Which means the PCgamer podcast will likely have some sweet tidbits. I have looked over what is already on tentonhammer and love it. I will know once i have played the beta if i like it or not. I will likely pay for both this and eve if i like it.

I really like EVE but the lag issues have ruined the game for me. I will most likely keep my account so I can still skill train ($15 for one of my few vices isnt that much =P). Plus, I hope CCP do get there "super computer" up and running and Ambulaiton looks cool. Anyways check AOC out! The 20th cant be here fast enough

Combat(pve) is ok. Kept getting stupid freezes and drops in fps though especially when fighting 2-3 ppl which really sucked. So far kinda difficult to tell its an mmo though. www.eve-dev.net - making a good thing better

I gonna try the pvp mini games later, which is the only type of pvp they are letting us do.

You do realize that a successful launch is more the exception than the norm when it comes to MMOs. I can't remember a single MMO launch that I've been in that was actually "Whee, this is SO great and everything is flawless". Most of them start out "decent" and then become better as time goes by.

At the most you should expect server instability (down time is a given), non game breaking/crashing bugs, enough content to get you 2/3rds of the way through with the rest patched in 2-3 weeks later, and at the very least able to play the game with relatively few problems that don't reek of alpha phase coding. Unfortunately thats not what recent MMOs have been released as and has contributed in their demise (Vanguard anyone?).

There is Eve speed: (Tactical slow paced) There is twitch speed (your standard FPS) and somewhere about in a 70% away from eve speed is where this game is combat wise. It is not twitch but its close. Its faster than i have EVER seen in an MMO i have gone through only the first few character levels and i am already ready to buy it. Do not sleep on this game. If you are smart play this and eve! :) For that is exactly what i plan on doing.

I pre-ordered it a few months ago and can't wait for the official launch. Its a great game and the female barbarian character I created is amazing hot and practically naked when she starts off.
