I dunno what's up with minnies. I regarded them as the ugliest race with the ugliest ships. I had no interest AT ALL in flying them. I've been switching between Gallente, Amarr and Caldari but I really didn't get to like any of them, I just couldn't decide.
Then I made this minmatar alt... Just for trying... And I can't believe it, there's something magical in these ships, and you can't feel it until you fly them yourself. The rifter, the Rupture (which I always thought to be EVE's UGLIEST ship and now I'm simply in love with it), the Vagabond (Can't wait to fly it). Well, basically all minmatar ships have something special that keeps me hooked to this race.
This alt has basically became my new main :P.
Do you feel the same about minmatar ships? Or just fly them for the stats while not really enjoying the appearance?

I think caldari ships are the ugliest, looks like 10 designers each designed a part of the ship, leading to these weird shapes some of them have.
some of the minmatar ships are kinda .. meh, but I like the genera look of the ships.

The magic behind Minmatar ships is the fact that there is only one type of Minmatar ship. All the variation simply comes from when in the construction process the engineers decide to stop building it.
More seriously, I love the look of the vagabond. It reminds me of a dragon.

I too love the look of minmatar ships, there is something special about them.
I was a little sad when I saw the new models for the Burst and Prowler in the premium graphics as they were changed quite a lot (The prowler lost the AWESOME blue lightning that arced around inside it, WHY?! ) and don't quite feel as good anymore

Minmatar ships to me seem like an old, ugly, beat up, rusty junker car that's been hot-rodded with an over-sized tweaked engine to go really really fast (spewing profuse black smoke the whole way) and had some WWII-era machine guns bolted on top. That said, a car like that sounds pretty cool to me.
If I flew another race's ships (Gallente all the way here), it'd be Minmatar.

The minmatar lineup is nice indeed. I trained rifter , stabber , cane out of love for the minmatar style. Even now I'm tempted to resume crosstraining...
Then I take a look at my gallente ships and forget about it

I fly Minnie's almost exclusively now, as I became burned out on the Amarrian energy beam one-dimensional weapons.
Now I use missiles, drones, and guns to their fullest, the versatility in DPS and speed of the ships just rock.

Yea, minnies are the ugliest mo-fos, ships and people alike - however it's what's inside that counts - LITERALLY.
The Caldari have some ugly ships, but I think its only fair to say that the Griffin, Moa, Eagle, Osprey that are TRULY hideous. The Caracal, Scorpion, and Heron are not the best looking out there, but they arn't vomit-insuing.
The Minmatar on the otherhand, 80% of their fleet are dangerously vomit-insuing .
The Gallenteans have a few ugly-ass ships, the Dominix, Exequror, and of course the Imicus is their crowning achievement.
The Amarrians have all the good looking ships, and not many of them are absolutly hideous - but they arn't perfect; but they are more attractive then all the other races IMO.
Basically, the case is usually: the better looking the ship, the ****ter the ship. The more deadly the ship, the more vomit you get. ____________________

Minmatar are the only race that seems to have some soul infused in their ships. Everyone else's are just cold and unfeeling, while Minmatar ships have really poor heat shielding design to keep us warm and fuzzy

Not exclusive to minmatar. Well , caldari and amarr ships probably have no souls , but some gallente have a peculiar design. Not the warm soul of minmatar , more like an evil spirit tormenting captive souls and devouring some once in a while. See also : ishtar , dominix , megathron.

My favourite Minmatar flying style description:
Quote: Playing Minmatar is like going down a flight of stairs in a office chair firing an Uzi.
The first time you fly a slasher with autocannons, afterburner and overdrive, you'll know this feeling. Then as you upgrade to larger hulls, you'll find the feeling never quite goes away. Slasher, Stabber, Hurricane, Typhoon, Maelstrom - the names say it all!

I dig the whole post-apocalyptic feel they have.. I choose to start a Minnie way before I was accepted into the closed beta, based on the back story and few images they released at the time. I've never looked back. I've made other races as alts, but they always get deleted. I'm skilled to fly all races, but I find myself solely flying Minmatar, even if it puts me at a disadvantage. There's just something about 'em.
