OK, OK, I Admit...
I play WoW and EvE.
Yeah there is a need to grind levels on wow, but it`s the same principle as eve's Skill tree.
With wow, the more effort you put into it, the more you get out of it.. EvE your skills are just as good as someone who plays 30 mins a day to someone that plays 6 hours a day.
Both games are exellent in there own ways..
Just wish CCP would sort all the problems out once and for all instead of working on useles crap just to entice more subsriptions...

Awards are popularity contests.
WoW is extremely popular. It has friendly, forgiving game mechanics that allow for a single player of any game-playing experience to pick it up or put it down, and achieve the "Endgame" within a month or two, at the outside. By the time the review period was over, the reviewer was likely raiding Fred the Fantastic for his own copy of the Super Swordly Powderpuff recommended to him in a guide as how to be "end game"
Eve more than likely podded the reviewer, then scammed him out of his assets when he tried to replace his ship, then mocked him heavily when someone posted his killmail to the forums.
I know which game gets my award.

Doesnt really surprise me. EVE by far has accomplished more and overcome more than WoW ever has. WoW is built off a name, with nothing but cash to throw at tons of coders, publicity, etc.
How many other european MMO's have made it as far as CCP has? afaik not a damn one.
CCP was just a small time company and made it big.

Nope. I want half to 2/3 of them fired or retasked, and the resources dedicated to UI and bugfixes.

You are *****ing about Eve being bugged (yes, it is) laggy (yes it is) and where new players have no chance against older players in PVP (true)...
BUT... i ask you this...
Would you prefer to have CCP MAKE YOU PAY FOR PATCHES AND EXPANSIONS? like Blizzard?
Of course, that would guarrantee a clean game with no bugs at all BUT would you PAY for expansions?
CCP is nice and gives us all good stuff for basically FREE, instead of milking us like cows, like Blizzard does to it's WOW subscribers...
All you guys can do is *****, insead of thanking CCP... jeez...
When i'll see Blizzard make new graphics for WOW and put it on their servers FOR FREE, i won't mind seeing people ***** about Eve being buggy and all...

Thats a little harsh. In ccp's defense They have listened to their playerbase much more than blizzard. the nerf this nerf that isnt just to **** u off, as a beta player to now i can tell you so much has changed its sick, once i could use torps on a thorax. what about that eh, what theyve done sometimes reduces one ship, but overall theyve done a pretty damn good job. Could you go to work every day and make a decision if 300,000 people howled for your blood. ccp devs do it every day. I dont know about you but in the years ive played, ccp has always worked pretty much like clockwork on thier patches and if you play long enough you recognize a pattern in them.
And how dare you knock drunken party animal devs, ill take those guys and fanfest over some sniveling ***** in a ******* suit , ibm wanna be mmorpg producer, ANYDAY

Yeah, okay. TBC wasn't WoW's first patch. And it certainly wasn't the first major content update. Before TBC, They practically doubled the size of the playable world and added hundreds of new features completely FREE. Might I add they fixed bugs and broken content all the time? Granted, they went the SOE route and started charging for expansions which sucks... but that doesn't change the fact that they didn't for years, and they still put out content updates and patches between major expansions for free.
But while we're on the subject, I'd gladly pay extra if it meant CCP would stop updating the graphics engine and start fixing things that are broken. The sound engine would be a good start. UI optimizations too. Or if they're going to mess around with the graphics, they could optimize what's already there; things like toning down the godawful volumetric fog in deadspace (that can still choke some of the newer video cards to death).Or more options for how we see / hear the game. But this, of course, is just a dream.

And yep, they DO design the game to accommodate all of those for ease of convenience... at a cost ofcourse, heck they even rack up multiple account promotions telling you how much easier life would be
The cost to the player isn't just in the wallet either, it's sad how they have degraded (sorry balanced) the game over the years to accommodate the advantages of multiple accounting (examples above)
Realy, thats something you should bear in mind when you see the industry awards being handed out not the player rigged (sorry voted) one that eve wins over at mmorpg.com every year. Game experience and polish to the individual.
In which case games like warcraft and lord of the rings online will allways win outright, because of the glitz and dazzle that goes with an enjoyable experience that people enjoy.

Everything you listed can be done on a single account with the exception of a cyno alt - which is for cap ships, which were primarily designed for usage within an alliance.
Yes, people who have multiple accounts have an advantage - they can get characters up and doing all of those things faster - but this has always been true in any MMO that balances any of it's content around the "It takes more than 1 character to do something" model.

Shame on you all that conserns yourselves about petty awards and other games. A true eve player has no more value of awards from critics then most of us have about the crews on our ships. The rewards will come naturaly. The mmorpg landscape is a war and we have the superior technology,sure it's so new that even ccp tends to rush to operate it without getting all the advanced skills needed while the basic ones are still leveling up,but hey we're all guilty of that too. Stay the course,damn the torpeadoes turn on the nanos,armor,shield boosters and full speed ahead!

Impossible according to bob 80% of eve is attacking them in these types of fleets, so obviously your wrong there.
One time when that happened, the entire node I was on went down. Apparently the resources dedicated to the node that covered our area of space were given to the fleet battle so it wouldn't crash. There were about 25 in my system and we all dropped into frames per minute for about 15 or twenty minutes. Most got kicked. Despite that, they still lagged out based on the storyline posted on the main page.
WoW is for people who want gain without pain so they can be uberleet in their big purple shoulderpads while they dance the macarena as they wait for the next 6 hour raid instance.
