Hey, I have recently heard about being able to scan out mission runners field of wrecks they leave behind and salvaging them. I know you need to use a Recon Probe Launcher, but I do not know how to go about doing this, or which Probe to use. So if any of you can explain the procedure of doing this it would help a lot. Also let me know which Probe requires the least SP but still works fine too. I know theres going to be plenty of flamers, so I'll just say shut up, no one cares, in advance. Thanks. |

There are 2 types of probelaunchers, and you are (as you self said) looking at the RECON one. This one can launch probes named Ferret, spooks and snoop among others. I recomend training for the probe that have a scanrange of 20 AU. Make alot of bookmarks in missionrunner hubs (like Motsu) and launch 3 probes in 3 different areas. I allways use my map (F10) when probing, and when the results are done they will light up like little dots on your map. Green ones are scans with good accuracy. Yellow and red ones usually require you to warp closer and launch a probe with greater accuracy and lesser range.
Now go out there and steal as much salvage as you can. And if you ever feel guilty because of "stealing" their wreaks think about this:
* The wreaks were never their in the first place. They belonged to some NPC pirate gang or whatever.
* If they want these wreaks so bad, they should equip a salvager on their missionrunning ship, or atleast have a friend/alt salvaging while the missionrunner still runs his mission.
* Missionrunnerhubs like Motsu have 150+ people present at all times. This is bad for everyone. People should not be affraid to use a agent of lesser quiality, and if you make them move to another agent, then you've done the whole EVE community a great favor.

Sadly, you can't find "abandoned" wreck fields. You have to scan for the ship doing the mission WHILE it is in the mission, "generating" the wrecks. Also, wrecks vanish roughly 2 hours after "creation".

Which annoys me no end when I forget to BM a pocket and have to track it down with the directional scanner and a 7km/s 'sader. |

And only works if you already have a BM for one of the other rooms Else, I doubt you could find the "missing field" in time before it vanishes

Best guide ever right here.
As I mentioned many times before in different threads, the ISK per hour isn't really all that good. It's the fun you can have doing it that keeps me coming back for more.
