Let this be a warning about having too many hands in the pot.
A few weeks ago, it was decided by those active playing EVE to push the "pillars" of the emperor to give up control of the Forsaken Empire, largely because these same pillars were playing lineage, and were hardly ever available.
As a rule, the F-E has always been a tightly controlled corporation. Access was set so that only 2 of the 7 hangers were "general", the others restricted. As a result of this, it was next to impossible to get anything from the corporation because not only the pillars were playing L2, but so were most of the people who had restricted access (oh, and things like cruise missles, large hybrid ammo, etc were in restricted).
Anyways, the pillars relented and control of the corporation was handed to Perrinaybara.
At that point, we had every intention of reforming the corporation to a leaner and meaner group, so to speak, when treachery struck.
You see, the Forsaken Empire was constructed from a large number of former pirate and PvP corps. The CEOs of the merged corporations were all given, as a courtesy and a sign of trust, complete hanger and corporation wallet access.
My guess is that Vultair, who was the CEO of Valkyre (sp?), was afraid he'd lose access to all the F-E hangers and wallet once the corporation was reformed, so he and some former Valkyre members stole every last isk from the corporation wallet, and also took everything that wasn't nailed down.
This action broke the back of the Forsaken Empire. With no ISK, minerals (and we are talking hundreds of thousands of Megacyte and zydrine), BPs, and assorted other valuables, the F-E was at square one.
The decision was made to disband the corporation, to seperate those who were still actively playing eve, and those who were not, and to prevent further looting. Out of this, the Paladins of the Red Skull have been reformed, as well as the Oracles of Curse, and there maybe some additional corporations to arise out of the remnants of the Forsaken Empire.
There is a lesson to be learned here, something that I said in a post long ago: You cannot break a corporation militarily, it is just impossible. Sure you can harass them, and make life difficult, but with unlimted Clones, BPs, mining, etc, you can only hurt a corporation, you can't kill it. The only way to kill a corporation or alliance is from within, just as the NVA, and now the F-E have found.
Traitors and theives are the bane of EVE.
Anyways, just a warning. And don't trust Vultair (if he hasn't already sold his account on e-bay).

Past issues aside (and there are lots) it is a pure, ****e crapper to have a corp theft, especially a massive one.
Condolences.

I would not even wish corp theft (especially of this magnitude) on my enemies--and you have been at times my enemy.
I'm sorry to hear of this, it is truly tragic.
Good luck picking up the pieces and continuing. I salute you. ------------- My salsa makes all the pretty girls want to dance and take off their underpants. I <3 ( . Y . ) |

From a player's point i view, i must say that this one really sucks.
But on the other hand, it was a pirate corp, full of pirates. There are so many people gloating about how they ripped off so called carebears. And now the pirates prey on each other. It was not all that surpirsing to me.

Good post, and very accurate summary, Jacob. I'm surprised this information wasn't put out earlier, considering the magnitude of the theft.
Whether a pirate corp or not, no group deserves to be struck from the inside, but someone you've trusted for such a long time.

Well, even though I was on the other side of the battlefield versus you guys for a long time, I gotta say it.
That really sucks. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, and you have my sincere condolences.
Corporate theft is the worst possible crime that can be perpetrated in-game, to my mind. It's an abuse of trust, which just isn't on.
Here's hoping the thief gets his just desserts.

This is only the side of the story from the people who are still active in Eve. Yes corp theft sucks, but F-E wasn't a corporation that sustained itself on the corporation's assets. I have received little of value from the corporate entity of F-E, and I know that most of the members did not sustain themselves on hand-outs from the corporation itself.
So yes, while it sucks that the corp. was raided, it is not the reason that F-E is no longer a major player and power. F-E's decline in power occurred well before the corp. theft happened. I personally 100% understand why people want to leave and form new corporations or reform old ones (as Paladins of the red skull has done). The core leadership of what was F-E (Hupa, Darwin, Havocide, Zen Later, etc.) are no longer actively playing Eve. Although it sucks for the people who stayed in Eve that the leaders that made F-E the superpower that it was are no longer active, it is by no means the end of F-E.
As others have recently pointed out, the one and only reason why F-E no longer exists as a unifed entity is Lineage 2.
On an aside note it is really poor form for one non-leader member of an organization this large to come to the official game forums and start a thread asserting certain things on behalf of the organization. Especially when every word in it is tinged with bitterness and vitriol.

cao, all of us that were in F-E from the beginning and watched it die know exactly why such bitterness exists.
however, I completely agree with posting threads on corp theft to raise awareness of both is occurances and its effect on the corp.
assets are assets, and while many of us were self-sufficient, many were not.

Keep a real tight eye on ebay to see if he will sell the account because if he does then he ripped the corp off to profit from it in real life wich is against the EULA and you will get everything back.
Also contact CCP and have them track down the ISK and the items if he moves it to alternitive account to sell that account on ebay, wich also is against the EULA.
When you contact CCP ask them to check if the account ownership is changed since that implies he sold it, also ask CCP to check if sums of ISK are transfered to an account that does not belong to him wich would imply he sold ISK on ebay wich again is against the EULA.
So to make it short, keep an eye on him and if he breaks the EULA then you get the stuff back from CCP. Spawn of the Devil

While I was never a big fan of FE I'm saddend to hear about this theft. In the end we all play to have fun and corp thieves definitely take some fun out of the game.
Maybe someday alts will be forbidden and people will really have to suffer the consequences forever of their actions.

It would be so funny if CCP cleared his account before he could sell it on e-bay and you guys got your stuff back

First off. Hangar theft does stink royally. As far as low down goes, this one is scraping it's belly in the filth.
That said, it just reinforces peoples difficulty in taking so called "Reformed Pirates" seriously. I'd suspect it was at the back of FE's mind that it could happen so i doubt you're all *too* surprised. If it did take you by surprise then it shows a worrying level of naivete on the part of your leadership.
Still, sad to see it happening. Whomever the victim

Btw, this post was not meant to be vitriolic in anyway, I simply wanted to answer questions, before rumors started spreading. And I also wanted to let people know what can happen when too many people have too much access to corporation assets.
As for the end result of the breakup of the Forsaken Empire, well, some members are returning to their pirate roots, which should be good for those of you who say "pirating is dead", and all the anti-pirate types.
Others want to stay "legit", and join existing corporations. Most within the Curse Alliance, but a few outside.
Believe it or not, the Forsaken Empire was an attempt at going legit, just like any other corporation or regional alliance. The fact that it failed perhaps means a return of traditional pirating, which some people actually enjoy.
Good luck to all.
