Edited by: Kirjava on 09/02/2008 21:43:00 That explains a bit in hindsight - Lucky Stars style was so different I never recognised it as Kyotos.....
They must have been largely responsible for the FMP OVA, loaded with moe-Tessa throughout.... but I am going to go out on a limb and say Vanishment should get priority, I don't want them to end up rushing FMP4 to get started on Vanishment.
Though tbh I hadn't a clue when I saw Haruhi for the first time, knowing they had done Air and Kanon as their only previous works completly by them I was expecting more of the same in that respect. It did have a few elements but Haruhi is still one of their best so far

And it was not only done by Kyoto--it was done by the same animation team as Haruhi, and the same voice actors!
This is why it is widely stated that Lucky Star is a "24 minute commercial for Haruhi."

Bloody hell - they sounded quite a bit different, and tbh I kept wondering why they piched the twins from Clannad and what was essentialy Kaname from FMP.... oh it makes so much sense in hindsight

Aya Hirano did Haruhi (Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi), Konata (Lucky Star), and Misa (Death Note).
Yuko Goto did Ayano (Lucky Star), and Mikuru (Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi).
Minori Chihara did Minami (Lucky Star), Yuki (Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi), and Chiaki (Minami-ke).

Edited by: Kirjava on 09/02/2008 21:57:17 I knew about Misa and Haruhi, I suspected then checked on Wikipedia, I just didn't recognise her as Konta....
Don't know if it interests you, but I just noticed that all the English Tachikoma cast have been hired for the Geass dub after seeing who Nagato's English actor is...... As had the Major - perfect choice for Cornelia.
If it was someone else that was the Geass fan in these forums then disregard that

You know i watched a documentry here in the UK (on channel 4) about this prison. Showed them doing ice ice baby and a sister act song. You know these guys get "bullied" into doing this, if they refuse to participate they get throw in solitery and beaten.

Originally by: Kirjava I found out Season 2 of Haruhi was pushed back - the animators got hired to do Clannad and it got priority, so when Clannad finishes in around 6 weeks Haruhi will get its vacant slot.
Rumors are it may be pushed back further for the 4th Fullmetal Panic season, but I doubt it.
4th?
They made a third?
Jeez, here I am having only seen the first and thinking that there was only that and a second season.

- I didnt know there were many people that were into this series.
Theres the first season, Fuffumo and The Second raid - also an OVA set after the second raid.
4th season should be done after Haruhi, it's based on a light novel and Kyoto seem to have a habit of adaptations as opposed to new material - but they are good at it.

Good. They're prisoners. If they can't do something for the good of the wider world (i.e. entertainment) then they should stfu. ---- One day...one day General will be worth reading.

Regardless if I wanted someone to do an adaptation I would give them the job - they have done everything so far better then the original in my opinion so I can't criticise them there.

...
Haruhi better than the original?
Maybe I'm just partial to books, but c'mon, you can't really say that their adaptation is better than the novels, can you? Especially given the amount of material in them that is pretty much guaranteed to be lost in any translation to the screen: Kyon's snark, Nagaru's insane metaphors, etc.

Awww... I didn't know you were counting Fumoffu, which I sort of saw as a different / offshoot series =( But at least now I have something to look forward to after I buy (and watch) TSR.

The episodes are completely out of order in the same way that Firefly was out of order: a bad decision that results in massive confusion.
