cheers Rodj, i was starting to look for that blog to, but i belive it only shows the first corps created on tranq, not the corps started in beta.
True, but it's going to be very hard to verify who started first out of the various beta corps.
Well Beta hardly matters since anyone can claim anything about it and never be proven right or wrong.

Edited by: Avernus on 08/05/2008 00:37:42 Not positive if JGR are still around or not, they were still kicking as of last year. They have almost always been an empire corp, though they did spend a stint of time in JK-FIX pre-QDF era. Was a noob pilot with them in Beta (didn't actually start myself until public beta was open).
Edit, would be cool to see an updated list by CCP.

yes but TTI was first where'nt they? and evol comming in on seccond?
well i wasnt in beta so im not sure, and memory is fading. and i havnt seen tti around much lately so im not sure on how active they are right now either.
We are active, and if you count Beta we might (but probably not) be the oldest. Not if you count retail though, then a few corps will beat us to it (PIE and Lonestar atleast).

And as I don't want to make a new thread, We should probably celebrate Dagny as the first character in EVE. And individuals beat corps any day for me.

Confederation Of Red Moon was estalished the firt day or 2 as well, But it is listed as a May 31/03 start due to time stamp bugs. I would not claim it to be the oldest but I would claim it to be within a couple weeks of the oldest as it was a beta corp started by a few lads from EnB.
I remember that Serenity Steele had a post or some info on this subject compiled last year that is generally accepted as being the most accurate. When he is done his politiking perhaps he will supply more info. \\ ***********************************************

Shadows info says 31/5/03 but from what i'm told it was a few days before that. The corp was actualy formed well before that in Earth & Beyond and DD, Stan and John started playing EVE and reformed it here. Anyway, we'll be celebrating it then, good a day as any Shadow Company

True, but it's going to be very hard to verify who started first out of the various beta corps.
Tranq is the live server, the early beta when corps were first introduced was called genesis. No idea who the first corps were but they were probably just started to test the interface. I know i got about 2 error messages a second when i started up a corp in Beta. I don't even recall the phase they were introduced. I think they were in beta 2 in a non functional form but the early betas had so much stuff that didnt do anything i have a hard time remembering.
I agree that the first Beta corps information probably no longer exists, and saying your corps from beta is really no big deal since it was seven stages that got wiped each time and lasted the better part of a year. However that said the first corps on tranq is really no big deal either since there were so many established corps by that time. Heck there were even alliancese already (C4 was started in B6 afaik). _______________________________________________

well New Birmingham Technologies UK [NBTUK] turned into Arcane Technologies [ATUK] then turned to Destructive Influence [DICE]
so not sure if that counts but there are a handful of us original plots still kicken about in DICE that made every move.

I'm pretty sure m0o is alive and in perfect cryogenic preservation. Tank, or whoever has an alt as the corp's CEO, can resurrect them if the original members ever want to get the gang back together, as it were.
I doubt it would ever happen, but it could be neat if they did and showed what true terror can be.

2003.05.29 seems to be official day one.
Prior to that, lots of corps were in beta. and prior to that many spent many months on the forums before we even knew what eve looked like. True forum warriors!
Jadu's North Star Inc was one of the first....Interstellar Security Corporation by Phyrefox (I remember a lot of flash), Omniwar, Endless Corp with HellGremlin, Hegemonic Core of Primer Xenius and many more. Some still exist today.
