[91] hi guys - I have two accounts and want to run the second acct on an additional monitor. My system spec runs two accounts with no problems both in windowed mode on a single monitor but would have thought I would have been able to drag the additional account over to the second monitor without any worries, I tried this but ended up in lag city. I believe the problem is I am using an ATI card which does not support hardware acceleration on a second monitor and someone also posted this is true unless I have both accounts in full screen mode so... (takes a breath!)... how can I assign each account to the appropriate monitor, can this be done? I tried but it just keeps minimising, I am going back in for another go - hey CCP an official word or workaround would be nice |

[93] The problem with multi-monitors is: The standard ATI drivers only have 3d hardware support for the first monitor. There is no 3d hardware support on the second monitor so it is really slow but still works. There are the FireGL drivers that enable full 3d hardware support for both monitors but I was not able to get them working on my computer. You have to patch them so that they install with standard ATI cards. (usually they need the ATI FireGL card which is basically not very different from the standards, just a bit faster and a different version code which is checked by the software) |

[95] I have an 9800xt and my pop who I am trying to set this up for has an 9800pro, I heard that nvidia cards have hd accel for both monitors is this correct? Is there any workaround with the system I have, my pop was also going to buy the x800 XT card when it comes out in a couple of weeks would this support the dual monitor set up - I only wanna run 2 accts one on each monitor either windowed or full screen I have tried to do it at the minute in full screen but the secondary monitor in game curser doesnt click on anything and when I click anything in the primary monitor it minimises the game - DOH! is there a workaround with the current set up or is the 6800ultra the way to go? (i love my ati card |

[97] I have the ATI 9800 PRO, too, and am looking at another card to run the second monitor. Will that let me run EVE full screen on the primary monitor, and use the Excel, browser, etc on the secondary? If not, what can I do to do this? Running EVE windowed makes it run extremely slow ________________________________ Therian Dreamscape Chief Financial Officer Director of Manufacturing and Sales |

[99] I am running a gf 4800se card with nvieu and have it set up for two desktops (not the one big spanned desktop) The things I am most interested in are being able to have all the clutter off on the second screen and say using caps lock to toggle between the screens so I donĘt click off on one screen by mistake in a fight or something, or to be able to hold eve in full screen on one monitor while having an active window on the other like in media player 9. Please give us the second one at least as I am going bonkers with this windowed mode. |

[104] I want to run multi monitors I have a pair of 17" babies I salavaged by skip diving (heh, everyone needs a hobby). What I want is to run eve on one monitor, and windows on the other. I have a ATI radeon 9600 pro, a NForce 2 motherboard with intergrated graphics, and windoze Xpletive. How in hells teeth do I get this to work? Assume I'm an idiot, because I've probably missed the bloody obvious... ++++++++++++++++++++ CEO of the Space Munchkins. Fear my kneepads of allure! [107] Its quite simple to get two accounts running with a second monitor. I do this with a ATI 9500 Pro, but its no problem with most other cards too. Its not true that ATI doesn't support hardware acceleration on the second one. You just have to hit ESC ingame, on the account you want to be on the second monitor. Under Graphics -> Display Adapter choose the second adapter of your card (its named "RADEON 9500 Pro - Secondary" for my card). Thats it, you should have two accounts running with full hardware acceleration. You can use different resolutions for both accounts as well. But you have to play both accounts at windowed mode, because its native windows behavior that the window on fullscreen minimizes if it looses focus. Hope this helps, have fun. |

[111] Edited by: Quifoo on 17/02/2007 05:33:29 I've got a GeForce 7900GT and a GeForce 7950GT running on my machine right now across 3 20.1' Samsung LCDs. I had EvE running across all 3 (all 3 monitors on seperate DVI cables), but at 3200x900 in windowed mode. The only reason I had that resolution was because it had saved over from when I only had 2 monitors and horizontal span on. The game drew on all 3 monitors. The frame rate was a bit slow considering the graphics cards, but it drew and was a decent frame rate, though I didn't get a measurement the screen moved when I dragged my mouse in sync and was in sync across all 3 monitors. I'm still hunting around but I tried fiddling with pref.ini to say get desktopHeight=1200, desktopWidth=4800 (each screen is running at 1600x1200) but to no avail. Still playing around with it right now, but this confirms to a small degree that EvE at least CAN draw across multiple monitors. Sadly the only ways I know of solidly doing this right now is Matrox's TripleHead2Go or DualHead2Go and/or nVidia's Horizontal span (I used span and my friend is using triplehead). The problem with triple head is a resolution limit, it allows a maximum of 3 x 1280x1024, which is why I'm not using it at the moment, and Horizontal span won't encompass across multiple video cards. System: Windows Enterprise Server 2003 2 Gigs DDR2 800 Intel Core 2 Duo (2.4GHz x 2) GeForce 7950 & GeForce 7900 3 x SyncMaster 204B Edit: Apologies for posting on my unused alt, forgot to change the profile. [112] I have used splitscreen whit Nvidia manytimes in EVE, tho mostly as a showcase and "neat" sense of depth effect... framerate is good and all, only the basic "UI meters broken in 2 parts" problem that cant be fixed without a 3rd monitor. so definately do-able. |
