Since when does EvE Support multiple monitors? I'd like to know (other than the put it in window mode and span it across) how to get that up and running. |

That sucks. I'd like some true multi-monitor support. -----

Originally by: Red Harvest The Alienware Curved Monitor should be pretty sweet too.
but tbh i would rather have my ship on one screen and all those chat windows and the overview on a second than one of those.
Sweet monitor, but the syatem he was playing Crysis on there was horrible... tearing and massive slowdown.
If they're going to showcase a screen like that, you'd think they'd at least use something that can remotely handle Crysis.

Or use a game that can actually be run at the monitor's native resolution. It seems kinda stupid they'd go through all the hassle to show it off, only to result in issues like framerate (which isn't the monitor's fault), and uneven lighting. -----

Edited by: Mutabae on 23/04/2008 05:49:39 Edited by: Mutabae on 23/04/2008 05:48:29 Eve is 5-6 years old... so, 1024 res was the 'hardcore' standard back then. Maybe1280...
Anyways, I used to play in 1024 rez... horribly cramped (and I don't know how I tolerated it tbh)
then 1680... still cramped, tbh
now, 1920... finally, its fairly 'open', though I can fill the screen quickly if I add optional windows....
Still, I would much rather give my 24" primary windows and task my 22" with overview, drones, fleet or the like...
It's 2008 CCP... can we have multiple monitor support, please? It's not revolutionary it's evolutionary.

In fullscreen mode it is not spanned,it supports triple monitor properly. the FOV(field of view) is increased, around 40% ,and the rest is stretched. but,and this is the crucial bit,the windows in EVE are all the correct size(they are not enlarged even though EVE is in 3840 by 1024 res)

If we could just add a second monitor in EVE which my even contain a gray background where we could drag chat channels and our overview etc. That would be an huge improvement to dual monitor support imho. _

Welp, the machine has been ordered. I should have it by next weekend.
Intel dual core 2.4Ghz proc 4Gb DDR2 ram 8600GT 160g 7200rpm HD Win XP pro Saitek Cyborg KB (for all the pretty lights and extra buttons) 2000dpi laser mouse 3ea Samsung 19" LCD monitors Matrox Triplehead2go
All in all about $2K which is a little more than i wanted to spend but, eh, it's Eve!
Oh and if the wife reads this it's primarily useful for the increased functionality of being able to view several documents and spreadsheets at the same time, harumpf. . . . Regards, August |

Man, I was so excited by the prospect of stitching together 3x 1920x1200, but then the review tells me that it can't do that because of the limits of DirectX9. ---- Space for rent! |
