The Trinity 1.0.3 patch has been deployed and Tranquility has returned to service. If you have an issue after the deployment, please check the Known Issues page to see if the Dev Team is already aware of it and submit a bug report.
The Trinity 1.0.3 patch was deployed to fix an issue with Incompatible (Protocol) issue caused by the Trinity 1.0.2 patch in combination with a patch in january. Patch notes are available.
Please keep feedback constructive and on-topic. Negative, spam or posts not directly related to the patch deployment, bugs or issues will be deleted.
The Dev Team will be monitoring this thread throughout the next few days to keep abreast of the patch deployment and status.

Cool, but why doesn't the forum index update with the latest poster in 'EVE Information Portal' At the moment it shows only '2008.02.19 19:25:00 by: CCP Wrangler'
This was the case too for the last few dev blogs and the quarterly econ blog.
Just curious.

can the brave soul who downloads the patch and logs on successfully please let us know that everything is ok. I'm desperate to get going today but a tad nervous to take the plunge.

The patch was downloaded but it failed verification indicating that the file is corrupt. Would you like to download the file again?
You will not be able to enter the game until you download the patch.
Anyone have any ideas why?

We've been preparing these announcements ahead of time and just move them in here when we're ready to announce things.

I was also getting Incompatable Protocol no matter what I did.
I use WinXP 64 bit, and the directions to remove the cache didn't help me find them. The only CCP folder I could find was the install folder, and I had still been getting Incompatable Protocol.
What I did to get to where it is now (not accepting connections, 6 players connected) is to *completely uninstall* then reinstall. However, I now see (as I watched the directories go by on the uninstall) that the directions from CCP don't apply to my OS.
If you can't find the folder they're having you look for, try this string instead:
%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP
Then delete (or just move) the EVE folder.
I tried it and it worked for me.

I had to use my old fix (the one I used yesterday) again to gain entry in to the game.
Im running XP with SP2 and had to copy the compile.code from the /script folder to a cache directory located under all users (so not the cache directory where eve caches the igb, maps etc)

Edited by: Sibylla Benedicte on 20/02/2008 14:21:07 I have one BIG problem after 1.0.3. At start a window pops up and asks me to download the patch. I do just that and at the end of the download a new window pops up telling me that "the download couldn't be verified" (or something similar). I then get the option to download it again, which I do, with the same result. The process continues indefinitely. How can it fail to verify itself?
***EDIT*** Issue solved. Only happens when you try to simultaneously update two clients. /facepalm Cadet Sibylla Benedicte (Mining & Transport) - Logistics Division - Hadean Drive Yards

Edited by: Furious Hawk on 20/02/2008 14:24:43 Hehe, this patch gave me a nice chuckle this morning when I patched. The login bar and the "ready to patch" window got stuck after the game closed to patch, and it stuck over my desktop temporarily.

I have installed 1.0.3 patch and i can login now but at character selection screen it stucks at half way loading on all my three accounts running on Vista Premium 32 bit. So now that the logon issue has been fixed, can you guys deploy a 1.0.4 patch to get me past character selection so i can actually play the game One week free game time would be much appreciated for all the trouble CCP caused me in the last two days.
Thx. IcecoldMiner

My patch downloaded fine and started to install, crashed out halfway through installing with an error in some cache5.cache file or something similar and told me to do it again. I went to eve login and all seemed fine - the game has let me login and so far no trouble. ????? WTF!one!111

It worked... almost felt down from chair from laught ;]]]] I'm interested if it will work after today's patch or maybe I'll have change path to uppercase... :)

The linux client is not patching correctly. When I launch the game, I am told that there is an update and that a patch is available for download. I download the 3529k patch, and then the patching app starts. The patch always fails with the following message:
Patching Error in file . An unknown error has occured. Please try to install this patch again.
If this error persists you might want to try reinstalling the game. Error = error ept0029.
Is this something on my end? Or is the Linux patch not working?

I'm running Windows XP SP2 and had to delete the Eve folder yesterday to overcome the patch problem. Today's patch failed with 'Patching error in bulkdata\c4ce.cache' followed by 'Unknown error' and 'error=ept0018'.
However - I seem to be able to log in OK. CCP! Is it safe to play Eve with this error?

The lag sucks, and I play on Classic Eve until I can find the scratch to upgrade my PC an go to premium.
The patch snafus are an unfortunate by-product of bringing a state-of-the-art game to the unwashed masses, most (like me) who know enough about computers to be dangerous but not enough to appreciate the complexities involved.
I get very annoyed at times but will I quit? Not on your life! EVE is the best thing that has happened to me in a long time, the challenge and allure are just what I need to fill in the times between interacting and working in the real world.
When television and movies are as fun as EVE, then I may start watching them with some interest. But for now, the best bang for the buck is New Eden.
I just hope that a concerted effort is being made to smooth out the game performance to get to the level it was before the Trinity expansion.
