MrBinary	Posted - 2004.04.27 16:25:00 - [1] Greetings all, After a long search, I have finally located the individual who is to become the heir to all my worldly Eve belongings. My only hope is that I am not leaving these belongings to yet another ALT. I have come to the very sad realization that there are indeed more alts out there than I and probably many of you ever imagined. The trail of deception goes deep...very deep indeed, and I have jokingly wondered aloud, if the entire Eve universe is made up of 50 players total! Players I thought were enemies of CA, turn out to be one and the same as the players I had confided in! "Noobs" who corp thieve, who in fact turn out to be ALTS of very seasoned players...and the sick reality goes further and deeper. If I had no plans of leaving before, the things I have learned beyond a shadow of a doubt this past 72 hours, would certainly cause me to leave. It's sad to see so few players creating so many accounts and alts for the sole purpose of robbing and deceiving and hurting other players. I had a player picked out for this grand surprise...however I have since learned beyond a doubt that he was also an ALT of a very successful player. This could not happen so I decided to spend more time looking for the proper heir. I believe now, that I have located him/her. This individual will recieve the remainder of my possesions...all 952 items. Many stacked. Everything from blueprints and high end named mods, to oodles of items from convoys. Stacks upon stacks of minerals, refined and not. And for an added bonus, a fairly healthy back account. My personal hangar of ships was liquidated some time ago. Shuttles, frigates, 2 cruisers and a handfull of industrials. Some were sold on the market, many were simply melted down. My most prized possession in the game, my trusty Tempest...I simply gave away to a player who I had some amount of contact with in the game. I think he was fairly surprised to find a battleship escrowed for him. The MrBinary as many of you remember has been reduced to a shuttle. Here is my question. I need to escrow these items to this individual today so that I can move along. Is there any way to escrow large amounts of items into escrow all in one shot? Does anyone know what the max escrow limit is for items? Also...I have been running into a "bug" where after I set all the fields for escrow...and click to accept...nothing seems to happen. The escrow does not want to "take", if you understand. Anyway, any and all help on this matter would be most appreciated, otherwise it's going to take several days to escrow all these items. As it goes I have an Alt and it no secret who it is! errr... this is my alt... my main character is no secret either though, look up Harcole... and does anyone know who owns Harcolein?
Allaina	Posted - 2004.04.27 16:34:00 - [3] There is a limit to the number of itmes you can place in escrow... it's a small handful like 5-10 items. You can select multiple items by holding [ctrl] key down as you click the items. About that bug. I't usually goes away when you click "reset form" button and remains gone for the rest of your escrow "session". I assume I'm going to get this bug so I always click reset before submit.

Offline	Posted - 2004.04.27 17:12:00 - [9] You can move many items at once on escrow, hold the ctrl key and click each item down the chain. Worked for me with some 50 odd items.

HighLady Endoreth	Posted - 2004.04.27 18:16:00 - [11] Best way to escrow a lot is to fill it in hulls of indys and escrow them... Leave out the minerals / ore and escrow that by itself.. since they tend to take a lot of space. The slaves will return. And I will be theire master.

Not much you can do about players with multiple paid up accounts, but getting rid of alts would go a long, long way. How about an Eve-wide referendum, CCP? One vote per account, a straightforward yes or no. Nominate your single character, and let's put this whole alts thing to bed.

But Just on the off chance that it is what region of space should I check for an escrow. I use to think that if you put the setting to all, that you would get everything escrowed to everyone. But the other day another member of my corp escrowed me some ore to haul. When I looked for it in the list I couldn't find it anywhere. I was about 20 jumps away from where the escro was. When I got closer and tried again I found it. I don't think that I just missed it the first time. Anyway, who ever the lucky person might be, might need a little push the right way if they are going to find your gift. If I'm wrong about this some one please tell me. I have done a lot of escrowing lately, and it is completely correct that most of the time you won't see it if you are not at _least in the same region. Might not be how escrow was intended to function, but it's how it "functions" now. Now have a cookie and go learn some manners.

The world is full of cheats, lazy loafers, wanabees and scumbags who just like to have stuff handed to them. Why should a MMORPG be any different. It is after all, a SAMPLING of the real world, whether you choose to believe it or not. Not to be overly cynical here, but did you REALLY expect idealism, honesty and chivalry to all of a sudden come to the surface in a virtual world? No reason to quit, hand over all your stuff and pretend like YOU are making it better by making a few people happy with "stuff". Why not have a little fun by messing with the people you describe? stick around, make a pain in the behind out of yourself, have a few laughs, annoy people, do something different? Leaving is boring, but hey ...whatever you wanna do.
