To clarify a concern that has been raised, if a someone isn't listed in my posts at the beginning of the thread then they either didn't apply or didn't meet the acceptance criteria. We can't divulge information on specific applicants so if you are concerned that someone you were supporting isn't listed, all we can advise is contacting them and asking them about it. I quite like the idea of the Panamanian guy, just because he likely to have an unorthodox, for me, worldview.
And the Belgian, hell if those guys can do without a government because they were tired of assclowns then he may shake stuff up.
Toughie really, as whoever get's in is going to have to get over the debacle that was the "Emergency CSM Summit". No point in covering that sad affair here.
From a voting point of view I would like it to matter who represented us, rather than it just be a form of pseudo celebrity for a bunch of attention junkies to wax themselves.
Obviously, you vote and you take your choice of candidate based on you own personal reasons etc.
However, what do folk think about the concept of a CSM?
Does having a CSM add anything for you guys? No carping here, I'm not on a rant, I just want to canvas opinion on the whole concept of it.
A little bit of fun and interest once a year whilst folks stoke up their network leverage to see what they can do? I think that guy Skindhu did a talk on netwoks and influencers at a fan fest a while ago etc
Or a real attempt to garner feeback and manage expectations and communications?

Could you post the final list here with final "like" count at the end of the nomination proccess.
Also is the order of candidates random on that page? If not it needs to be to keep things fair. |

Is it possible, that in the list of canditates it says shortly what the canditates stands for. Like a phrase or something short. Its now painfull to read every canditates post to get a picture, what are they going to bring on the table. For example:
nameLink1 : "More same old FIS, less everything else."
Or a list example: Pro: walking on stations: nameLink1, nameLink4... new player experiense: nameLink3, nameLink4... flying in space: nameLink2
Against... mining changes: nameLink, nameLink2, nameLink3... capital nerf: nameLink2, nameLink4...
Hope to see this soon =)

The order is indeed randomised. We don't have plans on releasing "like" numbers as it's not really related to the final part of the voting process; there are some player created tools that have done this though (like this). CCP Diagoras - Like EVE stats? Follow me on twitter! |

This would be good to get; sadly I don't think this will be possible for this election but we are looking into ways to modify the system to make things clearer. Again, some player tools summarising views and such (namely Vote Match) are good for this. CCP Diagoras - Like EVE stats? Follow me on twitter! |

CCP - please kill this folly and hire a first rate marketing firm.
What corporation in the top ten thousand corps in the world has a customer advisory council elected by the customers? Customer advisory board, yes, but never elected by the customers.
All at large candidates? You end up with one view point or all individual viewpoints - nothing representational of the voter base!
Please modernize your business practices - this is more like a neighborhood association and just as petty.
Please don't take my abstention as voter apathy, but a lack of variety among the candidates.
I want a game I can play, not a system in which I must be a political organizer to get a decent game put together - That is not how a great many of your customers want to spend their game time.
Please, hire a first rate marketing firm, have them produce quality customer surveys and let the customers fill them out periodically. Use your knowledge of your demographics to appeal to new customers and quality assurance questionaires to keep in touch with your existing customers. You could select a slate of candates at random and get input as valid as you will from any group of people who are there representing their own interests as any CSM panel will do.
Just remember, the only people they represent are the ones who voted, so if you get a ten percent turnout, the "winners" will be representing just over half of that number and even if it is a landslide with the winners taking every vote cast, they will still be representing only ten percent of your customers. Take every non-vote as a "none of the above" vote.
It ain't apathy, it's disgust.
OH - and fix this damn forum that fails just about every first try to post something. Anyone who want to post anything has to copy it and try to get it to "take" the second or even more attempts - or failing that, just do a rage walk away, have one more irritant to deal with, and no one gets their viewpoint. |

I have suggested the same many times before, just not as brilliant as you have. They could just as easily have an opening screen survey to get what the majority of players want.
The present method fails on so many levels it stinks. (No pun intended.)
Remove the CSM completely and save the money spent to fly useless bags of water to Iceland. Use that money saved to invest in a marketing firm that will give you true indicators of what the majority wants. Current method only facilitates the wants and wishes of the people like Mittani who have clearly stated they care nothing for anyone who doesn't vote for them.

Yeah... really. I mean we wouldn't want anyone up there that doesn't understand the correct way to post charcters for sale like the CSM I saw post a few months back. Better yet someone in there that doesn't understand wormhole mechanics would we?
Praytell let someone in that wants to do away with all minerals in WH space!
Oh... I heard a rumor that one of the current CSMs wants to do something about Tech II ships/items and trade hubs? What is all that about? Something about risk/reward for hi-sec again? |

I think Issler Dainze has been overlooked as a candidate who could garner serious amounts of votes if the average high-sec player who wants to venture further out wants to be represented, particularly the industrialists. My cooking is like my lovemaking - fast, greasy, and unsatisfying. |
