To begin, I was looking for an image from Geass for a new signature. The bit where it has the Emporer bellowing "All Hail Brittania!", and came accross this on youtube.
Genuinly interested I did some further digging and came accorss this on the Daily Telegraph website.
Now to Aliens and Americans, Britain is made out of 4 constituent countries, Scotland, Northern Ireland and England being the well known ones, but Wales (and debatably Cornwall) are not so much. This is mainly because Wales was annexed many centuries ago but devolution has raised this point.
Wales isn't on the Union Jack.
On the Telegraph Page were a few proposals, I liked the following one best, which I wouldn't complain if it became the new British Flag.

That is only when on Land, however since the early years of the 20th Century "Jack" has become the more recognised terminology for the Flag of the United Kingdom.
While technicly correct on your part, internationaly it is more widely known as the Union Jack, and included in the British populace through pride of the Home Fleet in the Post World War 1 era.

I live in Edinburgh but I call myself British and thats what I take pride in.
I just thought the whole Wales thing would be interesting for a debate, I really think devolution was the wrong way to go but alas it won't be till the next general election where I am able to vote.
And to be quite honest, I think centralization in Westminster to be what we should do. People tell me Salmond is the epitome of the independence movement but he seems obsessed and changes his facts too much for my liking.....

True patch, I just used that one as the ice breaker to get the topic started because it looks cool. In honestly the yellow stripe sounds the most conservative and acceptable modification so would be the most likely to get through parlaiment.

Sounds about right, had people talking in a group then someone came in ranting about the English (in Scotland). When I said "realy so how do you propose to solve it?" they stopped talking because,
I have an accent that sounds Scottish in England and English in Scotland,
I am a big person by comparison.
They realy didn't have a clue what they were on about.

The union dull?
St George, Patrick and Andrew crosses are dull.
Rule Brittania to be quite honest, the minority are whining about the English up here and most ignore them.
And yes, that Wyvern does look pretty sweet, but a flag isn't British without blue for the seas.
