Thank you for your words Brother. As always our warriors will bring victory or go down with all guns blazing.
It should be noted that the Ushra'Khan did not call for the Nefanter sympathiser Midular to be killed. They price on her head will be paid dead or alive. However, I for one would prefer a more peaceful and civilised way forward.
Many have called for Republic elections in the time after the murder of Karishal. I say it is time to call elections, we may indeed be a minority but let the people of the Republic vote and hear their voices.
If I had the option to cast a vote on this I am sure I would do as many others and give my support to the peoples hero, Malaetu Shakor. Defiant warrior, envoy and diplomat. A strong leader for a strong Matari people.

Hardly suprising you of all people would say that. Given Shakor's notable history. If a terrorist is someone who fights fanatics and tyrants to free his people from slavery then I am a terrorist.
Of course you have many names for us. Terrorist, animal, slave. I have a name for you and all your kind. Target. For as long as you hold our people in chains we will come for them.
Free our people and know peace.

Sad but true. I sometimes wonder why the Amarr are so fascinated by Matari affairs. I only need to break wind and there is a slaver waiting to comment on it's smell.
Sometimes, not often though.

I wonder why the matari are so fascinated with the Emperor Family Academy, you seem to be outside of it every hour of the day, i'm sure if we were to come to your "homelands" and sit outside your main station you would urge your government to declare war on the whole of the Empire.
I also don't get the fascination you have with Gallente ships, being so proud of your heritage and all, its a surprise that most of my confrontations with you involve vessels of Gallente design.

We are there to kill you, for you are our enemy. I have never flown a Gallente ship in my life although many of my Brothers hail from the Federation, being lovers of freedom and enemies of slavery.
Did you have a point that had anything to do with Shakor's statement or did you just come for a sniff?

I have no interest in what you freaks get up to beyond what you do to my people. Set my people free, renounce slavery and we will leave you alone. Simple.
Do I need to point out that I was responding to a comment made by someone I regard as a hero and that you and your slap-head mates decided to start throwing in your two cents or will you just fall silent now and go back to dying?

Edited by: Darius Shakor on 06/03/2008 14:32:06 And so the Amarr come here to twist the argument into another propoganda soap box. How... pathetic. Not wishing to encourage the debate further off track but if you need a clue as to why some of our brothers have an interest in your space, look in your slave pens. You have something of ours that you have no moral claim to. We have nothing of yours that you should dare to feel obliged to take. So if you want a trip back in time Rodj, I think you will find who the real aggressors are.
As for Malaetu Shakor, it is good to see he at least can put aside the skewed politics of inter-Matari affairs and disagreements to support his brothers. Something that I think we Matari need to do more often. Anyone reading any further into his statement and attempting to pull it appart on their own principals especially could use an eye opener. Malaetu Shakor is a great man, and he shows this greatness in everything he does. Including setting an example of true unity that we could all follow.

Well said Brother Darius. Well said.
Malaetu Shakor has earned the admiration of Freedom Fighters and Republicans alike. His audacity and courage in the face the enemy is legendary.
True Matari unity, now wouldn't that be a thing. Perhaps in time and perhaps under the banner of the Shakor clan. For now however there are some things I for one cannot compromise on as well you know.
I sense a change on the wind though, perhaps the time we have long awaitred draws near. Until then fly free.

Get real, people, it's a bloody tournament, not a political field of war. Go Ushra'Khan!
Though one cannot help but to wonder that had EM not been too late to register and made it to the tournament, would Malaetu Shakor really preferred to support a loyalist team?

From his comments, one might draw the conclusion that he would support both pro-Matari teams, regardless of politics...
But all in all, perhaps it's for the best that Electus Matari is not in the tournament. After all, the commentators are having trouble enough dealing with the success of one Matari team; imagine the fits they'd be having if there were two Matari teams, both leading in their respective divisions?

Unfortunatly most slavers lack the intelligence and (by lack of better words) balls to walk to the butcher themselves.. instead they provoke others into doing it for them..
And they tell me Amarrians aren't lazy.. pff.
It was like a baby, it landed on my lap and was helpless and totally defenseless. Then I shot it and bragged about it on a killboard.

Malaetu Shakor made it rather clear when he didn't resign from his post in the tribal government that he supported the peace policy between the Empire and what CONCORD stipulates is a Matari republic.
I would ask that the pilots flying Ushra'Khan banners not disrespect the man with their exhortations. To put words in Shakor's mouth over a sporting event is to destabilize the peace policy and Shakor's office. This is less than the response the man deserves from the sports team he is supporting on the basis of their genetic descent.

Foolish Slaver. We put no words in his mouth, they were recorded at the Republic Parliament.
However the filth that fly under the banner of the Empire have in the space of a few short posts claimed his words and deeds are proof that Shakor is both a supporter of terrorism and the peace treaty with the Amarr. Hypocrisy and double talk at it's Amarrian best.
Some Matari respect and honour Shakor for what he did as a freedom fighter. Some Matari respect and honour Shakor for his work as a politician. I can understand how that must frighten the Amarr and why you feel the need to crawl out of the woodwork to gibber at us whenever a Matari speaks in public. Really it would be better to stay silent until you have some factual point to make though.

Agreed; it shows disrespect to this great man to put our words in his mouth; we should allow his words to speak for him. Without further ado, the words of Malaetu Shakor, head of the Republic Parliament, and a man respected by the Amarrians for his efforts to keep peace with the Empire:
Quote: The liberty of our people is solely our responsibility. Tempting as it is to foist this burden upon our well-wishers, we must never forget that the onus of our emancipation rests with us and us alone.
For too long, our proud people have been subjugated to the whims of enslavers, forced to endure relentless suffering and humiliation at the hands of people whose motivations, masked though they may be by florid religious claptrap, remain as base and despicable as those of the playground bully.
If ever there was a time to rise -- if ever there was a time to join hands with our brothers -- that time is now. At this exact junction in history we have within our grasp the means to loosen our tormentors' hold and win freedom for our kin. Opportunities are there to be taken.
Brothers, we must rise.
-Malaetu Shakor, Republic Parliament Head Speaking before the Tribal Council November 27th, YC 107
(One further contextual tidbit I'll add to this: the "means to loosen our tormentors' hold and win freedom" to which he was referring was the Ragnarok-class titan; that being the topic of his speech.)
You see, Captain KorAzor, in the Republic, there are voices of dissent allowed even in the government itself. This distinguises the Republic from the Empire, where any who's views differ from canon are considered heretical.

Actually, I admit I don't understand why all the discussion on this matter has taken place. Sure, the Ushra'Khan are terrorists, but Mr Shakor was so too in the past, before the Royal Guard taught him and he was rescued by the Jovian. It should be no surprise that he vouches for the Ushra'Khan.
And I admit I understand it. Being the main Minmatarr "loyalist" alliance participating in it, I see nothing wrong in him vouching for them. Wouldn't any of you support another Amarr Alliance, even if you had your differences with them, if a similair case came? Everybody should get real. This is politics, and Mr Shakor is a veteran and wise politician. What he just did is a clever political move. No one will be able to claim that he "publicly supported" such a position, because of how it was recorded, and yet he has said what the Parliament thinks on the issue. And with the growing tensions between the Amarr and the Minmatarr due to the Defiants in the Bleak Lands, it is a claim of support behind the Defiants (with whom he shared name once). It's a wise move, and a logical one too.
Don't go around after him for that, and support the Amarrian teams. Amarr Victor is enough, let them claim "Minmatarr Victor".

I see no issue with a Minmatar wishing other Minmatar well in a contest, especially when those Minmatar are doing so with their victories dedicated to the Republic.
I doubt the Republic would freak out if the Privy Council supported CVA in such a case, even though to the Minmatar, CVA is evil.

So a difference of opinion is double talk? Open-mindedness is hypocrisy? You harm your own image with that sort of lowbrow submission. If that's the extent of your wit, best keep it hidden somwehere, because it's worthy of only shame. Quote: I can understand how that must frighten the Amarr and why you feel the need to crawl out of the woodwork to gibber at us whenever a Matari speaks in public.
Is it just your little thoughtless attempts at insult you will attempt to level against my statement, or do you have anything of merit to bring to bear?
Being rude is easy, but it is also a child's game. Childishness does not suit capsuleers. Originally by: Becq Starforged It's rare that I agree with slavers, but this time I must. Let Malaetu Shakor, head of the Republic Parliament, and a great hero to the Matari people, speak for himself...
Let his actions also serve as indication of his alliegance - he has not abandoned his office in the parliament, and thus is loyal to the government whose head of state you publically derided. Claiming he supports you in any true ideological sense at this point is hilarious, because the man pledges alliegance to the forces in the Republic's government that you reject. You can't turn your backs on the central element of said government and then go and claim that the head of parliament is your secret best friend. One of these things is not like the other, alright, captain? One of these things just doesn't belong.
Quote: (One further contextual tidbit I'll add to this: the subject of this speech, what he referred to as the "means to loosen our tormentors' hold and win freedom" was the Ragnarok-class titan.)
(You're not the only one to read capship descriptions, mate :P Now quit making OOC comments in here! Bad.)
Quote: In the Republic, people think for themselves, thus there are voices of dissent even within the government itself. This distinguises the Republic from the Empire, where any who's views differ from canon are considered heretical.
Not quite. You see, the Empire isn't a hive mind, so they actually have things like intelligent discourse and debate there, just like everyone else. If you're going to criticize Amarrians, don't try to criticize that, or the fact that our society integrates spirituality into its moral codes. It simply won't turn out well for you if you criticize Amarrian successes.

It's amazing how some people comment and spin about anything. A great, the greatest living Minmatar in my opinion, made a comment of support for a Minmatar team. So what. Who should he voice support for? Be real people and let the simple things be left alone. We have enough to worry about with all the complex things.
