Granted, you guys really caught us off guard with that fleet move, and Bobs dedication to simply keep online for that many hours deserves much recognition. You guys saw an opportunity and took it, but it was a tactic designed to ensure no fight, you knew what we had, and when we logged off. Certainly the Bob pilots complaining about no fight know what their superiors would say if they simply undocked to give the enemy killmails when the enemy had 6 to 1 superiority. to continually crow about no fight when you know not fighting was the smart thing to do is silly. I appreciate the flame free response.
What did BoB do when they were in this situation when their home system NOL was attacked? That's the difference between BoB and MC. BoB fought back, MC folded.

Well, can you please explain to me whose fault is it that you're in such position as you are?
BoB's?
And if you want convo about when bobits are going to hit you... well, bob isn't goons to poast about dining in whereever they go. If you're unable to put up defence... you don't deserve space. Pretty simple.
P.s. bob did quite well against insane odds, and remind me, which side were YOU on, YOU that want good fights?

Nah, this was 100% Seleene being dumb and unable to end his relationship with BoB, continuously attempting to run under BoB's skirt even when BoB wanted nothing more than to gut them and have a good time.
It still boggles the mind how MC thought flipping allegiances right after a long bloody war and then doing it again a month and a half later wouldn't make everyone hate them. But I guess they were either too scared or too arrogant to see something so blindingly obvious.

1st i want to say, good post.
2nd i want to say, one more alliance is killed buy BoB.
And then i want to say to Seleen. Its very hard to continue with something when you backstabb one friend, rigth?
You got what you deserve, and iam VERY GALD about it. You should not applolegy to BoB CEO:s or members, they DONT care about you and your sorrys. Because if Goons/RA + MC would win, you would never had regreat the backstabbing to on BoB. Now you failed (as you sayed) and now your sorry(?)
One snake is never sorry.
You will probobly "allways" be a target for BoB, and your corpse is worth alot.
(PS: to all nerds out there that did not get me, this is my ingame opinion about EVE).
Goons, in one not so far future, maybe this year, some one is going to knock on your door

I agree with everything said, since I probably said it at some time as well. But I will point out something people gloss over and ruin the mood completely (I can't help it, its a chronic disorder).
Cult of idol worship is hard enough to end in peace-time. Whilst I'd love to blame Mynas, he's just a tool whose never played a key role before, and probably never will again. Every alliance has people who will step up in the event of a power vacuum; who it is doesn't matter.
My perception is that you manipulated things on some level, through passive indifference. You took away the only unifying force in MC during a period of ideological transition and war, leaving the alliance to lobbyists and egos that could never fully overcome the past.
Long story short, the people who took over floundered and flopped under the high pressure as anyone could expect. The end became so inevitable they probably wanted you to absolve everything for them; to spare them the shame of admitting it.
If you wanted to save the MC brand (whether as merc or territorial entity), you would've pushed them to a place on the map where they can rebuild, redefine, and retry. You should know more than most people that losing a war and losing space is trivial if everyone maintains a long term vision. It takes the same amount of effort you spent writing this post to give them somewhere to work from, but you didn't.
But my guess is you'd rather see MC end than risk seeing someone else take it for good, change it, and be successful. The fact that you're even making this announcement proves that MC is, has, and always will be your baby. Nothing wrong with that ofc, if BoB goes down before the game ends, that's how it'll go.
Even if I'm wrong, you'd have to sabotage your idol status to truly help them move on for good, and I don't see that happening. It would marginalize your efforts, and fewer people would look back to the past with tear-eyed nostalgia. Which is fine, I'd take martyr status over helping losers bastardize my **** too.

It's been a long and interesting relationship between BoB and MC, from the first couple of times we contracted you to this. After the years of tinfoil ***hattery about you being our pets it's almost poetic and fitting that it should be BoB that deliver the killing blow.
I'll personally choose to remember MC for your achievements and impact on the game prior to the last 5-6 months and in that light everyone who was part of MC should feel justly proud of their accomplishments.
It's far too trite to say it's a shame that things have worked out this way, of course it's a shame, if it wasn't then I wouldn't be writing this post. I simply hope that this series of events doesn't blight too many ex-MC pilot's experience of the game and that you all continue to have fun in Eve (if not then I need a couple of solid players in a WoW raiding guild on US TZ ).
The most recent incarnation of MC deserved to die in the most brutal, cold and heartless fashion BoB could deliver in game. The older incarnation of MC deserves it's place in Eve's hall of fame.
Good luck and all the best.

So long, MC. Despite how things ended, you made your mark on the game in a way few entities have, and for what it's worth, for that you will always have my respect. Never got to fly with or against you, but when I started playing, you were among the guys to be feared, and there was a certain air of class about you. In the end, that remains.

I'd like to take exception to this bad excuse:
Originally by: Seleene 1.) Delve is a nightmare to push anyone from. It has plenty of NPC stations and so it makes a great fortress.
The NPC stations were not of any real consequence in the defense of Delve, simply because we only lost 2 stations and still had the use of all our other stations. The NPC stations thus didn't mean anything for us, but only meant safe bases for our enemies to operate from. So no, the NPC stations does not make Delve a great fortress. It makes it an open city with your enemy potentially in the house next door!
If you and your coalition friends had managed to push us out of our outposts, but we'd still managed to stay in Delve in the NPC stations and then come back from there, then this might have been a valid point. As things turned out it isn't, since we never got to the point where the NPC stations were a real advantage to us.
I had a lot of respect for the MC of old, but the new MC (backstabbing hyenas) deserved to die. I'm happy it did and I won't pretend otherwise. Good luck to the individual pilots though.
My views are my own. They do not represent the views of my corporation or alliance. |

After being absent from MC for nigh on the past six months I came back and realised that much of what ended up saying in his post was true. Time to move on.
To all MC and Tortuga friends and foes throught the ages I salute you and wish you well. There have been some fantastic times and I will keep some great memories.
Goodbye MC
