I just saw the 3rd season finale for BSG and it was awesome. AWE SOME.
wow
Easily one of the best episodes of the series. I can't wait until the 4th to see what happens next. The writing was just great, and the suspense really built well. The music added to this greatly. And speaking of music, what a cover of "All Along the Watchtower". I kept saying to myself, "I know this song. Why can't I think of it's name?" So very well done.
***Spoiler alert***
I did pretty much guess who the Cylons were thanks to the strange music, which didn't really connect with the song until I heard the regular version later and it all fit together, but what a revelation. I kept thinking, "No, that can't be it, it's too obvious." But it worked so well the way the writers developed it. And their reaction was totally unexpected. They didn't do the stock, "Destroy all humans!" thing one expects in these circumstances. The uncertainty leaves so much open for the final season. Definitely one of the best climaxes in the show, and that's hard to do after so many.
And this raises a big question about Nicky. Isn't he just as much of a hybrid as Hera? What does this mean for the future?
And who's the fifth? In the Eye of Jupiter episode, Xena (I can't remember her show name) surely had to have seen the 5th one since she was so much in awe. This would lead me to believe it's either Adama or the President. But that's just too obvious; plus Roslin probably wouldn't have cancer if she's a Cylon. And it couldn't have been someone on Galactica, as they would have responded to the radio broadcast. So that makes Starbuck the likely candidate, and would fit it in Xena's reaction. It can't be someone new, as that would be boring -- "OMG, you're the fifth Cylon! No way! That's incredible! Who are you again? And why should I care?"
So all we really know is that it's not Helo, since Hera wouldn't be a hybrid if he's not human. Oh, the possibilities.

Not necessarily as, in the same episode, the 6 in Baltar's head told him it wasn't Deanna's destiny to see the final cylon but his. I'm hoping they'll bring her back in season 4 to wrap that up. Not long to wait now.

I think the fifth one is Starbuck. Remember, her fighter got crushed by pressure within the vortex, and in the end, here she is, alive and knowning more about what is going on than any other in the BSG crew. ------------------------------------------

Why are you playing an internet spaceships game if you hate spaceships? You must be one of those dull "I like watching Data trying to be human every few episodes" Star Trek fans right?

Really most of my <3 for sci-fi is in Heinlein, Keith Laumer, many other authors, Star Wars (original trilogy and the books only) and a few random movies.

If you like Heinlein and the type you'll really love where BSG goes. It's a lot like Starship Troopers in the second half of season 2 and most of season 3. There's a tone of philosophical/ethical debate.

not really cause we're far from ready to be a space faring race. Having technology is one thing (how we got some of it i'll leave out of this), applying it in a childish and stupid manner with lack of foresight wisdom and responsibility is another.
also we have so little understanding of our own sphere that it borders ridiculousness. especially what's in the oceans and underneath the ground and also just plant and animal life natural medicines and our own bodies in general.
to venture out in space at this time is nothing short of a foolish way to redirect the attention to something else and disregard the issues at hand instead of learning what we require instead.
anyways, bsg tells a great story about parts of our past, you'll see in season 4 when they reach earth.
look to egypt and beyond.

It appears we better catch up quick then as evidently there are already bases on the far side of the moon.
Before you laugh though I seriously suggest you spend the hours it takes to weed through the link you just quote/replied with that I gave you.
It appears the real life Cylons are ready to strike.

i know, they were called the watchers in the bible, and we are up there trying to salvage some of the artifacts, but what has this got to do with bsg?
also your argument is flawed since there are species much more advanced and that doesn't mean just because someone else is allready quite space faring that we also have to hurry up. nonono.. big fail.
there's been plenty of other species here, including us which is most likely not originally from here. but have just forgotten. (humanity is much older than you think). and if they wanted us to hurry up and become space faring they would just come and give us technology.
but that's like giving an angry child the launch codes to a nuclear bomb. it's a disaster waiting to happen.
we will take our time like everyone else did so we have wisdom when applying our knowledge power and technology. to do anything else is psychological escapism and childish behaviour on a species broad scale that could have fatal consequences, for others (if we decided in stupidity to enslave or fight some of them) or for us (if someone decides to wipe us out if we become too much of a rogue threat towards other civilizations).
the best thing that could happen was the black projects closing down, all but neutral pure state tech destroyed and nobody would ever know it existed, and we would evolve in a wise and calm fashion.
we'll see what happens though, maybe if we go too far someone will come and give the child a spanking. obviously war against another civilization won't be tolerated and kept in the shadows like the current and past "under the table" tech transfer procedures and uncovering of ancient science and technology. they don't want to be killed any more than we do.

ppl know that very well, ppl are not fools, they've worked it out, most if it anyways, just not all talk about it, yes i'm one of those who talk about it, but that doesn't mean others necesarily have to, and i most certainly don't talk about it 24/7.
furthermore, what's your point with posting this in a bsg thread?
for gods sake man, give ppl some relief, yes we know about it.. doesn't mean you have to talk about it 24/7, i've had my share of posts in here about it from time to time but that's all you ever frigging post about, in basically every thread you can manage.
this is a bsg thread, appreciate the bsg series or gtfo and make your own thread.

look, i know about the psyops in the past, and the resarch on it, clinton admitted they had conducted experiments on innocent unwilling and unaware citizens, and they also admit mkultra exists..
i also know that researching this like you do, can make some ppl paranoid.
yes, they can mind control you if they really wanted to. it's not really a big problem to make someone a drone.
no, bsg is not a psy ops, believe me those "angry kids" got bigger fish to fry, cause they stepped in doodoo and they know it.
the humor in a few pesky semi intelligent humans on a currently backwater planet thinking they can conquer the galaxy and enslave their species and get away with it scott free without any repercussions or consequences, cause they scavenged some pure tech is just too funny, and u know, some ppl only believe what they see and think they are all powerful untill they are shown otherwise, so those few pesky semi intelligent humans might need to be taught a lesson, but if all goes well, hopefully the general populace won't know anything about it except that the world all of a sudden became more peaceful for no apparent reason.
also i don't remember arthur c clark being initiated into any black ops project, but i do hear you crying wolf a whole lot.. yes there's a wolf, and yes you should talk to ppl about it, but just random posting 24/7 about hear say and tidbits of information being all "i told you so" is missing the plot cause it's not about you being right and standing like "i told you so" hoping and praying that onf of the many civilizations out there will come and scare the crap out of ppl in the skies as their view on life comes crashing down, it's about everything being set to how it was supposed to be so that we will meet them in DUE time instead of prematurely (like now) when we're not really even remotely ready for it. and hopefully everything will be set right and done in a way that we will be back to just evolving in peace and figuring things out along the way, making our mistakes, learning from them and moving on without having to worry too much about such things.

This quote from Dr. Steven Greer's book suggests that BSG is indeed part of a PSYOP.
"I learned from a number of people that you can't really do films on the subject of ETs anymore unless there's a heavy militaristic, xenophobic overlay. We went from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" and "E.T." to movies like "Independence Day" and silly things like "Men In Black" or "Mars Attacks". These movies all have an invasion or military conflict theme. These covert interests want the populace brain-washed via this type of propaganda to the falsehood of "alien hostility". Hollywood, and the media in general, are key control points."

look anyone with half a brain knows that there are both civilized and not so civilized species like us out there, why? cause they went through or are going through the stuff we're going through too..
obviously most of the civilized ones are not hostile.
but what you're doing is scaring ppl, a lot more than watching a tv show can ever do. so who's scaring who again?
and you're basing it on hearsay, yes those movies you speak of where influenced by military industrial complex interaction and tech transfer and the likes with an uncivilized species, and was prepping ppl to get accustomed to first contact, but plans change (for good reasons, we're just not ready).
but sci fi is not psyops, yes some are being nudged into certain depictions of things in sci fi but it's not all like they are being mind controlled or whatever, someone "hands them" the ideas, it's not all ominous, much of it is just human inspiration and creativity, but yes, cover stories and plausible deniability backed up by certain movies and series hiding truth in plain sight (dude that's not true you just saw that in that series) or plausible things that ppl then believe but turns out is not true whatsoever is allways handy for the "angry kids" but most of it is really inspiration and creativity, and sci fi is a wonderful thing. there's no sense in be calling all of it psy ops.
but you're missing the point, you are not helping by scaring the **** out of ppl with psyops talk and the likes.
it's something none of us ideally should have to worry about or need to know about, when everything is set right.

nah, they are getting what's coming to them, cause and effect.
nah it's actually worldwide with the NAU - EU - Global gov setup. the ones in the states don't have any power, the real puppeteers names you never hear, if they are in the media or well known, they are just pawns for the "angry kids".
but the point is, they'll be taught a lesson, those who need to know need to know and those who are meant to find out will find out, and everything will be allright.
but scaring the **** out of ppl is giving ppl what they don't need. talk about it yes, but not 24/7. ppl will find out if they want to and are meant to, but in general (except now and again and not 24/7) , ppl need to be left alone and evolve in peace. the way it was supposed to be.
and with that said, enough of this sephra.. this thread is about bsg. and if it has any ties to what you speak it is most likely that of plausible deniability of ancient past, or acclimatization about et's. also there's no aliens in bsg, there's a robot species that humans created themselves.. that are actually trying to become more human to reach god, not angry aliens. which means a) your argument about "making it look like all et's are bad" falls down dramatically, and it also means that there's some good stuff to be found if you read between the lines, if you want to call it psy ops based on hear say go ahead, i call it sci fi inspired by our ancient past with some potential influences directing the storyline, all in all a pretty good sci fi series for public consumption
