Isnt that what got them into this mess in the first place?
Its what made them really. That's how they roll. Being mercs. Just like Bob at heart still are pirates and giving the op backstab anyone for profit.
Did they make the mistake by switching sides or even when going into 0.0 at the first place? Bob knew who there were inviting at the time and MC knew who Bob were. So later on when Bob gets into turtle mode and leave their pets to die it made sense not wanting to be sacrificed. Tortuga is a risk and even when they helped coalition full force in NOL and won they would have to fight Bob (again),AAA or IAC. It now turns out that Bob is about to kick them out of PB but pherhaps together with goons and friends they might put up a good fight. And current it seems to be smart for Tortuga to keep goons close since they are the strongest entity in game atm. So on the long run it might work out better for them.

Maybe I'm failing to see sarcasm here. Or was your post, and this line in particular actually serious? Because if goons are the strongest entity ingame atm, then why can't they keep their poses alive in delve for longer than the stront timer, and why does BoB still hold NOL. Surely the strongest entity in the game wouldn't have trouble holding onto a sov3 cynojammed system defended by a titan as qy6 was!

I wonder if it's technically possible for MC to have handled this situation worse. They betray their longtime friends, biggest employer, and most powerful allies - alienating themselves, removing their primary source of income, and ruining their reputation in one go. So instead of building relationships with RSF, they actually manage to **** them off instead, putting them square in the middle of two 800lb gorillas. No real allies to speak of, and hated by everyone around them... yeah, that's going to go well. Couldn't have planned it better! I hereby nominate MC for the Darwin award. --

Seleene always claimed that they would consider taking a contract against Bob. Its just amusing to see GBC accuse MC while they have been holding a knife behind their backs all along. The timing just was off and MC thanked for being nothing more than cannon fodder. If anyones' reputation would be at stake it would be Bob for their fake friendships. They only wanna be your friend if it suits them. As long as it lasts.

No, what "made" them was intelligent leadership and some decent FC's to backup their choices.. atm they seem to have neither..
and tbh this "being mercs" sounds much like goonies "riding bikes"... sounds great.. but really doesnt have anything to do with the game atm.. MC are a space holding group like any other.. ------------------

I want to play on CAOD too, can I?
The war evolved, BoB chose to addapt and enjoy, MC just wanted to win. I tended to agree with MC, but stuck by BoB's leadership. BoB didn't cast the first stone, MC could have bowed out of the war and it probably wouldn't have been so personal. The chose to attack BoB pilots, BoB systems, Side with the enemy. I mean seriously, WTF did you expect?
They Chose to play the real Merc role, and they pay the price for doing so, they have no friends now.

Let me guess MC FC lost their skills at the exact moment when they said that their contract with Bob was over? Or because all the Bob alts left MC to spy on other alliances? Which is a weird way to show your friendship.

So why didn't you engage Tortuga last when they were waiting with 140 for your 400? You said you'd like your version of 'good fights'. So why blame them for doing the same?

Obvious would be not to engage heavily outnumbered. Unless you're BE of course. Besides they had enough time to learn from the 'best'.

The timing was fine, everything that could have been gained solely by them switching sides was gained: BoB leaving to attack PB, giving up querious, fountain, and catch quickly, and then giving up on PB once Delve started being attacked. MC's unwillingness to put anything bigger than a battleship at risk in Delve was the only problem. They took no initiative of their own and they did nothing to very little to support coalition offenses despite living in their backyard.
From the looks of things they still have this problem even when it's their own space going down.

you make a deal with the devil, do you put your kids out infront or hide them away?
MC had no faith in goons/red not to turn on them the moment they put the first mom/titan out. And who can blame them.
You want to see trust, try Molle taking an entire Styx/You What fleet + 50 caps bridging in .4s where he cant even DD.... on day one. It's the difference b/t a bandwagon campaign and true loyalty.

I really like how the new members who traded sides and joined BoB in the last week(with about 4 days in BoB on their employment history), and new pets of BoB cheer lately, like they have accomplished something. Truth is skillwise, there is actually an edge to the MC side, BoB just overwelms with massive numbers.
