Eve has been running fine ever since i downloaded it. Lately (past two days) i can not hear the audio from any rail guns, missiles and when they hit. ( myself or the target) Also I can not hear the audio for targeting lock. Just curious if anyone else has had a similar problem. And if so what steps to correct it.

I have the same problem.
Trying to remedy it, but i know Alt-Tabbing used to make warp sounds stutter a bit but not weapon audio.
I'm also using Winamp and Teamspeak in the background, although that should have no bearing on it. Hopefully i can figure this out soon.
Anyone else have any fixes?
I'm using a Sound Blaster Audigy sound card.

Same problem, no sound when I fire my rails. Also they seem to randomly decide if they will or wont work from one mission to another, when all I've done is to reload them

Do you run a SB Audigy, like Sound Shock? If so, try uninstalling then reinstalling it. I had this self same problem, and found it was caused by my Audigy not being installed properly (even though both Windows and the Creative Update site thought it was), and this sorted it. Be warned, however, that the Audigys are notorious for being troublesome when reinstalling (I know mine was).

No idea for the cause, but have work around. After splash screen, and you come to the login page, turn up volume markedly until you can hear the background soundfx. If they come out clear, then continue to log into game. If they sound distorted, close game and reload.
Weirdest thing, but it has worked consistently for me. If I log on when there is sound problems at the login page, problems carry forward to game session.
