Curse - i'll go deep into enemy systems with this one so I rename it every time. I pick the name of another person in local and name the ship "XName's Curse" This way, others will think the curse is friendly and It buys me enough time to engage someone in a belt.

I always thought it fit the bigger mining boats better, especially the Hulk. I can get the cargo hold up to 13k, so I don't even bother with a separate hauler.

I follow a numbering scheme based on what version of the ship I'm flying,
Tempest = Tempestilence, currently on Tempestilence IV
Jaguar = Darkstar, currently on Darkstar IX
Typhoon = Typwn, currently on Typwn III
Maelstrom = Failstrom, currently on Failstrom I
Hurricane = Hurripain, currently on Hurripain IV

I try to name mine out of the ship classes from Ian M Banks Culture novels, whilst adding my own creative spin to fit the situation.
For example:
Crow, ROU - Psychosis.
Raven, GSV - TPAR.
Rapier, ROU - Shadow.
Vagabond, ROU - Dementia.
Sacrilidge, GCU - Insanity.

I just rename them to a non-Amarrian noobship name. Or, in rare cases, I use names that make me giggle (where scouting isn't an issue). My gang-Zealot I named Bad Omen.
Edit; Oh and I name alot of them after some ex-corpmates and especially one guys ship of choice. He flew a Moa that for some reason never died. We could go out the ten of us and if only one returned, it'd be him in his Moa. So I name alot of ships XYZ's Moa, where XYZ is a random guys name from that corp.

I usually don't care what my ship is named.
If I'm in an area where I think I'm in danger though I'll use such names as Veldspar or Beacon. I use every little advantage I can get.

Basically, i just take the word "Ephemeral", then add the color that is that ship's primary or dominant color. For example, an Ishtar would be called "Ephemeral Green", a Mega "Ephemeral Grey", and a Navy Mega (sold it a while ago) "Ephemeral Black"

I name all my ships after minerals (or made up sounding mineral like names) since my old corp was an industrial corp called crystaline green, and I've kept up the convention since.
I also have started tagging on RKN, for Royal Khanid Navy to show my loyalty to the Kingdom! rar! though I guess just thinking about it, it should be RKNS or HMS, but with HMS ppl think "English" not "Khanid"
edit: except the bustard, which is just called "Fat Bustard"
