but who are we to judge the fella?
in my lifetime i've drank myself silly, taken ****oads of drugs, slept with more people than i can count on my fingers, made friends, lost friends, got into all sorts of scrapes, never caught an STD, not developed a substance abuse problem and somehow kept a clean criminal record. am i morally bankrupt? not to my mind. but i've lived my own life and had a great time doing it.
now i'm 26, have a decent job, don't use class A's, enjoy a pint or ten with my mates, live with my long-term girlfriend and we're expecting our first child in may.
without the first bit, i don't think i'd appreciate the latter bit so much, and have enough experience to know that whilst the first part was fun it's not wjat i want to spend the rest of my life doing.
the chap in question needs to get hmself down the clinic for a course of antibiotics, and remember this lucky escape next time he's getting laid. i don't see how telling him he's an idiot helps.
Thank you for that post. I was getting a bit worried about the lack of common sense. _______________________________________________ RuntimeError: ChainEvent is blocking by design, but you're block trapped. You have'll have to find some alternative means to do Your Thing, dude. |

Do you think you deserve much respect from either of those girls?
If you want an entirely pragmatic reason for telling them how's this: if you don't you stand a good chance of catching it back off them in the future. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

Just text them ASAP that you may have contracted chlamidia from a girl you slept with earlier, and tell them you'll keep them posted on the result. (If the test comes back negative, no biggy, if it comes back positive, they'll know) Sure they'll be angry, but they will be glad you told them, because chlamidia is pretty damn serious for women. Its unpleasant for men, but for woment its quite a bit more dangerous.

I seriously have trouble believing this is a real post. It's like in the intro to Idiocracy, but for real. COME ON ! On second thought, no, I don't have a problem believing it. People are generally stupid, and young hormone-poisoned people even more so. But still, DAMN ! Seriously. What the hell were you thinking ? WERE you thinking ?
I mean, how the hell does a 20-year old get (in this day and age) the gall to have UNPROTECTED sex with loads of female parteners he just met AND not even bother "pulling out" ? Do you actually WANT to get an STD and have to pay child support already ?
At least I hope you have a "good" excuse... like, for instance, you were drunk or high in all those cases. On second thought, cancel that. I really stopped caring about now.
Have fun with your life.

1) pulling out is probably the worst form of birth control imaginable, basically 0% effective, usually some sperm is released well before you go off. 2) If the girl in question is using a contraceptive or a IUD (google that) or an implanted contraceptive the chances of pregnancy are very low, especially with the latter 2. There is however 0 protection to STDs. (as our OP is currently quite aware of.)
Modern contraceptives are astoundingly potent especially if they've been used for a while. (here in the netherlands contraceptives are covered 100% by health-insurance, and any doctor will assist a person requisting them as best they can. Sometimes girls will start using them as early as their 15th/16th year, ovulation stops in a matter of months, effectively nullifying the chance for pregnancy until they have stopped using them for several months to allow the hormonal balance to return to normal)

TECHNICALLY, you should only have sex with a single steady partner you are fairly certain they carry no STDs, and you should use both condoms for him and either mechanical or hormonal anticonceptionals for her... if you want to minimize both the chance of STDs and conception. But let's be serious, nobody ever does all that... it's usually just one of the above. Sure, not 100% certain, but "certain enough".
Well, the chance for pregnancy is usually only around 25% for unprotected intercourse with a person using no birth control... so while it's not 100% effective, it does certainly lower those odds quite a bit (I'd say 1%-5% chance of pregnancy is significantly lower than 25%-50% or so, wouldn't you agree?) So yeah, you shouldn't bank on "pulling out" as an EFFECTIVE contraception method (for that matter, condoms aren't 100% certain contraceptives either, there's usually a 1%-3% slippage/breakage chance or so), but for better or worse, it's still better than just shooting your load.
In his specific case (and that of his "casual female partners" and their other partners and so forth), simply always using a damn condom would have saved the lot plenty of aggravation.

I beg to differ here...
First, with the most common contraceptives on the market (those with 21 active + 7 optional "supplement" pills), if taken correctly (start max 5 days after first menstruation day, take them every day at roughly the same time, careful not to puke'em out, no diarrhea, no antibiotics or other medicine that can reduce absorbtion or effectiveness), they work from the moment you start taking them. Problem is, if the patient has problems absorbing the pill completely daily, contraception effectiveness is pretty much compromised.
BUT even if taken properly, it's not 100% proof either. Allegedly, there are "failure rates" as high as 0.3% for people who were supposedly following instructions precisely, but used no other contraception methods yet had regular intercourse.

True Akita, which is where those implanted contraceptives come in. These work for approximately 6 months at a time, slowly but steadily releasing the hormones required to keep everything on the back burner down there. These again aren't 100% idiot proof, but have very low failure rates nonetheless. And unlike the more conventional pill you can't forget to take these. You just need to make sure you get the next one on time.

Of course, from the "tell the girls" point of view, you better hope that it was yuou who caught it off of her, and not the other way round. Assuming this texting girl gave it to you, you only have 2 other girls to break the news to. If you caught it off of someone else a while back and were the one who gave it to you, there could be 10's of girls who you've given it to.
And as already pointed out, its far worse for women than it is for men. ------

If you don't tell them you deserve neither respect or future sex. You would, however, deserve future STD's.
