Major patches always cause issues like this, this has been about average, I think. Be glad you weren't around for the boot.ini incident.
They usually have the vast majority of the problems worked out by the next week. ---------------- Tarminic - 33 Million SP in Forum Warfare Play EVE: Downtime Madness v0.79.2 |

This patch was worse than the norm. In time you will see that when CCP does some work on the database there is a series of unscheduled downtimes to correct stuff that fell through the *****s.
Eve is in essence just a graphical interface on a massive database (market, skills, module effects etc), so any time changes are made there is bound to be something unexpected crop up when the code is launched on Tranquility (35000+ people generate a lot of data to be processed after all). Once this latest batch of database errors have been resolved most everything will stabilise and guides to exploit/use the changes will pop up (Hint: Someone please make a guide for the tabbed overview!)
As for the whines that seem to happen after patches .. put that down to human nature. Everyone will attempt to make the world suit their needs/playstyle in order to have a more enjoyable/easier time when playing. You see the same behaviour in real life as well. Why walk when you drive, or drive if you can fly - and goddess forbid your neighbour having stuff that you don't!
Once in a while a change is proposed that generates such an avalanche of diverse feedback that it is cancelled pending further investigation (latest in this category is the Deimos slot swap).
My only wish is that people would at least make an effort to make their posts legible. Whines can be quite enjoyable to read if well presented and argued.

Trinity patches havent been great, the biggest fubar was the boot.ini issue, doesnt seem CCP cared that it ****ed ppls machines. To be honest doesnt seem they care about anything. Usually patches have issues some big some small.

Thats why people should complain about it because if people just live with it how will things ever improve, why put the effort in because everyones just living with it. Im not ripping on CCP it demanding refunds or anything stupid all im suggesting is that because its clear that their testing process could do with some love perhaps they should do just that.

I have been playing for around seven months, and this does in fact seem the be the norm. The boot.ini issue was the worst I have seen so far, and the worst in any game I have ever played. I have never known another game patch to render a computer unbootable.
Eve seems like a good game that could be a great game if it weren't for the diligence of the CCP staff.
Bearing this in mind, and also the fact that Eve is the kind of game that you need to play for many months (more likely years) to get the most out of it, you need to remember that you will be paying around ú130 per year for this hassle.
I'm hooked. I don't like CCP and I don't like the way they do things, but I like many aspects of the game. I intend to keep playing for a long time.
You'll know whether you like the game enough to put up with the crap and still spend money month after month on it.
