I am getting nearly unplayable FPS in areas where the game ran perfectly before the patch (newbie minmatar space). I have every video setting turned down as far as possible but it doesn't help.
I asked in corp chat, and there were a few others who were having the same issue.

Me too. Used to comfortably fly from 35 to 50 FPS in space now it is stuck at 13..15 no matter what graphic settings I use. I can't play more than a minute before I get seasick.
I re-installed EVE from scratch; no changes.

Chalk me up with that problem too... ran decently smooth yesterday at 1680x1050 with my old geforce3 64 meg (for some reason EvE lets my card run that res while no other programme else will), but today after patching using the same rez (and even rez's far lower than that) the fps unplayable (id say in the 10-15 range, when before it was within the 30-40/50 fps range when just traveling around doing nothing to hectic).
This is with the classic client. - The Boot.ini Incident glances off your EvE Install causing no real damage! - |

I had the same problem, but was able to fix it.
Go into graphic settings make sure you have stencil buffer and 24bit colour with 8bit alpha enabled. That put my framerates back to where they were (about triple what it was initially post patch)

Same here my trinity client dropped about 20fps. And my eve classic client on my other comp crashed to 9fps from about 45fps. Pretty bad stuff. - - - -

hmm ill give that try might work, since I was using the 24bit without the 8bit stencils - The Boot.ini Incident glances off your EvE Install causing no real damage! - |

Bump up post. Same problem here. My Frames per second dropped considerably after the patch. Its turtle slow at 10 - 12 frames per second out in space. I used to be able to run two clients at 1152 x 864 resolution without much trouble. Now I cant even run one client without the slow frame rate.
I am using an ATI All in Wonder 9800.

I used to play using the 1152x864 res. Still want it back as 1024x768 is to small and the 12xx resolutions are to big for my screen. I'm also feeling its laggy even at the lowest resolutions and I cant find out how to set my HZ. Looks to me as its running on like 60 HZ, hurting my eyes. ---------- Kill them all - God will recongnize his own. |

I'm having the same problem. I tried changing all of the settings to 24 bit with 8 bit stencils, and it increased my frame rate up to a whole 9fps from 7.5. Of course that could have happened since I was flying out of the station at full speed too. The weird thing about this is, it's only in certain solar systems. When I logged in in Deltole, I was getting an average framerate of 32 fps, but I noticed that the instead of smooth lines in the fps window, I was getting sawtoothed lines, like the frame rate was jumping up and down at a regular interval. I just figured it was lag due to the connection throttling and the number of people downloading the patch. After playing for a few hours, I have noticed that some systems I go into, my frame rate drops to between 5 and 15 fps. The only time I've ever gone under 20 fps pre-patch is when I was in an area where there were hundreds of wrecks, which is entirely understandable.
I'm running the classic client, with a geforce fx 5200 with 256 mb of ram @ 1600x1050 resolution (which ran fine tuesday). I also just started playing this game and was billed for my first month yesterday. And yes, I have tried adjusting resolutions, turning all of my settings on my graphics card down for performance, turning off all unneccessary programs running in the background, setting the priority of the program to "high" in task manager, and generally messing with every setting available to try and increase performance, all to NO AVAIL.

in windows set the display mode to 1024x768 , then set the refresh rate for that mode [it defaults to 60hz], then set the video mode back to what you want. when eve switches to that mode it will use the refresh rate you have set - this is a windows problem that has been around since DX8 [or eailer] -- BIG Lottery, BIG Deal, InEve & Portrait Server

same issue here. im getting an atonishing 5 fps consistently doing NOTHING in space.
i dont have the option to change the hertz amount when going to window mode. and turning on the 24 bit buffer with the stencil boosted me maybe .1 fps
im using an old geforce 3 so i dont have a lot of power to start with, but i could still get 10 fps in a fleet fight

Yeah, looks like yet another fps drop after patch. I used to have 70ish in space after RMR, and now i get only 20ish with in space, with no new graphics candies added. Where the F our fps have gone???

Tell me about it, it has wrecked my whole display. You can run it in windowed mode but then fps takes a huge hit and its close to impossible to run double clients.

heres something i have been wondering about, Players who have bad fps in game, in low sec fps drops to 11fps or thereabouts for most folk i have spoken to.. in 0.0 it drops to a pathetic 5fps and in empire it drops to around 15-20. and in station it sits around 40+ could this be a Network timer data call issue?as more things that need to load into enviroment are responding with a higher fps..or is this just speculation?

dxdiag reports tend to be about 3 posts long.so you may need to post the entire info... if your concerned about security then blank anything that may be relevent to your computer name, directory names etc. however i have also seen that a player who is getting low Fps is recieving an insane amount of blocked calls from the server network wise..can anyone confirm this?

Please submit bug reports with your DXDiag files and eventually Logserver files if you have them. As we are unable to reproduce this internally in a consistent manner, we need to isolate the possible hardware/software causes that might be related to this issue.
The bug reporting page is HERE. Instructions on how to save DXDiag files and on how to use Logserver are HERE.
Thank you.

I get the best FPS when I set the windows desktop to 16bit, and both Eve graphics settings to all 16bit. Looks like crap but it's the only way I can run 3 clients on a geforce 6200 now. Surprisingly setting the desktop to 16bit doubled my FPS.

didn't help me, running with 24+8bit color and desktop @ 32bit yelds me a blistering 0.5-1 fps more than 16bit/16bit...

bug report sent, hope you find a fix.
watching my network moniter in-game, i was a see 91 blocked calls when i was just sitting in space. that is a server side issue of calls not making it to my client from the server correct?
