter what your excuse is or how you bend the truth on this one, that combination just lost you the 5 ounces of respect that EVE had for you.

No one from evolution has ever claimed that we are a pirate hunter corp.
No one has ever said it was our goal to rid eve of scum.
Morals and superiority are in the eyes of the beholder. We don't care.
We do what we want to do.
We teamed up with m0o to kill some CA, yep. Unfortunately for you, that statement gets you 0 propz. It's not in dispute.
Evolution is also not interesting in the respect of people like you, who make up our stances for us, so that you can judge us when we do what we want.
We have never ever been pirate hunters or scum killers. We have been Evolution, doing whatever we feel like doing.
Oops, I seemed to have dismantled the entire thrust of your anti-evol post. sorry. Perhaps if you didn't make stuff up it would have been more difficult.

I don't want a mining pass but I do want you chaps to reject reactionary tyranny and accept that holding dominion over free territory is the act of fiscal bullies and low-scraping villainous cartels.
And I have hate to repeat myself but I will, if you don't want comment go hide under a rock. The angrier you get the less chance you have to convince anyone with your rhetoric monsieur Peck and perhaps the more likely it is that the free citizens of Eve will rise up and assault the edifice of your broad and foul ambition.

If you want to have two reasons to hate us, then at least own up to them both, instead of contradicting yourself by denying one of them.
But, either way you look at it, we've claimed to be a legit, non-piratical entity...which has been proven by the fact that HUFF felt the need to leave the corp to go do the pirating thing.
And now that you have a friendly alliance with TRUE pirates (m0o) it makes you look terribly silly and transparent.

Or to be more blunt, why should anyone respect your "claims", and by what authority have you "legitimised" your organised crime cartel?
And lets face it, the only difference between Huff and F-E is that Huff admitted they were bored stupid with only killing intruders to a claimed domain, whereas F-E have got a little more patience it seems (but still) kill intruders in a claimed domain. You are both murderous criminals lets face it. The only difference is that Huff are a little more honest about it.

No marichek, the statements do not contradict each other. You are simply wrong.
You are saying that the sentences:
"Evol will keep all FE pirates on kos until the end of time. You chose to be pirates, you can be treated as such."
are the same as:
"Because you are pirates, Evol will continue to kill you. You chose to be pirates, you can be treated as such."
You shot at Evolution. You shot at Evolution because you are pirates. Evolution has you on kos because you shot at Evolution. You shot at Evolution because you are pirates.
My wording was correct. You failed to understand it. You assumed incorrectly. You are wrong.
We don't hate you. You are not worthy enough in this game, nor do you have the skills, to persuade Evolution to hate you.
Furthermore, HUFF leaving you is not needed as proof that you have claimed to be legit. You have done that here, in the forums. Claiming to be something is easy. Who cares if HUFF left? It's not proof that you're legit. Countless times throughout history, and this game alone, have smokescreens such as that been put up to make the populace believe something.
You were pirates. That means you are pirates.
Maybe if you don't pull camps for the next 730 days, your pirate tags will come off. Until then, you will remain on Evolution kos because you shot at Evolution.
You're too small marichek.
