I can go out for beers with the guys, I can go read a book I can even watch Star Trek with her in the room, but as soon as the EVE login screen is up, she gets **ed and storms out of the room. It's the craziest ** I have ever seen, she is fanatically hateful of the game. To top it off, I haven't bought a new PC game in over 2 years because of EVE. Recently she has conceded to let me play on thursday nights with my buds for 2 hours, but she tries to talk to me the whole time and bugs me about chores and walking the mutt the whole time. The only way for me to ensure I have a good go at EVE is to go to a friends house to play EVE.

So long as she does not see an EVE screen everything is OK; i've taken to lying saying that i'm playing Counterstrike when I'm on EVE, strangely she does not mind that.......must be a female jealously thing, EVE is a girls name and you know how jealous some chicks get.....

Hilarious QFT I should try that, cept if I get my wife perma banned, eve doesn't give me sexeh aggros which is the type of aggros I don't mind.

Try a little reassurance. CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that.

She's becoming used to my parallell life. When I suddenly jump up from bed, having forgotten to change skill, she merely sighs. Actually, sometimes she makes cute lazor sounds when she wants my (affectionate) attention. I love her for that!

Mostly when she wants my attention when I'm in the middle of PvP, or something similar, and I give her an irritated "Not now". Which is almost always followed up by a "Sorry sweety, you know sometimes I can't just put the game down. There are real people in it with me.". She does get a kick out of it when she can poke fun at me with her girlfriends tho. About how I sound on TS when I'm on an OP, saying stuff like "Roger", "Check" and so on I'm praying each day for Ambulation to come. When she can dress up a character and walk around, I'm sure I can get her to try EVE. I did get her to play CoH with me that way. Of course the game bored the crap out of me, and she doesn't want me to keep an account open just for her. So get ***ing Devs. Marriages and girlfriends are on the line here!

Its 1 high slot.. 2 midslots and 2 low slots. They have a verbal RoF that reaches ludicrous levels not to mention their alpha strike capabilities are unmatched except by the "Women Scorned" class Their tanking abilities are unparalleled in their ability to have reason and logic bombs simply glance off them without any dent in their Feminism shields with the monthly PMS booster. Basically before we were going out, at work he would patiently try to explain the game to me, talking about the universe and the different big alliances (he would often start drawing figures to help me understand- whether that be on serviettes or paper towel ). It wasn't long after we started going out that i started playing eve, i had to buy myself a new video card and everything for it (My first experience of buying computer bits ) To be honest i halfed started playing eve so that i could talk to him a bit more. He would always call me while trying to play eve, or not sign into msn because he was on eve. It wasn't long till i was as addicted to the game myself. And now it has got me addicted to computers in general, now just spending at least $1500 upgrading different bits of my computer. So eve does work for women too! But i understand why girls could get upset at the name. One of the guys at work once said (his a real pr** by the way - why would you say this to someones gf?? ), that my bf talked about eve so much, that he got confused and thought my name was eve... yah if i wasnt an eve player i prob would've been a bit more annoyed. But its funny to see people sigh when they know my bf plays eve, and than they ask me what i think of him playing... and my reply is! -I PLAY TOO! Its good for him though, cos when he says he wants to spend $$ on his computer, or buy some eve gear from the eveshop, or wants a better internet connection, he is allowed too.

Not only that but she has on occassion reminded me that a skill needs changing, or that the hold on my mining indy must be full by now (if we're watching a movie together), she nevers bugs me for stupid things while im playing (unless I've been welded to the PC for 5 hours straight) and even pays for my EVE subscription on her credit card. As far as she is concerned she would rather I was atleast at home and playing EVE, than off down the pub every night. Atleast this way we can talk, cuddle up etc if we want to. It did make me laugh when she called me a geek for playing an MMO then, the first time one of my "geek" friends came over to visit she had a 2 hour argument with him over her character's stats on Oblivion and whether or not light or heavy armour was the best way to go ...
