I was under the impression that alot of the revamp of missions that have occured over the last year or so was made so it would be easier to add new missions. Other than tweaks of existing missions it seems that there are very few new combat missions being added to the game.
It would also be nice if they would put a remote chance in more missions that a item would be dropped thats actually worth looting, like we occasionally get from Gurista Ex. I read in patch info that although the Angel Ex has been put back in, but they removed the overseer structure so there is no longer a chance of nice item dropping from that mission anymore. Once upon a time the Blockade mission would have a named spawn as the last spawn which could drop faction stuff but that was lost when that mission was changed to the new system.
I know mission runners are looked down on by the elite PvP crowd, but I enjoy doing missions and just wish we would get a little attention now and then too. |

It would be nice to see some new missions. Some of them are still fun, but the more of them you do the more of a grind it is. After a year of financing my fun in Eve through missions (with some trade and R&D on the side), I am considering trying mining or exploration as a new money-making method.
As for the "elite PvP crowd" - they finance their fun through missions, trade, manufacturing, R&D, mining and ratting, just like the rest of us. None of these money-making methods is morally superior to the others, in my opinion. ------------

I'd rather have more random factors in missions, TBH. People farming L4 highsec kill missions in CNRs might despise anything which actually makes them think for more than one moment, but I think it'd introduce an interesting element if you could never be quite certain what you were going to face on a mission - just a general idea and then having to blag it to some extent.

Would me nice if they were modular and the server put them together randomly each time a mission was assigned using only general guidlines to adjust the encounter. You get "rogue drone harrasment" and the server runs a quick set of random numbers to decide that you have between 2-5 rooms and variable types of encounters. All the mobs have a score based on difficulty and adjusts the reward being offered AND possible presence of unique encounters with high end drops in the mission off this. No more "ok, I got Arisite Envy... quick check of eve-survival.org and set my ship up perfectly and do this mission easy as pie." Now you will have a general idea of the faction being encountered but no cookie cutter sutups or spoilers to ho hum the mission up. Wont happen though. Macro mission runners and those who dont want risk would scream like stuck pigs. But is sure would be nice.

As someone who likes both pvp AND missions (depending on my mood)
I haveto sign on the random factors suggested. yes people who dont like risk and run macros would cry to no end but... THEY SHOULDNT BE PLAYING EVE ANYWAY

Most missions already have random variations in spawns, what more do you want? Extra ship squads spawning at random while you're already killing? If it was stuff like that, people would just fit more tank as a baseline and we'd be right back where we are. More scramblers would make mission runners even easier targets for gankers (as if that weren't free kills already, hahahaha). |

This is the answer, so we can still use eve-survival as a "rough" guide but the unpredictable would still be there, not exactly difficult to do either.
And "wet ferret" i do look at eve-survival as im new to lvl4's and do most solo so need to know if its possible first, i have never seen any randomness between mission rats/towrs/structures its all the same unless its a different faction what they say will appear appears, the only randomness is whether the overseers will appear in the few missions that they do (worlds collide, blockade, etc) |

ccp still tend to 'tweak' missions...ie generally getting rid of 'blitz' methods...more than really revamping the content any, i'd like to see more missions or at least some content changes implemented more often rathe than just a nerf on 'blitz' methods.

All information on EVE Survival is player submitted, so any specific spawns that are listed are likely just what the player saw in their mission. Some missions do have the same spawns every time (like Gone Berserk) but more of them are random than not. |

I am new to Eve as of about a week ago, though I tried it once before a year or so prior. I came here looking for change from WoW, a game that is at its apex, after cancelling my subscription. There is nowhere for WoW to go but down unless Blizzard presents a drastically new aspect to the game.
That being said, I am a PvE'er, a solo player (for the most part), and an occasional PvP'er, and I'm bored. Like the originator of this thread, Arain, I returned to Eve thinking there may be some great changes. And there have been some. But one aspect of the game that is incredibly weak; weaker than most other MMO out there, is the PvE content. I can grind with the best of them, but the question that always sticks out in my mind is, "Why should I have to?" I log on to change skill training around a bit, but I have to push myself hard to run more missions. How many times can I jump to pick up cigarettes for an agent before I start to wonder about how much time I'm wasting? Didn't I just do this for this very same agent? And the bugger doesn't even remember my name! And I'm 'exemplary' with him! Exemplary must have a different definiton in Eve. I guess my point is, there are a number of inconsistencies in the capsuleer/agent relationship(s) and there are far too few missions in general, the majority of which are not related to any grander storyline. What happens if I don't take out those rogue drones?
I have not experienced the high-end game content, but having played numerous MMO over many years, I don't think it's impossible to anticipate what will come. That is more of the same, but with slightly more difficult challenges at each step of the way. PvP will begin to take the forefront as I follow the path to 0.0 space, skills will take longer to train (as they should, but the result is that the reward of seeing a skill improve becomes increasingly infrequent), and belonging to a corporation will become a practical necessity in order to survive and take advantage of corporation-only aspects of the game.
To end on a more positive note, Eve has incredible potential to be the next generation MMO. I envision ambulation and all that could possibly entail, from boarding enemy stations to exploring the surface of a planet, first-person shooter style. I can see corporations building structures not only in space as they do now, but on the surface of a planet or moon. Hell, I can see players changing the political structure of the universe at some point. And you have to ask, if this isn't intended to be possible at some point, then why play at all?
But add some more missions first. Help me alleviate the feeling that all I'm doing is grinding again.

Wont happen becaus emission running is much like mining, just with missiles. Did they add any new asteroids recently?

Really, the devs seem to see PVE content as a necessary evil for people to fund their PVP habits. Which is fair enough, but it would be nice if they'd at least put *some* content in which doesn't consist of doing the exact same handful of missions over and over again, until you know them by heart and can pretty mucg run them in your sleep...
Even where there is opportunity for a more involved PVE aspect (like, with exploration) it's mostly just for novelty and doesn't really add a huge amount.

Running missions is just like mining. They're not there to provide us with a never ending huge storyline, more like, eh, mining, with ISK, which we can then spend on ships to shoot each other with.

easy lets say ohh angel extravaganza
Variable one: total isk potential rolled between lets say 75% of what it is now and double what it is now. (make it a fairly large variation)
ok depending on the number it gives we derive the following variables Rooms: 2-5 (not counting the bonus room) Groups per room: 3-5 Frigs per group: 5-10 cruisers per group: 3-7 BS per group: 1-2 then tag the bonus room onto the end always

One thing that does gripe me now ive done around 100 lvl4 missions is the constant same few, it never seems to randomise, you look at the list of missions on eve-s and then see how many you have received, i personally would say 10%. However recently changing who i work for changed those 10% slightly so really all they got to do is let all them be available through each corp.
New missions aint close either remember asking the Q about the chance of new missions through irc to the devs during the alliance tournament, repsonse i got was "pah, what, missions suk."

EDIT2: so the forum did it again!!! Fix the forums!!
Quick version:
More missions would be nice, variation is okay if it still semi predictable. More tank = less isk = less pvp. I mission for funding pvp the whiney pvpers don't like missions but I think forget how alot of the non 0.0 pvpers make money.
