Originally by: Bish Ounen Harem? I would have thought it would fit more into the "Romance" genre. Maybe a bit of both?
Hmm, I suppose that it does go into both catogries but most seem to call it a Harem genre for obvious reasons given the cast.
Originally by: Bigeasy Shakugan no Shana is an ongoing series ive been watching, its good stuff i recommend it.
Got a bit slow and I stopped following around ep 12 of season 2 - any action yet as it seemed to be just a slice of life so far

Its not a spoiler; the statement is completely meaningless until the end of the last episode
I didn't spoil Haruhi for you all those months ago, don't spoil this for me please

Well, yes it does have more romance than the normal harem anime, I grant you and thats part of it's appeal to me. And no sweat about LE, too much good stuff tor remember it all.

Indeed it is, Lelouch's charecter is very well made and unique in modern anime.

Edited by: Kirjava on 21/02/2008 17:28:30 Aye. I watched the trailer for the English Dub. It's getting the 3AM slot on Adult Swim, seems the series wasn't as popular as it could have been in the USA for that time... If you want to here is the link, dosen't sound anywhere near as good in the Japanese cast - but the English cast does have Crispin Freeman as Orange-kun Might look at the first episode in English but they will have to do a lot of work to get it done well - but then most dubs suck arse anyway.... Thats C.C doing the intro iin the dub and the Emperor for the rest btw.
Oh, and for the ending..... look at what we know about the begining of season 2 - most people can't figure it out (it's 1 year after season 1).

I will take a look.
Out of curiosity - everyone that has seen Geass has guessed what C.C's name is from the mouth movements, whats your guess? Elizabeth is my guess

Some people even went so far as to try and piece it together from the after echoes on the sound track. They actualy had him say the name in the script then they edited it out you see. I posted it a while back on the ff forums as her being the elusive Elizabeth that is mentioned a few times in the series, almost as an easter egg.

Welcome to the NHK
We occasionaly slip codewords into corp/alliane chat to find others. It isn't exactly a beacon, but you may have seen someone slip a word in you don't know. Most recent was in my corp when someone said the magic word desu. What followed was a rapid exchange of acronyms and "^^" and ":3".
It's a cult thing.

Youtube is wonderful for this kind of thing. Search for the series name plus the digit 1 and you bypass all amv and get part 1 of a series, with episode 1 at the top.

yeah, oddly enough there is no episode 7 for some reason
There was a disruption last week in the schedule (some sports event), so most anime lost an episode last week.

Excellent.... Geass gives automatic approval by my book.
Death Note - yes that is as much flaimbait as putting an image of someone saying Desu on 4chan. It was an epic failure to continue past the timeskip after 26.
And the term is fanservice for the nekkidness, and there is barely any in Geass.... there is more Pizza Hut refferences than anything else

Their uniqueness is what makes them so good to be honest, I can't think of anything to hand that is on their level....
Maybe Higurashi, its interesting. Murder mystery of the same cast done over and over in more intruiging combinations. It is... very gory and at times I skipped bits, but here are a few of the psycotic laughs.

Originally by: Toasted Trucker is there any other harem animes like Clannad out there someone can recommend?
That I have heard of, thers Kannon (2006 version is better I'm told) and Air. Both of which are made by the same studio as Clannad - the game.
The adaptations... havenmt a clue who did them but out of the few images I have seen I think Kyoto did Kannon aswell as Clannad. |
