Currently, the fight seems to be about even. Lag is heavy, but it seems to be manageable. The fight has been ongoing outside the POS shields for approximately 30 minutes. As of this post, I count 23 cap wrecks in addition to numerous others. Both sides continue to warp and cyno in backup.

Update:
Fleet sizes seem to be increasing, despite losses. The lag has become noticeably worse in the last few minutes, giving me time to type this in between module targeting delays. It also appears that someone has taken command of the POS guns and is firing at the SMACKFIX support fleet.
The two cap fleets continue to slug away at each other. So far, to my knowledge, no carriers have been lost on either side. Dread losses appear to be heavy.

I lost a moros, and am trying to lose my thany, but I got DC'd and am sitting on a blackscreen at the moment.
Wasn't bad lag for the first 20 mins or so, pretty bad after that though.

Lag started when friendly and hostile carriers started 2 unlaunch fighters and our support warped in. then lag went kaboemski :p

Fight still going on. Carriers have started to drop, and fighters seem to be almost non-existent. Reinforcements are still coming in... The fight is not over, not by a long shot.....

Fight was pretty even from the beginning. In the end the huge amount of dread backup the russian fleet kept jumping in overwhelmed us. Good fight :)

Thanks for the fight solar, xix, irc.. We had all been waiting for that for a long time. That must've been the first time I've ever seen enemy dread pilots come back in 2. and 3. dread, props for that Now let's go replace them all so we can do this soon again (your turn to come in our prime now;))

The fleet action is largely over. SMACKFIX forces had to retreat in the face of overwhelming SOLAR cap reinforcements. Lag was so bad that kill mails are still coming in. Without seeing the KB stats, it looks like both sides lost a good deal of cap ships. SMACKFIX seemed to have the advantage early on, but a large contingent of SOLAR caps arrived late in the fight and turned the tide.
In terms of ship losses, it would seem to be a draw, depending on what the actual stats say.

Good fight to all, btw. While not my first cap fight, it is probably the largest I have ever been a part of. Now if you will excuse me, I need to mourn the loss of my carrier and pull dust off the spare.

Early returns suggest something on the order of 12 dread kills for FVCKAS to 22 dread losses. Several killboards have entered reinforced mode and I'm sure all are not posted yet, but thats the first indication I got that seemed reasonable.

I am attempting to sync now with our enemies killboards (I have them all preset for normal daily syncing). So far, IRC lost 4 Dreads and were on at least 9 Dread and 4 carrier kills. I would think that will change as the various killboards come under less stress.

Yep we lost more then we killed (from looks of it 20:30 (K:D) on dreads, and like 3:10 for carriers?). But you know, at least we are out here, putting our balls on the line in hostile primetime and shooting at each other, i think we got one of the most even cap fights in eve history so far? Unlike some of the players involved in conflicts around eve we aren't afraid to go in balls deep and slug it out. We did it in TRI space, and we did it tonight, and we will do it again. And looking at the stats, we are actually getting better at it, maybe next time we might win one hahaha.
GF and mad props for everyone(friendly and hostile) who brought it tonight.
p.s. shouldn't you be docked in FDZ spinning bull**** in a bob v goon thread somewhere?

Personally, for me, this was one of the greatest battles I have ever been a part of. Usually, you might have a few caps lost in a cap fleet "skirmish" but nothing too serious. This is the first time I have ever seen a prolonged fight that I could honestly call a cap fleet "battle." It was two huge fleets of dreads, carriers, and support ships just slugging it out for as long as they could.
I've already replaced my carrier, and I know several others either had backup capital ships or have acquired new ones. Heres to SMACKFIX and SOLAR, and the next great cap fight. Well done guys, and excellent fighting!!

since i was at work ima put a few points out for all.
1) My cap builders gunna be ****ed
2) How am i supposed to steal all this isk when you keep losing it.
3) How come tri and the other big boys dont have a cap fight in the enemies prime time for the fight, seems to me only a handfull of groups want to play eve for a game.
4) dont worry vile i saved enough caps for your goons when you decuide to come.

The capital ship builders in empire and the various alliances are probably licking their lips at all of that.
Heard it was a great fight with people having a great time, our forums are abuzz with 'damn that was awesome' and the like. People ENJOYING a good fight for a change, imagine that.
I also agree above with gran, we were due to lose some caps. But like almost all of us here say "why the he** would you have an awesome weapon if your not going to use it, and maybe lose it!"
I'm extremely proud of my corpies and alliance mates, they went in and showed that our side is willing to go the distance.

I dont think it is wise. They cost almost the same with fitting (fighters are expensive...), and depending on cirumstances carrier > dread or dread > carrier.

Nice fight, I got to about 4 jumps out while the fight was going on and it took me 10 minutes just to get through those gates and into system. I locked some carriers and did some jammin on the field for about all of 5 minutes then was popped by a pos gunner......
Still hearing those targets getting called primary was sweet!

They then brought in the power RESERVES but they did not really do all that well either!
Kudos to both sides for slugging it out. Looks like it was a fun fight

ahh, what a shame that i've been chained to the library for the last few days. it's fights like this that make me skill up for a dread. sigh... all i can do is sell off a toon for a stack of ravens to throw into the furnace

you should also add 1 friendly deathstar as a ship/weapon as the fight was on your pos and your pos gunners must have been having a field day
