Speech of Otro Gariushi, Ceo of Ishukone
It comes as no surprise that Otro Gariushi, CEO of the Ishukone Megacorp of the Liberal Faction, has denounced the war-mongering racist, Tibus Heth. Since becoming Chief Executive Officer of Ishukone a few years ago, Otro Gariushi has put the needs of the State, the needs of the Caldari people, before the Megacorp, fulfilling the pledge of his inaugural speech, and so it was no surprise that Ishukone administered systems were spared the civil disorder of a week or so ago.
I encourage all Caldari who wish to end this disgraceful period of race hate and violence to support the Ishukone and to distance themselves from the brutish, blood stained ranting of Tibus Heth and whoever it is who funds him and pulls his strings ( if he will ever condescend to tell us that, but perhaps he doesn't think it is of any importance to the Caldari people). I would also encourage those outside the State to support the Ishukone and the wider Liberal Faction in this matter, thus to prevent further suffering, bring the culprits to justice and restore peace and prosperity to the regions disturbed.

I must say that Mr. Gariushi's remarks were well received by myself and, I'm sure, by others who have endeavored to give back to the workers their due for expending their energies for a corporation.
I hope that cooler heads will prevail and the violence ends.

His words are very welcome. I can only hope that they are heeded, and perhaps that those of other races might follow in the same example. War is the last thing any of the empires need now, it would be bad for all -- if only that simple fact could unite the empires at this time when they are so divided.
Though it seems that either the translator or the reporter made a mistake in rendering 'Caldari' as 'Caldarians.' ________________________________ This is not a signature. |

On this, I believe, the two of us can agree. While the Reserve has no official statement at this time, I can say that personally, as an Ishukone citizen, I am proud of the fact that it is Otro Gariushi who has made this first effort to end the self-destructive violence that has gripped the State in the last day.

With no personal or political stake in the current crisis, I will simply say that Gariushi is a wise man and the Caldari people will do well to heed his words.
Crises are best resolved without bloodshed and without sacrifice of essential principles, where possible. As I have said in other contexts, soldiers' role should be to emphasize the words of diplomats rather than replace them with firepower. --

I left the service of the State because of the abuse that happened, like what made Heth a hero to many. However, it is wrong to funnel the frustrations and anger of the mob against foreigners. The problem lies within the Caldari megacorporations and the culture of entitlement that seems to lurk at the upper echelons of management-- something that arises because they are human, not because the Gallente influence them.
There are enough inequities in this world without creating more bogeymen to foster paranoia and distrust.

I am not surprised to see that Gariushi-haan is the first CEO to openly answer Tibus Heth.
He is of course right in his analysis, and if the State must go forward as the preeminent culture of the cluster, he should be an example to all of us.
But to all of those who insult Heth-haan, I must remind you that it is not Tibus Heth who called for riots, Tibus Heth was not the man who did not stop the riots with heavy force. Tibus Heth is a fever for the sick State, if the boards and upper management can listen to Gariushi-haan, more fever will not be necessary, we are not barbarians and can cure our sickness without violent revolution.
But the status-quo is not possible, either the boards follow and copy the successful management and human resources of Ishukone, or there will be other riots, Tibus Heth or no Tibus Heth.
All of you who speak of not blaming foreigners, I agree, no individual Gallente is responsible for the sorry state of our Corporations - I would not say that their culture is not responsible - but it is our responsibility to resist the worst parts of their culture, not theirs to change it, Gallente influence does not mean Gallente responsibility, we not part of the federation anymore and we are responsible.
We have to heal, both for the immediate good of the Caldari People and to not be weakened against an external attack.
I am not a liberal, I am a patriot, and I say, Gariushi-Haan is much more a patriot than the greedy CEOs who let their employeeÆs riot like animals and treat them like slaves.

The two are far from being incompatible.
The presumption some corporations show by labelling themselves as "patriots" has always grated at me. The tacit implication there is that they are the only ones who care about the State and its people, and that the Liberals and Practicals are somehow not patriotic... and that simply isn't the case.
Of course, I also dislike the Practicals, mostly for their business practices, but also for the tacit implication that their philosophy is the only practical one, which also isn't the case. Theirs is by far the most impractical, in my opinion, lacking as it does any long-term sustainability. -

Given the mind and mouth that the address came from, there is no doubt in my mind that it was spoken with the best of intentions for the people of the State.
Whether the people listen, and the CEP do anything to curb the voilence will ultimately show what remains of the State I once knew and loved.

I must say that I find many of these words profoundly disturbing. We are talking about overthrowing a system of government that has served the Caldari State well. We are strong because of what has gone before. What are we to replace this government with? Yes, I admit that mistakes have been made, yes citizens have been used, perhaps even exploited, but all for the good of the state. Are we to have kings or emperors instead? An economy based on the slavery of others? Yes, there should be some, limited, change in the way things are done, this disruption to the lives of millions of people can only do harm. But I have the suspicion that there is something more to this than meets they eye. Perhaps we should look to our Gallnete "friends" for answers.

Admitting faults isn't unpatriotic. There is no perfect government system in the universe, and there never will be one.
Mr. Gariushi does not seek the destructuon of his State, in fact he's one of the best corporate CEOs in the whole Caldari history. Under him, life of billions of Ishukone employees changed for the better, and Ishukone itself was saved. He is a true patriot, one that relies on common sense and morals instead of greed and old prejudices, something that can't be said about Tibus Heth.
So please, stop searching for hidden agenda in his words. If there is one person that could speak for the whole Caldari State, that would be Otro Gariushi.

How wonderfully arrogant! In my experience when anyone have to proclaim wisdom, it rarely is.
I find Otro Gariushi's speech to be utter apologetic for the mayhem the Gallentean terrorists have committed. What will he do next, blame it all on the Caldari. That it was really their fault?
I cant help to question his motives.

Funny, I was starting to think the same thing about you and some of your buddies! If you guys want a war with the Gallente, then why don't you have one instead of encouraging one by proxy!
Personally I welcome this speech which promotes at the very minimum a "Think First" attitude! The Caldari way is to contemplate the situation and react, not just act! Sorely over recent times our culture has been diluted with Hot-heads, hell bent on revenge and retribution. While these things can be important for honour, they must be contemplated and deliberate (Also helps if you know what your true target is!)
"Revenge is a dish best served cold!" (Ancient Caldari proverb.)
Whatever, whomever (be they Caldari, Gallente, Amarr or Minmitar) is responsible for all of this will not be brought to justice through reaction alone, but careful deliberate action!

Why Hooch Flux, we would never dare to dream about a war with the Gallente. What do you take us for, savages? Sure the federation is a cesspool of degeneration and immoral ideals and behavior which clearly is reflected on its citizens and allies, but I put my faith in gods divine plan to enlighten the universe.

Being a loyal friend of the Caldari state for the most of my life, I know the Caldari very well. My father was stationed in Caldari space and thus I got to see the Caldari from the inside. Their way is to 'contemplate the situation and react', and thats what they are doing right now.
The Caldari know who their target is. It's the federation extremists who prey on the gullable.

It is strange that it takes an Amarr citizen to point the way for Caldari citizens. It is our people on our "occupied" homeworld that were first attacked and our heritage that was defaced and destroyed. Yet we bleat on when true patriots take the fight back to the Gallenteans.
