yup, thats a fight according to the trinity feature specs. its all a giant raffle. you throw your ticket (ship) into the giant drum (system) and then it goes around and around, does some random things, and after about an hour you either
a.) still not loaded, you show up at any gate later, depending on luck you will be bubbled or nobody is home
b.) you crash to desktop, log back in and see that you for some reason made money while pvping, turns out you got killed.
c.) your pod seems to have 8 railguns and a armor tank with 0% shields armor and structure. you think "hey this is a pretty cool tech II pod" NOT.
welcome to trinity

I say GF to all.
It was fun trying to warp to a SS for 20 mins .
Seeing ships on my overview still after they was reported dead on vent for 20 mins.
I just ask for less IP lag , maybe we should spam the IP and not CCP since we been told over and over there is no lag at all on the severs that CCP has installed , all the lag is from our IP's and our slow cable modems .

There is a project going at CCP to help the lag immensely. It's using a technology called Infiniband.
Personally, I'd like to see this be CCP's #1 priority, above all other new content, fixes, etc. If a developer stops to think about what s/he should be working on, the giant red flashing LAG sign should light up in front of their eyes.
Nothing, and I mean nothing, ****es me off more about this game than getting into a good battle and seeing everyone get completely hosed by lag and desynchs. It's unacceptable, and it's completely ruining the game.
I've seen more people quit over losing to lag than any other single thing in all of Eve.
This deal with the moms is a perfect example. Eve at its finest, pvp at its finest, and what happens? The servers **** everyone up the ass. I'm sick of it.
CCP has a solution in mind, they just need to focus on it. And we need to do whatever we can to make sure that they do so.
Priority #1 - fix the lag |

Not all server platforms use that yet...
but Node based server/database system that dynamically moves nodes/resources would help

Edited by: Hank Showbo on 06/03/2008 13:27:11 Well yea this topic is sort of worded like they would have died without the lag.
I say that they would have survived and killed many of them, 4 nyx, circle remote repping + neuts, can take out fleet battleships like extremely quick, I am certain if they would have been able to control it properly tri would have been organised and focusing fire. And obviously they had a support fleet which couldnt get in because of lag.
Either way this engagement went to lag, and its all assumptions that these motherships would have died if thier wasnt any, personally though...I doubt any of them would have died.

So either a) you're making this up because you weren't there, or b) you were there but are too weak to post with your main.
Either way, it's pretty sad. Priority #1 - fix the lag |

I wasnt there, but I know TRI dont fit thier motherships even close to as bad as the one they killed, they know what they are doing, just something that wasnt the opposing force stopped them from functioning properly.
Are you going to say right now they would have died if the engagement had started and ended with NO LAG? For sure?

We'll never know, now. It might have been a fun fight, whatever the outcome.

Exactly, we'll never know what happened for sure.
Only thing we can pretty much assume at this point is that the bad node was the main reason smashkill didn't suffer many losses.
