Can we have some documentation on what the new research status fields mean?

tells you the number of patents outstanding (BPOs left to claim), total number of research points in the relevant field, your RPs, number of characters in the field.
Is that what you meant?

Not completely, I'm talking about this kind of line:
ca. 3 patents, 552 researchers, 1170258 RP + 18552 RP/day
What exactly does this mean? (no numbers match with total number of researchers nor points).

ca. 3 patents, 552 researchers, 1170258 RP + 18552 RP/day
3 BPOs available 552 agents capable of researching into that current total RPs for that daily increase of RPs for that (base rate)
Number of researchers then tells you how many characters are actually researching. Growth rate per day how many RPs are actually being added daily.
at least i think thats right.

Morkt, I dont think it means how many agents are capable of doing that research but actually how many ppl have a chance of getting that BPO, take the caldari interceptor BPs for example: there are 697 guys researching Cadari Starship and 240 researching Mechanical Engineering(that gives a small chance of getting any interceptor BPO), thats the info displayed on the raptor patent info, 697+240=937 researchers.

Wow, average 33.6 rp/day/researcher? What feild is that? That's around 50% of what a moderatly dedicated researcher should get (Level 3 R&D agent, topic trained to 4). Man I can't wait to get home and check out the stats.

And why do you think the Patents number is BPO's outstanding? Could it not be BPO's already given?

Yup i think you're right.
Its the total of those researching the primary and secondary field.

How do you know it's outstanding?

same reason as said above - ps said so on irc.
But the display of the number for ships (BPOs) is wrong atm due to a bug.

where do u find out how many patents remain in any given field? I also am researching caldari starship, get 128 rp's a day

I think the sad part about all this is; in the beginning there might have been what 100 research players out there doing all the agents. Called the early bird.
Finding a good quality and level agent you would get more than the rest per day. Soo what I believed happened with the lottery research was those that got going the fastest could catch the wave before the numbers increased and the reinlisted at the end with the same agent and got the second bp before everyone caught up.
I think the lottery research is working as planned. Now you have alot of players out there trying to make there thousands of rp in the pool of millions pay off.. Off to be a combat pilot.

I still don't get it. For example, for "Hydromagnetic Physics Research Summary", I get:
Total Research Points: 476377 RP Number of researchers: 247 Growth Rate: 8057 RP/day Predictable Patent - Small Shield Booster II Blueprint: ca. 3 patents, 552 researchers, 1170258 RP + 18552 RP/day
How can we have 18552 which is greater than 8057? Also what does 3 patents mean? That there will be only 3 patents ever? or per some time unit?

Predictable Patent - Small Shield Booster II Blueprint: ca. 3 patents, 552 researchers, 1170258 RP + 18552 RP/day
The first details are for that field/category of research. The second set of details are all people involved in that lottery. This is different because most/all BP's are available from at leats 2 fields of research.
This 'other' field of research accounts for the difference between the figures.
On another point, no sooner have I calculated I had a whole 2% of the Amarian starship research points I get offered a BP. Now all I have to decide is whether it's worth it. Anyone know if bombers are due soon ----------------------------------------------- IÆm not schizophrenic... ThatÆs my alt

That clarifies alot, thanks.
Still there is the "3 patents" figure. Is that per some time unit?
