BATTLE REPORT FROM DELVE. BoB found it important enough to deploy an abbadon class battleship to NOL. The Battleship,with numerous support, had been the core of a BoB fleet. Built several months ago it had fough in numerous wars. Today a coalition fleet compromised of numerous cruisers, frigs, BC and even TWO BATTLESHIPS OF THEIR OWN launched an attack. The BoB battleship war warped into a gate the coalition forces were attacking. However, it was quickly bubbled. As it's support crumbled the battleship began to take fire itself. But the two battleships of the coalition, with numerous support, ensured it took heavy damage. As BoB reinforcements came in a last ditch effort to save the ship it was destroyed.
What will this mean for BoB? After several hours being built in an outpost this is a severe blow. The two battleships that the coalition unleashed proved their recent edge in the industrial game compared to BoB. discuss

I seem to recall no less than THREE coalition battleships being trapped and destroyed at a BoB pos last week, I enjoy how you toot up your own small achievements, but neglect to remember your own failures.
It's a known fact BoB are able to produce at least 2 battleships per month from their pos arrays in delve, and the coalition has yet to make any successful attacks on them.

Battleships are worthless in combat anyway, they're underpowered for the isk. For the price you could have ten or more cruisers. We were actually going to build one but I heard that Hoegaaaarden took off with the Goonfleet battleship fund to pay for some Puerto Rican *****.

You are wrong. The battleship is the most legendary vessel in the entire universe. I guarantee if there was a universe-wide vote on the legendarily usefulness of a vessel, between cruisers and battleships, the battleship would win.

This was time when MWD's didint have weight classing and WCS were midslot.
scorpion with 8 MWD's was hilarios thing
also you culd tank a fleet in scorpion due to no stacking penalties and other fun stuff :D
EVE was so much beter back in the days :P

nub, the midslot WCS were awesome! (cause no one used them)
Also, blokade running with quad MWD apochs were fun, i remeber using apochs to haul zydrine from Stain to empire and raking major bucks back in the time.
everything and your moms lose thing were shiedl tankked back then. Like apochs with permarunning XL's and all that
and it was quad torp launcher caracals that had same DPS as scorps, BB's were hoestly best pvp boats back then and everyone fitted 1400mms on everything :D cause of no tracking

2 apochs cap transfering you the second you activate, you culd activet all 8 for a single burst :D
You had to remain still when you activated first 4, thus giving you total of araund 6 to 7 seconds of all 8 boosting, but it was fun as you flew right off the grid when you doubleclikked forward. God knows it was useless for anything but safespot busting but fun as hell.
besides, no one used mwd for pvp back then (some odd tron pilots maybe) :D it was only after the MWD classing the dual MWD/ab fittings startted to apear
Oh and the systemap BM safespot busting was one of my favorite passtimes back in the days :D Flying 8 hours with dual MWD punny to find a tempest (hi rebus) was longest one i ever did iirc.

I miss Area Damage on Torps in a way, But Nothing ****ed me off more then losing my shiny new Rupture by accidentally splashing a neutral or a station also

Aye but at the same time it was pretty 50/50, I got saved a couple of times by been pushed away by the missles and been able to warp :P

Flying around in industryship with mwd while at war, stay outside station in 0.9 system and see war target bs undock (those were not many in those days) and see him launch the torps at you, F1 F1 F1 asap to the station.
Splach and the splach dmg from the 1 torp that did hit me but not the station did not enuff to kill industry but it was nice to be in it to loot the BS after the sentrys and concord took him out
Podding each other to splach dmg was the pain thou

Another good one was bumping somone while they was attempting to enter warp, and have a friendly fire torps at you until the splash damage killed them, this only really worked on frigs, cruisers and indys though. And 9/10 you lost the loot.
OH and another, as soon as you come out of warp hit your mwd and you was at full mwd speed :D

While im at it as i dont show my face allot here anymore (thx ccp for noobloving and hating your betaplayers) then i have nice story to tell u ppl.
Once up ona time Zombie went out to have fun, and the ships used were kestrels with mwd and cruise missiles, well in belt in 0.3 system we found this megathron ratting and ofc like good gentlemens we did attack it, and so it went on, orbit at uberspeed and launching the 3 cruisers at time from launchers and reload, but that damn target had smartbomb on hes mega as they did kill allot of missiles incomming in those days.
Fight goes on for some minutes and lag was allot ( yes there was lag in 2003 at some points) but at end that superclass Megathron BS goes BOOM, well how can that be something to tell about, easy gank yeah, or no.
In the lag we had there hes smartbomb went on running after we killed hes ship, killed hes can and poded him self in hes pod, the poor basterd ewen got security hit for the podkill of hes own pod
You dont belive it ?, well i gotta shuffle through my hard disk's and find that Video of " The M3gathronman who poded him self " some day

What a rubbish setup.
Should of used those midslots for the perma-shield tank he could have run using pre-nerf CPRs in the low slots.
Well, you should know, it was BoB (pre-BoB) who asked in local if he warped off...
But yes, we did use the tank as well, I remember Masken sitting in PF- for 15 minutes being shot at by some gang
before he told them to hurry the **** up or let him go! They got upset and left him.

those were the days...can't beleive how bad the game has gotten. Need to start another server. One WITHOUT pos or cap ships. Just good ol' fashion pew pew. It was pure strategy and tactics. Nobody really had an advantage when it came to skill points. Everyone was relatively new and Ruptures and Rifters were deadly. A 30 man gang was considered a blob! Then joined Fountain alliance who was known for its deadly snipers, but we sucked at anything else lol. Those were the days....

i forgot all about the jump in points!! going back 4 years most odd! i remember loving my 3 mwd domi, my heavy drone rax, the only t2 item around were mining lasers!
oh and the hud, clicking though each low med high!!
can CCP do a test server like setup with the first build of eve? there does not seem to be a huge number of people that remember the old days in such details, i only just cause it myself and im over 4 years old in game, then people can log in and see old school eve for many giggling!

How long does it take for an ammar specced cruiser pilot to train for a battleship?
Are they cost efficient? I mean, how long would it take for example to do enough missions to be able to afford one?
I'd really like to fly one, but I'm just not sure it's worth the effort of getting the isk together.

Hmmm... Does anyone think the battleship balances have gone too far?
I mean it used to be that someone with a battleship could roam the skys uncontested but now they are just like some old cruiser.
Perhaps CCP need to put the focus back on...

LOL, yeah man, I lived as a newbie in low sec and could fly in autopilot to Yulai to bring my 10k Nocxium to the market. 1000 players when you started the game was like "wuooooohhh, omfg". Other special attention from CCP to that time, unespected downtimes have beeing reimbursed with one day bonus to your account.
