I'm having the same problem. I tried changing all of the settings to 24 bit with 8 bit stencils, and it increased my frame rate up to a whole 9fps from 7.5. Of course that could have happened since I was flying out of the station at full speed too. The weird thing about this is, it's only in certain solar systems. When I logged in in Deltole, I was getting an average framerate of 32 fps, but I noticed that the instead of smooth lines in the fps window, I was getting sawtoothed lines, like the frame rate was jumping up and down at a regular interval. I just figured it was lag due to the connection throttling and the number of people downloading the patch. After playing for a few hours, I have noticed that some systems I go into, my frame rate drops to between 5 and 15 fps. The only time I've ever gone under 20 fps pre-patch is when I was in an area where there were hundreds of wrecks, which is entirely understandable.
I'm running the classic client, with a geforce fx 5200 with 256 mb of ram @ 1600x1050 resolution (which ran fine tuesday). I also just started playing this game and was billed for my first month yesterday. And yes, I have tried adjusting resolutions, turning all of my settings on my graphics card down for performance, turning off all unneccessary programs running in the background, setting the priority of the program to "high" in task manager, and generally messing with every setting available to try and increase performance, all to NO AVAIL.

/bump
Reinstalled everything including windows xp pro, the eve client, all current drivers, nice and fresh. And the patch works just as horrible as it did from the moment I installed it. Please address this issue, and let us know that you are working on it. FPS inside of the station is actually not bad at all, but outside, it's a nightmare.

Originally by: Quani Why is CCP bothering to fix a few missions when they have people who can't even play the game anymore due to FPS issues.
I was wondering the same thing. My first month's subscription was paid on Tuesday, 2 days later, the game is hardly playable, and there is no response from CCP other than my bug report saying that the bug was attached to a defect. Well, that's pretty obvious. Some information regarding this issue would be much appreciated.

Is no one willing to solve this problem????
I don't know, but this thread has managed to steadily grow, while the lack of information regarding what CCP is doing about it amounts to zero. If this were a free to play game, I'd expect this. However this is not a free to play game, and CCP or one of its representatives should show a bit of consideration to its paying customers regarding this and all of the other issues that have arisen from patch deployment. I'm not asking for an ETA (although it would be nice to know, subjectively speaking), but just a simple acknowledgement of the issue at hand, and confimation that it will or will not be addressed in the near future. Show us a little consideration please.

They're not going to address it, as the majority of users are fine. After a week, they obviously don't care.

Originally by: Brutal Psycho Well I just checked my submitted bug report and it states it has been attached to a defect. So, that to me is acknowledgement of the fact something is broken. Now to wait for the fix.
The bug report I submitted a week ago says the same thing.

Yep, the more moons in a system, the more drastic of a fps drop. Systems with 2-3 moons, no fps issues.

C'mon CCP. I know you can do it. Honesty and integrity will take you a long way. At the very least, reply to our cries for help and let us know where you stand on this issue, so we can make an informed decision upon what to do. Your game is awesome, but you need to respond to your customers. If you can't do it yourself, hire me to do it, or hire others to do it. Inform us as to what you are doing regarding this issue. I personally believe that you are hard at work at something, and probably don't want to delve into what it is, but WE THE PEOPLE, deserve an answer.
