Edited by: Jake Noble on 21/03/2008 01:02:21 And here was me writing up a massive troll to post. Nice payment for most dedicated corp in RA.
And yes they were booted from RA for not obeying. Signature removed and advised that using RL photos of players without their permission is not acceptable. Navigator |

Wow, about all I can say.
Removing 1/8th of your alliance is a pretty bold move. Can't say I don't disagree with their leadership's reasoning however.
From my point of view, was just too many "strong" leaders who all wanted things done their way, and no one "true" way for RA. This split will probably be better for both parties, unless of course Solar Dragons decide to take a vindictive stance, and become anti-RA pirates. Or if most of the members of Solar Dragons decide to leave their Corp leadership, to remain with their Alliance leadership.
Very interesting, I wish good luck to both parties involved.

MACTEP's corp, Solar Dragons, were kicked without warning from Red Alliance earlier today by nync. For anyone who doesn't know, SDG are one of the old school RA corps that fought 5ive and the 'first' coalition. At the time, MACTEP was the RA leader with his successor nync taking over following the LV war.
SDG POS in the drone regions will lose sovereignty and their outpost might become vulnerable soon. I'm not too sure what effect this has on the war over there, because I haven't been keeping track.. But I'd guess they will lose a few weeks of progress in kicking ATLAS.
There has been some internal drama over the fact that everyone in the alliance is doing their own thing. SDG and some other corps are warring in the drone regions from their private outpost. I'm being told these will most likely leave RA and create a new alliance with SDG. If that happens, the station probably will become vulnerable. I haven't checked if RA have given standings to SDG for removal of assets, but I imagine it would be hard felt betrayal if they don't.
Otherwise, nync's corp and a few others are monopolizing Dysprosium and Prometium moons around EVE, raking in what someone once estimated to me was over 400bil a month. I don't think its that high, but either way they're taking it seriously.
And of course, there are people fighting BoB, roaming across EVE, carebearing and generally doing their own thing.
A friend connected to this seems to have an interesting theory: RAT and Solar Dragons still dislike each other from the days when RAT splintered away to form AAA - and it was they who lobbied for SDG removal.
Speculation only, but I can easily see that MACTEP having a loyal base of supporters would be a problem to nync.
XenoBytes are more or less invading Coalition space, who are not likely to get assistance from their Russian allies. If the SDG thing goes down harder, you could have three fronts (with the third being BoB).
Four fronts if you include the fact that AAA leaders are, once again, considering removing IAC standings over some recent treacheries.
Given that there are about a hundred different Russian groups in EVE now, and hundreds more with Russian members.. its a bad time to be expecting nationalist identity to fix all problems.
And a great time to offer your services as Grand Tsar of the Holy Red Armada. Privjet O_o _Voo _______________________________ http://epicwords.net/ |

Pretty damn amusing that the drone regions fear a lone 200 man corporation as Alliances that have 10x more members.

That's because GoonSwarm did a pretty good job of padding RA's reputation. Back when GS was still justifying the alliance to its members, you were saying ridiculous things like how RA bravely stood up to a force of 10,000+ with almost nothing.
Of course, most people don't realize just how close RA were to being broken, or what they did to survive. 3 year old details get in the way of good lore _______________________________ http://epicwords.net/ |

I'm sure taking C-J and booting ERA and every other alliance out until we got down there was just a fluke since they're just a bunch of logoffskis.

No, but by then, they weren't under threat of retreating to empire. I'm not dissing RA's achievements, but you're sounding surprised that people are wary of them without ever having fought them.
The more impressive thing with RA is their capitalistic prowess. I don't think any other group has focused on becoming stupidly rich as consistently as they have. _______________________________ http://epicwords.net/ |
