whilst the title sounds nooby, I don't mean it quite that way. I'm an Amarr, currently at a level where i am able to effectively fly a Harby. My Amarr plans extend to as far as the Armageddon and there they end.
The question I pose is thus:
Which other race should I skill for shipwise.
Minmatar: I already have (admittedly very limited) skills with the Matari, as this profile plays hauler for my miner, and I've skilled for a Mammoth, and some low-level projectile weaponry for my Rifter, which is a fun little boat. Other than that I can see very little to recommend the matari to my tastes, however my knowledge of them is nowhere near comprehensive.
Gallente: I like drones. I despise most gallente ship designs. this poses a problem, however I can look past the designs if playing the Gallente will provide me the gratification(shipwise) I am after.
Caldari: My miner is a Caldari, and as such I have some idea of what they are capable of. If I was to play Caldari I would be playing with missiles, because frankly, they rule.
At present I am leaning towards Caldari missile platforms, but my mind is wholly undecided. Any help you guys could give me would be much appreciated.
Side note: I'm not planning on active PvPing, at worst I'd be defending miners from PvP, and so a PvP intensive ship is not required. On the whole I'll be missioning, and I want a ship that's fun to mission in, at the end of the day.
Many thanks,
Inoriano.

I'd say gallente would be a nice choice cuz most of their ships are armor tank like Amarr so you wouldn't have to train shield tanking skills.
But, like the previous poster said, if you're mostly a PVE player, Caldari is the way to go... just started an alt for PVE and I went Caldari (my main in Minmatar as you can see).

i'd stick with amarr and push for t2 cruisers, they've got a fun playstyle and look super sexy. :)

This. Support the introduction of well thought out Amarr solutions!
I believe rats should avoid you if you have high standing with them. |

Edited by: Jill Antaris on 08/05/2008 15:44:25 Cross train to Amarr, o wait
Well on my Opinion Amarr got with the Abaddon a very cool Mission Ship and I never would fly a Raven over it. Shure you got some Issues(mostly vs Guristas) but this is ok, since most times it is fare more effective as a Raven because it realy hurts hard.
If you donŠt Mission for Caldari(ofc this would preaty mutch suck with a Abaddon )you canŠt go wrong with this Ship and Amarr at all.
If you mission in Amarr Space, Abaddon is the best Ship(besides the Paladin and Nightmare) for the Job and Raven would be a poor choice. ----------------------
Nerf Lasers! Thay need far to less CPU and Grid to Fit. Still using not enught Cap and do far to mutch Damage. O wait... they allready did... =( |
