Thank you for mistyping 772,415 ISK into your region wide buy order. You know who you are.
Sleep well knowing your isk has found a more faithful lover.

Move along, move along. Nothing interesting to see here.
I just saved a bunch of money on my ship insurance by switching to CCP.

Taking advantage of a mistake like that is good business sense; but making a rude post rubbing his nose in his loss makes you seem like a jerk.

Hmm. Anyone taking odds that this is the current isk purchase transfer method?

Cry me a river. The post may be worthless and unneeded... but if anyone gets upset over it then they have too think a skin for business.

I can't claim responsibility for your little ISK influx, but I really think this is one of the reasons why they need to add a warning to order modifications. Right now you can modify a trit order up to 100000 ISK per unit and the game won't say anything. I made money off this when I get 5 CCCs for around 1.5mil each, but that was awhile ago.

Maybe you can get CCP to code the game to play for you as well? That way you won't ever have a chance to make a mistake. |

It would have been slightly more interesting if we'd known just how large the region order was, in terms of units ...

I love how whenever anyone admits to losing a lot of money they always counter it with some brilliant move that made them all the money back! Amazing how the timing always works out that way!

They already added modify warn dialogs, like 2-3 patches ago.
EDIT: I checked patch notes and it seems they added it only for modification of SELL orders, not BUY orders. Heh, interesting.

Its like when anyone says they went to a casino they always come out up, makes you wonder how the casino stays in business...

I had to laugh, after quickly checking it wasn't me. As a guess I think it could have been the same trader I gladly sold 400 medium energy neuts a week ago for 770k each. Nice profit even if it did take an hour off to fill that order from 3 other regions.
I dont think he will do it again. I guess I'll be watching too.

It's not just face saving. If you blow 8 billion isk on a fat finger, then among other things it implies that you had 8 billion isk to blow. Maybe you dumped $800 or so selling GTCs, but you probably got it by doing something.

I once caught a fish that was this big......
but I put him back and have nothing to show for it but it was a record breaker and there was a prize for the biggest fish but I didn't care about the money only the fact that I caught the biggest fish and no one else ever caught one that big.

How about a warning message we could turn on and off (just like the broker fee warning) when changing orders and the value is way above the regional average. And I mean 1000% or something. I am surprised this hasn't been addressed before. Maybe it has but CCP doesn't give a damn. Suddenly I've developed a passion for Battlefield 2 Project Reality... (same level of boredom but no capital to waste on the lack of features).

I lost about 85M to a typo last weekend. I was changing a sell order on some crap I was trying to liquidate and my current price ended in .60, and I forgot that when the last cent digit is a zero its omitted when you get to where you place the cursor and get to type in a new price, so I hit backspace twice, entered what I thought was going to be my new cents value, and hit enter. Oops, 85M broker fee.
5 minutes later I dropped it back down, called it a rounding error and moved on with my night.
One of these days I'll get it through my head to hit tab before hitting enter, no matter how mundane an order I'm changing. |

edit: just saw the subject, guess i can't take credit for this one.
What Ricdic's means is...
"When I saw CCP had removed NPC shuttles I knew that with my experiance of pushing blueprints around eve in tanked shuttles I could use my elite marketing skills to quickly buy and liquidate 12000+ shuttles @ 1mill each in a few minutes. When I realized my plan was failing I decided to save face by blaming it on a typo."
sorry Ricdic. I couldn't resist. I hope you didn't spend 10 billion on shuttles. You cant use them as ammo for your Golem. I tried. |

You do know what a shuttle is, right? They can't be tanked, at all, in any way, not even a little.
