Insta-locking is a myth. Complete and utter rubbish. If your Blockade Runner is setup properly, you should have no problems getting into warp before a HIC can lock you, especially considering he has to deal with server lag when trying to lock you.

Don't infini points prevent gate jumping?
I have no idea why but I was under the impression you could not jump while an infini point was on you.
EDIT: Ah, here it is. Knew I wasn't crazy. If this is so then "running for the gate" will get you nowhere as you are well and truly caught.
From: New Tech 2 Ships for Trinity Dev Blog (highlighting mine):
"Heavy Interdictors Heavy interdictors are cruiser equivalents of the destroyer based interdictors, which combine area of effect warp disruption with the tanking capabilities of Heavy Assault Ships. Rather than using warp disrupt probes, the heavy interdictors use a module, the Warp Disruption Field Generator, which prevents all ships within its range from warping or jumping (including the heavy interdictor itself)."
Jumping as in capital cyno jump, not using the gate.
Nothing prevents you from mwding back to the gate and jumping.

Um, jumping as in cap ships, not jumping as in gates.
CONCORD provide consequences, not safety; only you can do that. |

Ya know i got ko's by a hic the other day.. I think the ship concept is fine but here is some fine tuning that may make it a bit more "balanced"
(1) Ship cannot be sensor boosted no matter what. Once its prey is caught its caught but it is a cruiser so locking frigs and other smaller things should be the normal painl Locking the BR should be according to the skill of the pilot
(2) INfinite stupidty is what i call it so lets do this.. Instead of having an infinent point have it be +3 str when locking on anything less then a super cap. Now +3 is still pretty dam powerful but can be avoided by extra wc to counteract it. At least this gives the person a decent chance if they used thier brains to scout to get away but still gives the hic plenty of SNAP ablity if they dont.
I think these two things would just balance it out just right and make it the right kind of hard with the same concept in mind.
ALso for the love of everything use ur brains BR haulers.. MWD CLOAK and holy crap stuff some multispec jammers on. I stuffed an abbadon up couple days ago when he locked me and I had no wc on. HE locked alpahed I hurt then jammed his butt and ran away... Same can be done with a HIC it aint special..

Do this and people will just go back to RSB Lachesis, I certainly will. You can't escape from 10 points no matter what. Stop whining, improvise, adapt and overcome. ------------
