1 mid slot and a useless 5th high slot ....what were the devs thinking? anyway....its still one of my favorite ships for gang PVP.
high ; 4 med pulse 2's , mid , MWD OF COURSE AND ALWAYS.
lows , i like 2 diferent setups on this , havent picked a fav yet by im leaning towards this one..
3 heat sink 2's / co-processor / t2 overdrive injector.
there was a post where a guy said its dps sucked...his skills must suck period. you wont believe the dps this lil baby puts out. )check my kill mails :-)
granted , it sucks for a solo ship totally. but for gangs when you want something fun to play with that does UBER damage , this is your huckleberry right here folks. it will smoke a ceptor anyday of the week , BS's and BC's cant hit you worth beans. cruisers not so much either and besides its very unlikley you'll get called primary anyway. and anything else you'll smoke b4 it smokes you.
and always use scorch of course.

Your setup is okay, and paper thin, but the problem is that even a omen beats you: FASTER, has a point, MORE dps, MORE range, MORE effective hp, same agility, has a drone bay
you have a smaller signature, but your slower, so meh
So assault ships are not worth it, except they are underrated, but so is a omen
Support the introduction of well thought out Amarr solutions!
I believe rats should avoid you if you have high standing with them. |

A statement like that is IMO very foolish. Some of the assult ships can be very useful... admitadly however the retirbution isn't one of them.

Don't bother flying this ship at all until the assault frigate boost patch. It simply does not exist in PVP.

I'm sure you can get kills with it, any ship with a gun on it can get kills. Just that, if you find yourself in a situation where you really a.) need a point on the target, and b.) the speed to keep that point on the target... you're boned, and should have used a ship that isn't crippled.
The devs know AFs blow. It's getting fixed. Until then, you might as well fly competent ships. The Retribution is currently a gimmick. I personally could never forgive myself if I was the closest one to a target, and I couldn't keep it pinned because my ship is a piece of garbage with one midslot.

Each to their own I suppose, Im probably just more willing to make sacrifices on the speed than most. Main reason I like this ship so much is because its not another one of those speed junkies and so few fly them.
OP should give it a chance. If you dont like it no worries, you can at least say you tryed it out.

It's a nice platform for beams too, to pop pesky ceptors and pods. Apart from better tracking and fast locking speed, the Omen is better for that too 
The sig radius is great tho, and that little ship can be a pain to hit WITHOUT MWD...AB + close orbiting is fun

That's actually a very good point. The Omen is a better assault frigate (lol) than the Retribution. It pretty much does exactly what the Retribution does, except it can scramble and web and MWD too.

whicked my pve setup (which atm is close to my pvp setup due lack of funds) beated the crap out of a Omen in a duel. the Omen did break my tank but i easely killed him before i died. (he was hitting structure i was at 40% armor).
used a 4 med pulse with X-ray (just that tad of extra range) AB2 and some tank and a overdrive because of lacking skills i couldn't fit anything usefull els and the extra speed is allways nice.
overall i love my retri and not beeing cald primary because people luagh at you is a big +
