Many of you have probably wondered what was going on behind the scenes at CCP. We have done our best to keep you updated through the Message Of The Day (MOTD) and the Downtime News page. During the deployment of Trinity 1.1: Booster Patch we discovered that specific items in the database had been incorrectly updated due to an error while updating the database. This meant that we had to go back and retrieve data from a backup that had been performed earlier in the process. Due to unforeseen delays, the process for restoring this data and doing the necessary integrity checks took longer than anticipated.
With the delays originating from the restoration process itself; it was very difficult to give an exact ETA. We regret any inconvenience these delays may have caused.
We would love to hear your thoughts and feedback on the latest changes presented. Please keep all feedback to this thread; all other will be locked and redirected.
For details on the changes made in this patch please take a look at the Patch Notes.

There are some issues we are aware of, these include:
(Some) missions accepted before the patch are giving a Mission briefing corrupt error and have to be restarted.
Balancing the Books (4 of 10)
Extensions.dll file missing in the premium client after the upgrade.
There may be render issues and error spam when shot at by NPCs.
A variety of forum bugs, including the loss of the show images button, lack of tags for some people(not a nerf of CAOD!)
These are all currently been worked on by our pizza fuelled devs. Mitnal, Community Representative

I am using eve with the /LUA:OFF option and it appears that the settings location moved from "./cache/settings" to "./settings"
Yup, same here. Looks like CCP coders need to invest in some memory implants, cause their natural memory is not enough to remember where they keep settings
The settings location when using the /LUA:OFF switch changed from "...\cache\settings" to "...\settings". But please note that we don't support the /LUA:OFF switch.
Settings are stored in
- C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility\settings
(assuming default paths for Windows settings and install folder of the EVE client).
This allows settings for different installs and different servers to be kept separate, if you also have installs for Singularity or Multiplicity.

Originally by: Kalissa The cyno effect is now missing, if you jump a capital or use a jump bridge the ship just sits there for a couple of seconds then the new system loads
Yes, we noticed a day before deploying that the new Black Ops cyno effect has caused issues with the normal effect. It's been fixed internally but no release date set.

In addition to my other replies: I've sent internal requests for the "1152x864 issue" to be reviewed, for a FPS comparison to be done and for the "Alt+Tab issue" investigated.
Some have asked why there haven't been any dev responses here since the deployment. We have been investigating random node deaths as a top priority, working evenings, into the nights and this weekend.
Sunday afternoon was my first opportunity to read the forums and respond to the issues raised here.

Originally by: Ab Tallen The "random node death" thing is getting really ridiculous. Since the patch, systems have been falling over left and right in Fountain.
Fixed in today's DT with the deployment of server-side change Trinity 1.1.0-4.

Is there any ETA on having the Starbase API working again? I'm sure you can imagine it is quite an issue for those who have migrated to new API-based tools for corp management, only to find those tools disabled.
We're investigating this issue.

To quote CCP Lingorm: "We are looking into the reported frame rate problem. The issue is we have no solid reproduction case for it. We also have conflicting results in that while some people report FPS reduction, others with the same cards report a gain in FPS."
That being said, we are looking into a possible scenario where a possible loss of FPS may occur in certain cases. A particular code change is being examined. Sorry for being very vague but we are looking into this issue.

We believe we resolved the FPS issue. A change made in Trinity 1.1 to planet rendering was causing an FPS drop in systems with many planets and moons. The issue has been fixed internally and we plan to release it soon in the next client update.
As soon as we made this fix then a stellar object of unknown origin appeared in the sky. We are still at this time investigating this curious phenomenon.

The plan is to release this fix as soon as possible when it has cleared QA. I'll provide an update when I have more details on the release schedule.

The FPS fix will be on Singularity once it's at build number 52102 or higher.

I'm wondering what they mean by 'next few days'? Few in comparison to what?
From a long experience in software development I've learned never to promise exact dates until the final build is there. (Waterfall doesn't work, iterative methods do.)
So you will definitely not find me posting any information here that Trinity 1.2 next week will contain this fix along with adding the 1152x864 resolution back, fixing forum portraits, fixing jump portal animations, adding the ability to right-click and buy skill through the character sheet, a lot of fixes to the market filtering, moon brackets are displayed again, two fixes for issues when changing the display adapter, and many more.
Nope. You won't find it at all.
And if it doesn't happen then it's because I didn't say it was going to happen.
But this is all on Singularity right now, version 4.12 build 52510 LIVE, I'm not letting out any secrets. Go and check it out.

Tested successfully. Moving in space is now flawless on my Classic machine. FPS on current Singularity patch is higher @ 630MHz than on Tranquility running @ 900MHz! Good work.
Thank you and good to know it's working well. Trinity 1.2 will be released 15 April.

Thanks for finding the Wikipedia link, I only found "iterative as in iteration" so I settled for Agile. Should have used Google to search instead of Wikipedia search...
Regarding the Alt key, I refer you to a post from CCP Tuxford. My personal view is that using overview tabs and Alt+Z work really nicely to switch between current bracket filtering and showing all brackets (note, you need to save an overview setting to a tab). I know that not everyone agrees and we will do another iteration.

It has been restored in an internal build, should be out on SiSi in a couple of weeks. Will be included in the EVE Online: Empyrean Age expansion.
