I don't have any doubts over the honesty of Athre or Shar. But the big question (to me) is still being totally ignored:
Does this settlement include or not income from the chunk of stock which was given to Benvie? If so, we sneed to keep a record of shareholders so that, if Benvie ever shows up and isn't trying to scam, the rest of profits can be shared out properly. If, of course, this payment includes the sale of ALL remaining assets then there's no need to bother.

Firstly, a record of each stock transfer is going to be maintained, in two distinct places as a matter of fact. Those who have access to my running version of Sexy can attest to the level of accuracy in my remarking for any corporate transactions. (This includes an eBank teller actions) Accurate remarks is an absolute requirement - internally. Secondly, there is still some inventory remaining that I did not contract over to Benvie last I was in game. Those items were up on the market in various locales and regions making it difficult to take them down, gather them together, and hand over to Benvie. Those items were, mostly, overpriced and on 90 d orders. The current RDIR wallet division is populated with funds from those lingering sales. And yes, this is intended as a final closing. There's been no special deals or accommodations arranged of any kind. Benvie's "cut" has not even been brought into play in this matter. There has been no contact with Benvie after the evemail I received telling me which character to contract inventory over to at that time. (My toon babysitter has specific instructions to not only check training and status but who has sent evemails. Call me paranoid but I've had friends who've come back from some sort of vacation to find that their accounts have been hacked and toons deleted after being emptied of assets.) Athre's tried doing a good job of updating people while I've been away but she, and I, were both very adamant. We can't account for everything anymore but we don't like this affair lingering on. This is essentially a fair offer buy out to bring this to a close and perhaps salvage some of my dignity in the process. Nothing more, nothing less. |

Shar, I take my hat off to you I really do.
Despite extremely difficult real-life circumstances you
have done your very best to maintain your integrity
regarding in-game committments, and in my opinion you have
done yourself proud. Your character shines out far
brighter than most in Eve.
I'm not playing Eve at the moment, but I will try to log
in as soon as possible to return the shares.

Shar, thank you for clarifying the situation in what must be difficult circumstances. I appreciate the effort it has taken for you to attend to something that is, quite rightly, way down the list of your priorities at this time.
I too wish you all the very best with your treatment and recovery and hope to hear your voice in this forum again before too long. It has not been the same without you.

Why not just pay out the money as dividends and let the shares be wherever they are now?

I'm a bit confused on the whole "who has what access, dividends vs ISK vs goods" thingy.

As far as I can work out, what's happening is that the stock given to Benvie to sell off is being written off - so the 35% dividend just represents the value of the remaining stock Shar had. Hence my repeated request that shares returned be kept track of - so that if Benvie ever shows hisface again he has the option of paying out whatever portion of the ISK he's raised should be distributed.

Indeed - all buy backs are listing the quantity of stock and the journal records the name. I'm keeping a separate log (desk notepad) with the list that I will put into an excel sheet on my corp's web site so that if CCP ever wipes the journals (my stuff from 2003 and 2004 are naturally missing) we will have record in perpetuity.

I have been having a heck of a time logging into these forums lately, it never lets me remain logged in.
As a note, Benvie's IPO just paid divs for the month... so clearly he isn't totally gone. Anyone seen him in game?
I just find it very odd to send shares at any random time considering the lack of share tracking available in game. Though I suppose with a list of all shareholders it is not tough.
Just to be sure, at any point, whether Athre is in game or not, we just send our shares and when Athre logs in we get our money?
What about the ISK available to buy back the shares being lower than the total amount needed due to remaining stock? FastLearner and myself were the two largest shareholders, I saw he cashed in, is there still the liquid ISK for me to cash mine in now? And assuming Benvie does make a re-appearance, how will that be handled? Will all shares be re-issued to make dividending easier or is there not really a plan for that yet?

I'm keeping tally on the stocks I'm buying back on Shar's behalf, all stocks sent to me and processed are then sent to a single alt of Shar's so if dividends came in on that it can go back in the pool.
There are items that are still continuing to sell. I do cash folks out when I am next in game and some by personal convo, which ever you prefer.

I'm sorry I might not be understanding you correctly... I've double checked my corps wallet and no dividends were sent on RDIR to Shar's shares held in the corp wallet. Is this a different financial en devour?

Nah Benvie corp is his own enterprise. I think Shadarle's point was that Benvie hasn't dropped off the face of the earth. He is still around however seems to be just doing his thing in game. Kinda like he has wiped his hands with RDIR.

Athre has done an excellent job of accounting for all shares properly. And the accounting so far matches what list I have. However, the caveat, I do not have a shareholders list that is current. The alt that I used to issue dividends via in game mechanics no longer has access to any corporate functions. In fact, I did not have this access 5 minutes after the dispersal was completed. From what I can see, using sexy to monitor affairs, there should still be liquid funds available for your needs. It's a bit tight at the moment, a sudden bill or isk need is going to be a pain, but my own in game activities are minimal right now. The corp is competent enough to finance any matters, even if the wallet is devastated, on their own. In other words, there's no worries on all accounts.
I have no idea nor comment on any activity that Benvie is engaged in or not engaged in. I've had no contact from him and I've not seen him so I presume that he's not been in game or around. If this is not the case, that he's ignoring me/washed his hands, I can only respect that choice. However I'm not going to respond to any questions about the matter. IMHO I've done enough potential damage to the man, undeservedly so, and I will simply choose to keep my big yap shut.
