Seems like you took stuff out of his container but all they did was salvage your wreck, two very different operations within Eve....
That's the difference with EvE, it has a steep learning curve to keep the idiots out! - Good luck back in WoW.

Well yes actually you can steal if you want, admittedly in hi-sec this will get you into various levels of trouble.
WRECKS - Salvaging from them will NOT get you flagged as aggressive, however taking the contents will get you flagged for 15 minutes!

There are two things you can get from a wreck. Salvage and loot.
If you open the wreck, and take its loot, and someone else had made that ship a wreck, you are stealing, and can be shot.
If someone salvages a wreck, it doesn't matter who made that ship a wreck - it's not stealing.
That's where you are confused. ------------------

You are confusing STEALING with SALVAGING. Taking the contents of a wreck (loot) IS stealing. Salvaging the wreck and leaving all contents alone IS NOT stealing.

The guy opened my wrec 3 seconds after i shoot it down and no I COULDN'T shoot at him. The same happened in second asteroid belt. I shoot down the "pirates" and he fast made them empty. And still i couldn't atack him so .... And he didn't left any cargo container ....

If he was shooting at the ship at the same time you were, it's possible the final wreck wasn't yours, either. Just because you're the first to shoot at a ship doesn't make it your wreck. ------------------

Lesson learned: Don't open fire in high sec unless your opponent is flashy red, unless you are willing o sacrifice your ship.
The game does not suck because you don't fully understand its mechanics yet. Looting and salvaging are subject to 2 different sets of rules, both of which are quite deliberate.

Were the wrecks coloured WHITE or YELLOW on the overview ? If they were white, they were yours, and when he looted them, he should have started flashing red and you should have been able to shoot him. If they were yellow, sorry for you, it was HIS wreck, not yours, HE killed the NPC, not you.

What we're saying is that it is far more likely that you made the mistake than the existence of a fault in the aggression mechanics.
Most of the people I've killed in game were people who didn't understand the game mechanics, and started shooting at me.
I no longer bother to talk with them and explain it, because they're generally as angry as you are, and not willing to listen to how the rules work. ------------------

If you are so sure they were your wrecks (white, not yellow) and you are so sure he stole loot from them (full white turning empty white), then PETITION the CONCORD ship loss and BUG-REPORT the whole incident.

There are zero faults in the aggression mechanics. If you believe otherwise, you can file a petition in game.
Although there are some bugs in Eve, there don't seem to be any in the aggression mechanics - otherwise, everyone and their mother would be complaining about this. ------------------

Well you obviously dont understand the game mechanics/rules 100% otherwise you wouldn't be ranting on like there was something wrong with the game. You have obviously done something wrong or miss understood something.
I suggest you calm down, and contact the guy that killed you an ask (name in killmail) why you did not get kill rights against him. He will probably know what you did wrong, and most people are willing to help out a noob.

Wasn't there a bug recently that some wrecks showed as full in the icon even when they weren't and only showed properly when you opened them and saw there was nothing in there? What happenned to that? It seems like the most obvious explanation here. ---- Anything less is wasted effort |

Lets be a little realistic here. One of two things happened:
1) You or people you were with messed up somehow. 2) You became stuck in a special game mechanics warp-zone, and the mechanics magically stopped working for you and only you, while the rest of Eve continued to function normally.
I go with number 1.
I'll be the first one to help a new player in need, but the first thing you want to do is find out how you screwed up instead of blaming game mechanics that work for everyone else.
Take it easy. In Eve, sometimes you kill, and sometimes you're killed. Life goes on. |

Strictly speaking, if you suffered from deuteranopia you would still almost definitely be able to distinguish white from yellow. Even with monochromacy it may still be possible.
That aside, I think you should persevere with Eve. Your postings on the forum so far demonstrate the calm, level-headed approach to giving feedback about the game that is so common among many regular players.
