I tried abaddon and Dominix, but found the drones lack for focus on the same target a bit annoying.
Your obviously have not found the drone settings window.
Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

1400 maelstrom.
sentry drone / misc drone domi.
mael burns to range and snipes, drones fast tacklers. domi drops sentries and snipe/kills fast movers/ runs tractors and salvaging mods to salvage as the mission progresses.
removes the need for a marauder and a salvage destoyer all at once. if ur racial training is high for each character ull literally burn through missions.
enjoy :)

Have your drones on the non-tank ships (I use 3 - tank, gank, and salvage) set to 'guard' the tanker. Then all 10-15 drones will typically focus fire on one ship so long as it is within drone control range of all the ships.
To satisfy this end, I keep my gank ship within 50km or so of the tanker and actually dropped one tractor for a DLA on my salvage ship - I don't even need to bother targeting the cruiser sized ships anymore because the drones pop everything while I'm taking down the BS.
Worlds Collide isn't the best time example because you have two long burns to finish it up - but I can do two of those, both sides, fully salvaged; in about 90 minutes + 5 minutes to dock the tank ship and refit the tank - and that works out to about 100 mil (including loot and salvage) with the Angel / Sansha combination.
One other bonus of having the 2-3 man team is after a while, all three characters will have access to your agents; so you'll be able to queue up missions, all the same damage type and vastly increase your mission running time - as having to redock and refit and jump around eats up a whole bunch of time. _______________ Pwett CEO, Founder, & Executor <Q> QUANT Hegemony

How fortunate, then, that Angel Extrava is still disabled.

2 Ravens is the best all around duo altho you can get better results with some other ships if you know that you are going mostly against blood raiders/sansha/drones (nightmare) or serpentis/gurista (kronos). In real life speed difference is in the ballpark of of 3 - 5 minutes at the higher end of missionrunning, and it is actually significant amount if you are doing 'em all in less than 30 minutes.
In your case propably raven (cnr or golem) + domi or raven (cnr or golem) + kronos would work best. Malestrom can do okish also, altho it's missionrunning speed kinda sucks when compared to moderately skilled raven, but it has pretty heavy tank (thats with arties, have not tried AC's but if you go for sub 40 km range then torp raven will pwn really really hard in that section).

Personally I like to run a crow + raven part of the time, use the crow to jump in first, get attention with FOF, and orbit at 90 km while the raven jumps in and nukes the cruisers and a couple BSs, then jump the crow out and come back with a second raven.
Takes a little longer but it prevents unpleasant suprises. Particularly with missions where odd respawns occur the first time you shoot a frigate.
With missions I know really well, I don't bother so much with the crow- but whenever I suspect a mission has been "updated" it doesn't hurt to be cautious.

This would be expensive, but here goes. How about a cruise rattlesnake for gank, and a nighthawk for the tank. Manly because I like passive tanking.

cruise cnr (for when stuff spawns at long ranges) + torp golem (faction torps wtf bbq anything within like 30km or so, and the cruise raven takes out the crusiers, or battleships that decide to spawn at like 70km.
or maybe just go rail kronos + torp golem (**** it, this is the way I would go, im currently in a paladin + cruise raven config ) its pretty amazing as antimatter is really all you need. 41 optimal 30 falloff (got a range rig on), might want some ammo a step or two up on the range for the stuff that spawns out at like 80km, 3 hardener 1 rep 3 MFS, cap rechargers, web (domination web is preferred, I would think about an officer one but that would get ganked)
if you can do sentry drone + gun domi and a raven variant that should go well for ya. but I'm thinking the kronos will do ya better.
kronos + arty maelstrom has some potential, I'll let you run them numbers though

I'm basically running out of the same situation as the OP and use the following:
Raven (cruise, strong mission tank, med T2 drones) Domi (salvage/tract, AB, mission tank, med/hvy/sntry/shldrep T2 drones) Iteron (tract and cargo)
It's not DPS optimized, but it burns through L4s fast enough. The raven starts a slow mosey toward the next gate as soon as it zones in, firing cruises to take aggro on everything within range. The domi joins after the initial aggro is taken, taking the aggro from NPCs further out with sentry drones.
Playing the raven generally consists of queuing up all the battleships at the start and checking in from time to time to make sure a volley is always being fired. The domi requires a little more attention after initially dumping its T2 mediums on the raven in defensive mode as I use it to sputter around and salvage loot. Everything is looted, with the Domi jettisoning periodically as its cargo bay fills up. After everything is dead, the Raven jumps into the next pocket while the Domi heads over to the gate and the Iteron jumps in to pick up everything the Domi had previously jettisoned.
It's a lazy setup, I admit. I went with cruise over torps on the raven because I didn't want to pay close attention to volleys or target painting when switching between characters. Typically, the T2 Hammerheads from the Domi and Raven have all the cruisers and frigates dead before the Raven reaches the gate.
I'll probably move the Raven over to a Golem at some point, though I'm not really in all that much of a hurry. I think using the Golem effectively would require me to change how I'm using the Domi, and result in being a lot busier than I care to be switching back and forth between accounts. I think prepping a Drake/Kronos pairing for L5s will probably take priority over further tweaking them for L4s.

I run with an alt in a salvage Harbinger, set the drones to guard the main with "focus fire" on. All the drones fly around together blowing stuff to shreads :)
I use a harbi, mainly becasue I can run a 100mn AB in the deadspace pocket and if any agro heads it's way, it'll live long enough to bail. As i'm only really shooting with one character, multitasking is less of a problem and the 8 slots on the harbi often finish salvaging just as the final rat dies :)
