I bought my first Scorp today and when i took it out for a drive in empire, i ended up beside a Moa-crusier at a gate and Ohh My GOD. My newly baught battleship were just about the same size as the little cruiser at my side. Why is the scorpion so small compared to all other battleships out there. I have compared its agility and all the other stuff like mass and signature radius, and even the gigantic apocalypse and megathron is both faster and more agile then the little tiny scorpion. So why is it so small when it has so high specs compared to the other battleships , and why hasnt CCP fixed it after almost a YEAR !!..

It has 8 midslots, therefore it must suffer, as should all Caldari ships.
I mean, look at the Raven, it has 1 midslot more than a Tempest, yet it is the slowest/least agile/slowest targetting/easiest to target tier2 battleship in the game while the Tempest is #1 in all those categories.
Make sense? No, not really. ------

LOL CCPs "Fix" was to make the tiny scorpion slower and less agile.

Damage battleship? Tempest. E-War? Scorp.
That's basically the way it goes I guess. Unless for special situations with like chaser/scramble battleship groups to pick up the run aways that are close range mega's/raven's.
Apoc's get the station fun all to themselves. Congrats.

One time I undocked with my Tempest, and another player undocked with her Punisher. At that strange moment, the Punisher was perfectly right between the two "feelers" of the Tempest between the sails. It's almost like a bug between tweezers.
That's how big the Tempest is.

Scorpion may be small, slow, and, to some, ugly, but it has enough med-slots that you can hold a targert down long enough to wear it down with missiles/neutron blasters.
If I had to choose one battleship to fly for the rest of my Eve-playing time, it would be a Scorpion.

However, that is because of the current (known) imbalance in med slot electronic warfare, rather than the Scorpion being that much fun to fly :)
(insert standard 'because it has eight med slots it got nerfed' discussion here)

I like the scorp, i prefere the raven.
My first BS was a scorp, since that i have had a few ravens and yester day went back to a scorp. The scorp is some what "nerfed" when you think of the release of tech 2 back up arrays. 4 MS ECM will not jam all ships any more and mounting 5 MS leaves you with 3 med to go. You want a XL and you have two. You want a warp scrambler and you have 1 left. Well the last one should be a second warp scambler which leave you with 0 med and a bad lock time.
As a pirate you would like a web to, no room for that ...
When ECM is redone it might be better or worce .. looking forward to find out i must say .

I think we (Caldari) should be the hardest to target. We are the smalest and surly should have some way of lowering the signal radius.

It's got something to do with all the onboard electronics that make Caldari ships light up on enemy scanners like a 500 foot Xmas tree
Station camping, ship jamming, forum spamming, milk drinking, deep thinking, gooner loving, goat hugging, pirate killer............AVE IT LARGE!!!! |
