First step for low/0.0 learn the skill for a Jumpclone and rise your standing with one corp to 8.0 to install one.
Fitt a T1 frig/cruiser with T1 equip, jump in your clone without IMPs and "discover" some solar systems :). If you found a nice system creat some save-spots (the aren't 100% save but saver then other spots).
Come back later with a ratting- or mining-cruiser and try to do small jobs in low sec. For most lowsecs T1 cruisers are perfectly fine.
For 0.0 cloaking helps alot. To reach a OK fitting + jumpclone + cloaking 2 to 3 million SP should be enough.
oh and learn to read the startmap. pod kills last houre, ship kills last houre, pilots in space and so on. There are planty of ways into 0.0 without camps, just find them ;).

You're all saying null-sec is a more profitable place. How so? I assume it's also accordingly more dangerous . . .
Thanks.

I'm not the hyper experienced pirate you're looking for, but:
Bubbles, If you hit a camp that's going to kill you, your pod is coming too. In lowsec, mashing the 'warp to' button while you ship explodes will send your pod insta warping. In 0.0 that big blue sphere keeps you right where you are.
Isk, Rat's are bigger, roids untouched by man and full of stuff I dont mine. The money made chaining rats in nullsec is fantastic. The money made chaining frigs, cruisers, and the occasional BC in lowsec is not.
No NPC defences. If a pirate is messing around in lowsec in a cruiser, it'll be nearly impossible for he/she to engage on stations or gates. If someones camping a gate in lowsec, it's in a BS or a well tanked bc/hac/hictor. Nullsec offers no such forsight. You might run into a big alliance gate camp and die, or it might just be a b-ranis that gets you.
Territory. Some spots in lowsec "belong" to certain groups. In the end though, these are home systems or stomping grounds. You're being attacked because you're a prey item, and there are predators near by. Nullsec offers to chance to 'own' space. With owning something comes protecting it. Functionally there isnt much difference, people are trying to blow you up. But it's a culture thing, some of the why is different.
Someone else can add more.

One does not simply fly into low-sec
Well, there is really no reason to enter low-sec, there is no increased profit from 0,5, only reason to go there is if you want to shoot people but can't dedicate yourself to a 0.0 corp
Support the introduction of well thought out Amarr solutions!
I believe rats should avoid you if you have high standing with them. |

Clearly another satisfied Blood Blind customer
If I were you I would just assume everyone in lowsec is 'red'. What are you gonna do? Run everytime you see a red in system?! Pirates can smell the fear..., best bet is to fly right up to them as if you didn't have a care in the world...., BOOM hullshot
