Yeah, I'm glad you provided an example. 
All jokes aside I don't understand why it's such a big issue to render them, it can't be that intensive a process even if it was run continuously at very low priority it would be better than the current situation.

How does that relate to the problem of portraits not appearing on the forum though?
I've been around since before the last patch which apparently broke portrait rendering ingame (which I think is an unrelated issue?) - my portrait has never worked on the forum and currently I'm told to just wait an unspecified amount of time for it to appear magically.
I know it's only a trivial thing in the grand scheme of things but people get invested in their characters and just seeing a huge ! on the forums is somewhat disheartening. Added to which there is negative connotations towards the mighty ! - there are those that call you a noob or value your opinion based on it.

I'm curious to see the code that's actually behind generating portraits on the forum.
I'm no expert on CCPs code (but I am a programmer) but it strikes me that rendering images is trivially easy in most languages. I also can't really see it being a hugely intensive process either in terms of system resources to do, plus it clearly can be written as an automated process.
If there really is 200k+ portraits left to render (according to another thread), prioritise it according to those of us who are actually active in the game.
I know forum portraits are low-priority, but I don't think you can write off the investment people make in their characters - even if not from a fully RP perspective. It's annoying to have to put up with the ! :(
