You can do an L3 mission with a cruiser... if you have 2 or 3 other friends in cruisers along with you. This is a good way of doing it, is a lot of fun, and I highly recommend it.

Sounds like you got stuck on the warp beacon. Did you move after you warped in from the acceleration gate? ------------------------------------

As far as I know there wasn't any other towers. There was a lot of ships though and many asteroids.
Also..to that other guy. Please don't think you know what happened to me. You don't. My tank was way more than enough to cope with what was coming if I;d be able to keep at the distance I was at. The ships were dying with only a few missiles. However when the bug occurred they were on top of me I got gradually mauled. You should only flame someone if you know what happened....you dont.
I lost the petition, oh well.

If its really a bug create a bug report for it, ofcourse you will need to assure yourself that its really a bug and not an accident on your behalf. And yes rats do web and scramble so it might be that the rats inhibited your movement instead of the mysterious bug.

What's a Warp Beacon?
Is it visible?
Does it have an Icon?

I think it does have an icon yes and yes I moved fine when I came into the area.
Sephra Star, I'm Galactic Tycoon in the game. As explained my account has two characters and the forum seems to take my other character (Mad Smash's) name when logging into the forums.

Wait a second... If you get killed by other ships you don't respawn with your full equipment? That's it! I'm returning to WOW!

Ya know, I recently bought a battlecruiser and have the skills to use it. But it costs 10mil to insure and buying the ship knocked me down to 2mil. So guess what? It's sitting in a station while I work for the last 8 mil with my cruiser.
Consider this a good lesson to NEVER EVER EVER EVER leave the dock without having your ship insured.
Think of insurance as part of the cost of the ship, and never leave into space without it. Expensive lesson, I hope you learned it.

Sit in the rookie help channel for 10 minutes and count the number of times someone asks how to respawn their ship. its a common misconception that games will always let you have your toys back.

Same here. I went a step further and didn't start flying it until I felt I had built up a few skills so I knew I wouldn't lose it easily.
Sorry to rub it in but the story sounds like you just jumped into a battlecruiser literally as soon as you had the skills to pilot it, especially since you couldn't afford (couldn't be bothered?) to insure it.

We like how Eve is, it keeps the crybabies and morons out.
Mommy and daddy aren't here to dry your tears and buy you a new ship.
So either pull your pants up like a big boy or get lost.
If you can't afford to lose it, you can't afford to fly it.
Don't waste the devs' time with this crybaby crap.

Originally by: Mad Smash Also, no the ship wasn't insured, I couldn't afford it. It's so expensive for a noob like myself. I did get 15million compensation though but yeah..
Sorry if this sounds harsh, but if you could not afford even to insure, never mind replace, your ship, then you should not be flying it in the first place.
Eve is harsh, like many have said. It's not "if" you loose a ship, but more like "when". If you can't live with that then you would probably be happier in another game. This is a game for people who can live with the consequenses of their choices.

i agree as a newbie myself.you are going to lose ships.just listen to the advice of the older characters and go from there and of course have fun, losing ships is what this game is about..

Edited by: Mickey Simon on 24/02/2008 16:48:45 My sympathies for your loss. My character's a few months old. I've only just started training for cruisers tonight [I can fly Assault Ships, but that's neither here nor there for the moment]. Perhaps this is a good realisation that it pays to train the other skills, not just the spaceship command skills. Being able to fit your ship well, and then pilot it well is an important part of EVE. You could jump in a new battleship, and I'd probably be able to kill you in my lowly Assault Ship which would be 1/10th the cost, simply because you lack the skills to fly the bigger ships well.
If I were you, I'd stick to cruisers for a little while. Get to know them inside and out, and learn skills which will benefit you no matter what craft you are in. A big part of this game is about losing ships and you handle it a lot better when you can afford to do so [eg: my assault ships are fairly cheap. Fitting them is neither here not there again, but for the large part they equal the purchase cost of a BC. I can lose 2/3 of them a week and still be fine, I've also got 3 ships fully fitted in my hangar as last resorts, just incase I lose my main ship and need another to make ISK to get more ships :D]. So the sooner you realise that losing a ship is a lesson, the sooner you'll be on your way to being highly successful :)
edit: I speeeel reeeeeeeel gud when drunk -_-
