edit: well okay maybe that's kind of rude. It's just that I get the impression that multiple account users in this game and other MMOs see their characters as means to an end, rather than a way of immersing in-game.
Actually I find myself talking to myself quite a bit in real life and even walk around as if I'm watching my self in third person sometimes.
Means to an end.. yes. Why else play multiple accounts? Do I immerse myself into the game.. sure, six times over to be exact. Let's see I have my combat arms mains, two characters that do the job of killing things, quite well I may add. I have my leadership main that flies around giving my combat arms mains cool bonuses. Then I have my two mining/support/refining/reprocessing/market pig dog capitalistic mains. Then I have my alts on these accounts that hunt out macro miners and kill them and take their TII ice miners to my market pig dog capitalistic mains for sale on the market. Then, last but not least, is my titan stealing corp infiltration low sec pirate bounty hunting location finding main that then passes on the information gathered to my combat arms mains and their corp for surgical strikes of high bounty players.
Just remember, strength is in numbers, and eve being such the numbers game it is it's silly not to have multiple accounts, specially if you are sitting on billions in a corp or personal wallet. Turn those billions into game time to go out and cause havok ... for nothing more than a small amount of play time. |

Seriously I like the goon ideal, but some of the words they use... it's like pewpew. All in all homosexual and if guys sit around saying "haha I just got into a pewpew with this pubbie"....... I don't know but it doesn't sound very manly or exciting to me. |

If you really think that goons are meant to be manly then go check out amazon.com and search for goonfleet, just to see for yourself the sort of products goons buy online.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with only one account. And I intend to stay that way. Started to think I was the only one!

I have 3 accounts but voted once, cba to log in those other accounts to the forums. Also, I'd refrain from voting but if I did so I would have no 'right' to say anything after the election if things would/will go different from what I'd like to.

It's not my fault that I need 4 accounts to do what I need.
Just give us more research and industry jobs per character, damn CCP. Then I could save those 2 waste accounts! |

It's utterly impossible for CCP to tell if 2 accounts coming from the same household are 1 person, or say 2 brothers, or a husband and wife for example. So they have to allow the 1 account = 1 vote system, there is no other way.
A discussion over whether multi accounts should be allowed multi votes if it were possible to tell is slightly more interesting, but you'll end up with the same arguments you have for alts in general. Some consider it normal and fine, others consider it basically cheating.

CCP will never prohibit more accounts for one an the same person because so many people do it, it is a very large income for them. If they allow only one account i believe they will loose much income so they will never limit it... ------------------------------ Eve-online guide collection Web based version |

It balances those like me with 3 accounts but I abstained on all 3. My main account is 3 years old but I don't believe these players on the council will make much difference to the way Eve works. I have not made my view of this public until now but I believe the council is purely a PR exercise by CCP to try to play down the problems it has experienced. --

Works better than in a certain country that thinks its all that Shouldn't their current president be allowed to stand in this election too, considering he's only served one term where he was actually voted in....
Anyways, not voting for this. It's just another pointless, powerless oversight committee that EVE doesn't need. CCP are doing a good enough job as it is. Anyone who says different I dare you to play 'Yulai is the centre of the universe' era EVE and make comparisons.

Quoting this.
Companies with shareholder get votes on basis of the number of shares owned. It's rather reasonable as well, since by owning more of the company you can have more of an effect on what the company does with the money you've invested in them.
Granted, the CSM elections are something of a mixture between general elections and shareholder votes. Perhaps one should just consider one's account as a pseudo-B-share of the EVE enterprises that gives out no dividends but gives you one vote in the CSM elections and allows you to play the game EVE enterprises manages.
