The following posts were especially helpful!

With the upcoming nano nerf, I worry about the continuing viability of these ships: All interceptors - Nerfing speed may eliminate these ships as really viable "noob" ships. Claymore, Hyena, Rapier, Huginn - Without nano gangs to catch/boost, they may lose their niche. Vaga - Without speed, it's 100% useless. It might be fine, depending on how badly they nerf speed. Ishtar, Zealot - fittings virtually require nano'ing for close range

Yeah I've pretty much maxed out the shield and missile skills. I have 26m skill points.
"Falcon is sex"? For gangs right? Because it doesn't look like it can put out enough damage for solo.
These are really good points you guys are making. I just started playing again after a year and when I left a year ago Caldari were regarded as second-rate PvP'ers because the shield mods compete with the EW, scramble, and web mods. I'm betting this is still an issue unless you forgoe shield mods for the most part.
I actually like the idea of not choosing, in part. I have a friend that is training Gallente and I would love to use a Huginn alongside a Lachesis (Lachesis looks so good on paper) camping 70km from a gate. I guess the Lachesis and Rook could work similarly but they'd have to MWD out of the scramble range. Perhaps a Lachesis and a Sniper Eagle. . . Hmmm the possibilities of not having to close in tackle!
Otherwise I think that Amarr ships are so sexy looking. But god I'd love to run in a group of all recon ships. Though I hear that the Curse sufferred in the Nosferatu changes that I have not yet researched.
Anyways I'm thinking about going Amarr with some Matari for the good parts. I have all the universal gunnery skills so it shouldn't be too big a deal to switch between them over the next 6 months or more.
