I would say Taggart Transdimensional as well, Evol sure one of the oldest, MASS never used to be MASS in beta..
Maybe Col... to be honest there are so many unknown ancient corps in the game as well.

True, but it's going to be very hard to verify who started first out of the various beta corps.

The blog is since 2004, really depends on how you define active. M0o for instance is still alive by definition and could therefore be counted as being one of the oldest. Personally, I would count the corps that are "really" alive and kicking.
Evol, IT (congratz Ave &Co) PIE and COL are the ones that spring to mind.

As for beta I don't remember any of the corps that were alive back then... heck I can't even remember the name of the corp I was in. I just know it never made it in when the game went live. I have to take everyone's word for which corps were around back then.

Endless Corporation. Eve's first papertiger.
They didn't quite make the jump from beta to release, tho. Arguably not even from the pre-beta forum era to actual beta.
X-Trading Corp would come to mind, and Evolution (well, TAOSP from beta times). TTI joined the community at about that period too, if i remember correctly.
But meh, smalltimers if you ask me. Xanadu > * tbh. :D

Both Evol and STK Scientific may be big corps, but they didnt start an ingame corporation (actual ingame corp, not unofficial corp) untill the 31st of may 2003.
TTI, X-trading comp and among other, Nomads founded an official ingame corp on the 29th of may 2003.
All this info can be seen on the info for each corporation under "alliance history", but unfortunately it only shows the date and not at what time of the day the corps were founded, so I guess only CCP can give any real idea about who was actually really "first" first!
So all in all I guess the list that was linked to a little above this post works the best, and really... who cares about being 2nd, that just doesnt get You the chicks does it`?

Its worth noting that the Alliance History thing is bugged for really old corps. Anything that was started before 5/31/03 shows as being started 5/31/03, presumably because CCP wasn't keeping timestamps back then. Really, the only way to tell is to have someone look at the corp ID in the database.

Wasnt aware of that, but since some corps have 2003/05/29 in their infos this must surely be the date that the oldest corps have and thus the ones having 2003/05/31 were made later yes`?

The X-Trading Company was founded waaay before the opening of the Eve-Universe, I think they where already formed when the Jumpgate-Universe was young, around late 2001, maybe early 2002, with some players already flying together years earlier in Browser-Universes and VGA-Planets (I know five people back then known as Psi5 Trading Company).
The Eve-Corporation was formed the very first day when the server came up, I know that people hurried quite a lot to be among the first corps, it went like this "Server is up, login, mine Veldspar, pay for corp funding!!!!). Also there are quite a lot people left and active which joined XT right after server came up first (See Kampfgoessn, he has no corp history because it was bugged for the first days).

Confederation Of Red Moon was estalished the firt day or 2 as well, But it is listed as a May 31/03 start due to time stamp bugs. I would not claim it to be the oldest but I would claim it to be within a couple weeks of the oldest as it was a beta corp started by a few lads from EnB.
I remember that Serenity Steele had a post or some info on this subject compiled last year that is generally accepted as being the most accurate. When he is done his politiking perhaps he will supply more info. \\ ***********************************************

True, but it's going to be very hard to verify who started first out of the various beta corps.
Tranq is the live server, the early beta when corps were first introduced was called genesis. No idea who the first corps were but they were probably just started to test the interface. I know i got about 2 error messages a second when i started up a corp in Beta. I don't even recall the phase they were introduced. I think they were in beta 2 in a non functional form but the early betas had so much stuff that didnt do anything i have a hard time remembering.
I agree that the first Beta corps information probably no longer exists, and saying your corps from beta is really no big deal since it was seven stages that got wiped each time and lasted the better part of a year. However that said the first corps on tranq is really no big deal either since there were so many established corps by that time. Heck there were even alliancese already (C4 was started in B6 afaik). _______________________________________________

I'm pretty sure m0o is alive and in perfect cryogenic preservation. Tank, or whoever has an alt as the corp's CEO, can resurrect them if the original members ever want to get the gang back together, as it were.
I doubt it would ever happen, but it could be neat if they did and showed what true terror can be.

Originally by: paracidic Confederation Of Red Moon was estalished the firt day or 2 as well, But it is listed as a May 31/03 start due to time stamp bugs. I would not claim it to be the oldest but I would claim it to be within a couple weeks of the oldest as it was a beta corp started by a few lads from EnB.
CoRM doesnt come from EnB, it used to be/is a Mankind clan/corp.

BSC still going strong, were in that dev blog mentioned previously in thread. BSC are originally from Earth and beyond and active through beta. BSC has been active for many years now.

You could check in the Eve Prima guide....there were 5 or 6 corporations from beta hightlighted in that manual....this character was actually listed in the prima guide under a beta corp called The Ancient Corp which never got off the ground after retail started....

Luckily CTEC is a bit more active in game than we seem to be on the forums.
We stake the claim of being the first corp established in the game, even got a mention in the EON magazine confirming it if you don't want to go by the dev blog that has already been linked.

Colossus Technologies is the oldest "official" corp, started on day 1 after release, and has been active since.
Before that it's rather sketchy. Personally i wouldn't count Taggart, since it's a completely different bunch of people, and they had some periods in between where it was for all intents and purposes a dead corp (correct me if i'm wrong). It's not the TTi from the early days in any case.
If Endless is still running, it's exactly the same story.
Evol is a bit of a borderline case, since Evol wasn't actually Evol in beta, but i guess they'd still count.
Mercurialis is apparently also very old, but i have no idea about their history - Is it the same bunch of people, and did they have long periods of inactivity in between?
My point is, you can pick up the husk of an old, dead corp and pretend you're a big boy on the block, but that's not really fair, is it? It's hard to judge on matters like these, and anyone claiming to be the oldest corp is most probably just trying to boost his own ego.
I can call myself Caesar, but that doesn't mean i'm the same one from 2000 years ago, if you get my point.

Fortunately you don't have our member-list, and thus you would not really know. We still have quite a few of the old-timers, although we do not have Ragnar. And it has never been dead, though it has been close to being closed down a few times (tends to coincide with changes in CEO's).
